ha ha. 3rd most decorated team in England, and they have played in a CL final you know.
Yes, come on people, it is the Europa League after all, Arsenal should be focusing on it just because the prize for winning it is not having to play in it next year.

Europa league is bad enough with crowds, without it is a hard watch.

*looking at the PL table*

Yeah... if they lose the EL, they won't have to play in it next year, either.

I almost pity them these days - I don’t know if I’d rather they got to the final and inevitably got hammered or to save them the embarrassment and them just go out in the semis. Would be the biggest game in their history if they could get there.
Second biggest*

I personally think we are totally capable of beating Roma and Arsenal but we have to stop playing Fred in a deeper role because he is short and does not have have tentacles long enough to reach out for passes and he certainly does not have composure in possession. I say we play Bruno, Pogba and Mctominay for the semis and we have the possibility of entering the final and once we do that, we'll have a great final to look up to.

If we win the UEL and finish top 4 (secured at this moment I think), does the 5th placed EPL team get a CL spot?

I’m only relaying what most Arsenal fans themselves would tell you. Whenever you ask one what their loftiest of dreams are for the club they talk about the late 90’s/ early 00’s and an aspiration of being mentioned in the same breath as us again

It wouldn't feel like a European Final if it's all English.

Hey, i've just had a weird thought... is it "a European Final" or "AN European Final"?
I had a similar thought to this last night.

When Pogba got that stupid yellow card, I posted "that's an horrendous decision" and spent ten minutes wondering whether it should be a or an.

The rules say a because you pronounce the h but it sounds terrible. I think it sounds better if you use an and drop or soften the h in this particular usage.

Otherwise you need to pronounce the A as a capital rather than the ah you would use in regular speech.

This level of pedantry is about halfway down the list of things I consider more important than worrying about Arsenal.

I want Arsenal. We have the better players and we have the better manager.

I think the players will be motivated to beat them especially after last season and this season's results, where the luck and fine margins really didn't go our way.

How on earth is a European Final involving Man United only 'exciting on paper' depending on the opponents?

So long as we're in it, I'm just as excited regardless of the opponents - if anything, slightly more so if it's Villareal rather than, say, Barcelona, as our chances of winning are increased which is by far the most important thing and the most exciting prospect.
It is still exciting and i'm not one of those fans that hates Europa League or League cups as somehow 'beneath' us but a final with Arsenal is more exciting. It might not be Keane vs Vieira, Fergie vs Wenger anymore but there is a history there and it would be a better spectacle.

Thanks. Good to know that winning it doesn't give Spurs/Liverpool a possible CL spot.
It might. If Pool finish 4th and Chelsea finish 5th and win CL, Arsenal winning EL would relegate Pool to EL

I think this is some kind of illogical situation where we all want to get them in the final and at the same time we don't.
But let's not rush into bald headed, let's beat Roma first

Given the choice I’d never want an English team in the final. Losing to them would be that much worse and they also know your game a lot better.

I'd prefer to play a club outside of England if I had a choice, but that shouldn't be an issue as Villareal will dispose of the Gooners for sure.

I share most people's opinion here : Villarreal.

While we definitely are better than Arsenal, for some reason, we struggle against them.

I have a feeling that Emery will do them over two legs
There's every chance Arsenal will come out on top as there's not a great deal between them. We're marginally the best side remaining in the competition and should win it if we play at our best, so I'm not that fussed either way.

We've gotta lift that semi-final curse beforehand, though.

If the table finish as City, MU, Leicester, Pool, Chelsea, Westham,.....Arse, Spur.

If Chelsea win CL and Arse win Europa, City wins League Cup and Southampton wins FA, then 4th place Liverpool joins Westham in Europa, Spurs watch TV in midweek.

Won't we both be banned?

Not sure it's that simple though. Believe the sponsors would have something to say about this.

Hasn't been cancelled as things stand.

Waiting for official confirmation that these games won't go ahead otherwise the possibility remains.

A win will be a beautiful way to say goodbye to our old faithful companion
