I'm ringing tomorrow morning to cancel my membership. I'll sign anything I see that registers my disgust and I will refuse to spend money on anything that the Glazers will profit from. That mean no games, no merchandise and no Sky Sports sub until they are gone.
On my own it's feck all but if enough of us do it the impact will be felt. I feel sometimes over here we can be quite cynical about how few fecks the fans in Asia will have, and write off any movements as impossible. But I've lived in Asia and I know how passionate and serious football fans over there are. We need to be better at communicating with and engaging the fans in different countries to get real traction behind these movements.
That's the thing. We have no actual power unless MANY can do the same thing. There's plenty of fans abroad who probably don't care what's going on as long as they can watch games.
Even a few thousand is just a speck of dust for a team with 500m+ fans.
Just cancelling your membership won't change anything as the big wigs know they're about to get more subscriptions from fake fans elsewhere.
Thats why I'm saying I'm not a sheep. We just don't have enough power against these greedy owners. They're doing what they're doing now for more money. I can imagine even if every fan cancels membership they actually won't care because it's TV that pays and good TV means more money.
Its crap all around but I won't stop supporting the badge. Honestly it's all a car crash man. I actually hate it.
Edit: I cant reply now as got no more messages left.
BUT either teams for this are actually greedy or they've been shafted for many years by a governing body that's worse.
Don't know what goes on behind closed doors but maybe there is more to it. Bit like ebay taking 10% fees. What if Fifa/Uefa take 70%?.... I don't know but yeah, it's interesting.
However I'm a believer of 'earn your stripes' so if teams don't belong there then it's unfair. Just to reiterate. I am not for this.
Anything that makes money in todays world will attract rich vultures. How do you think they became rich in the first place?
Its not uncommon for average players to make 20m a year in the NFL so it was honestly inevitable.
