Porto, Bayern, Dortmund, Leipzig, *puke*PSG, so far clubs worthy of admiration.
Easy here tiger, all the German clubs have the fans with the key vote so that´s that for them and PSG has an owner high up in the UEFA hierarchy and their TV station owns the right to CL TV broadcast in Asia plus they are deep into the scandal that the WC in QATAR is, so that´s a bit over simplified.
Porto are the only club who deserves any plaudit here.

I think it will faill from the beggining, since for this to work they would need to estabilish a much more complete league system for all this idea to be accepted, and they would need the top 16 clubs to join which is not happening now.
Most of those games is something you can see every season on EPL, so they really have to be relyin on bluff. What concerns me is that names like JP Morgan are behind this, and those guys do not play arround with their money.
2008 would like to have a word

If this goes ahead, any tw*t that goes to Old Trafford to watch a Super League match should take a long, hard look at themselves. They will be no different to the Glazers in my eyes and just as involved in destroying football.

I'm absolutely ready to jack it all in and disconnect from football completely. Who the hell would want to watch this? A league where clubs are guaranteed obscene amounts with no threat of relegation. It's absolutely appalling, a hijack of European football.
Have you cancelled your season ticket?

It's pretty hilarious that this supposedly great European Super League counts three teams from London among its 12 members too. Not exactly a broad idea of what makes a super league.
London is the biggest city in Europe, so makes sense. same reason why LA and NY have multiple teams in a lot of their sports too.

Paul Pogba: Raiola, I want to quit United and stick with UEFA and FIFA!
Raoila: Okay, let me check who is interested...
Paul Pogba: Okay

Raiola: Well, we got offers from...West Ham, Aston Villa, Leicester...Betis, Sevilla...but only for 30 million pounds and 180k per week.
Paul Pogba: I retire.

I think the founding clubs, backed with millions of research and investment developing this will always predict this outcomes. The backlash, betrayal to football as what the media is suggesting.

To join something new by breaking away from established organization, they must have some form of security. I believe that is why there is no relegation for them. This is suicidal risk, and they all know it.
No. The wanted to create a closed league, the closed league between marketable clubs is the point.

Good luck to them getting those figures when 50%+ of loyal fans will boycott this abomination. Do they really believe fair-weather fans will pump that much capital into the game, and on an annual basis at that?

No chance.
those matches will be 100% packed and viewership will be sky high, don't be fooled by the like-mindedness of the CAF.

Don't depend on fans. No one will boycott anything. Ton and ton worldwide will pay to watch the big names play each others.

The German clubs all deserve plaudits, because we're applauding the fans that own them. That ownership model is showing what can be done elsewhere.

The most likely thing:

- banned from premier and europa

- super league won’t start, blocked by government

Yeah, but being relegated means they can try again to enter next season because they are still in the UEFA association.

This is like breaking away from a relationship with hotter chick, but you can't go back to your ex situation. Of course the clubs will only accept security for their participation.
It allows us to be lazy, not spend money, and know we will still make money. fecks over every other team. This is really an end to football for me.

Some of the Other 14, want the Big Six suspended from the current Premier League season

They couldn't even ban city after they cheated to enter the tournament. Now they're going to ban all 12. Not happening. This is well in advance and they've pulled the rug from underneath us all

I don't really see how that article supports your point beyond City sparing no expense. You're implying UEFA lost that case because they had worse lawyers, while at the same time saying the facts were on city's side.
I still think UEFA has enough money to employ lawyers of the highest standard.
No I'm arguing Cities legal team destroyed Uefas best legal team in court. It was well known before the case City had the finances for a fight Uefa did not. If you think Uefa have anything like the money City have you are miles off. City went out and hired the best legal team in the world levels above Uefa's because one could afford it and one couldn't. I think I linked the wrong article, I've got a lot of bookmarks. David Pannick (what a name for a lawyer) was on 20k a day for City. The legal money won't have to come from club accounts don't forget.

Yes that could be a long time but I don't trust the likes of Raiola and Mendes to forgo the big payday that this ESL promises and I don't see all the FAs agreeing to ban all the players either. Something will have to give but it would be incredibly incompetent of the rebels to go all in without the buy in of the players and their agents, I would expect that from Woodward but not Perez and Agnelli!
It wouldn't be the individual FAs that would ban the players, it would be FIFA.
Not sure if it can be done or not, but if it can and does happen it will have huge ramifications.

The news have been overwhelmingly difficult to keep up with, so I will ask the CAF to help me:

With things the way they are, is there a chance that City, Real and Chelsea will be thrown out of this season's CL, meaning that PSG would win it automatically?

We got relegated in the 70s. Leeds were in the Champions League Semi Final then Relegated for over a decade. City were in League 1. Things change.

We shouldn't be rewarded with top European Football if we're shite, that's what this is about. Owners not wanting to miss out on revenue.

Applaud the fans and the model yes not the clubs they have nothing to do with this. Just watch some of the meetings between Hoeness and the fans to see that they also see them being in the way.

Isn't that a bit hyperbolic? UEFA messed up in that City case, but it's not like they can't afford the best legal teams there are. Legal teams don't get exponentially better the more money you throw at them. There's a cut off point where you either can afford the best lawyers, or you can't. Surely UEFA can afford it
But in the strictest legal sense do UEFA have a leg to stand on? Aren't all these confederations voluntary organizations and certainly those 12 would argue that they the right to organize their own tournament to rival the CL?

I don't even trust the likes of Bayern, Dortmund, PSG and Porto. I think they know that the big twelve will eventually extract concessions from UEFA, FIFA and their respective FAs and they will join up in a year or so once the dust settles and the fallout has been navigated.

I'm going to complain about it until the first whistle of the first game, from that point I will watch it with passion.

Will you pay to watch it? I know I certainly won’t and any supporters I’ve spoken to have said the same.
You and me won't. However I know pretty well ton of casual fans worldwide won't give a shit and will just want to enjoy some football regardless of all the problems surrounding this system. Don't depend on fans, believe me, you'll be disappointed.
