He is only 30 years old so he was probably dealing with nappy rash at the time.Where were you why Sky and the Big Five broke away from the old Division One?

If there are weakened teams, it's an opportunity for small clubs to close the gap right? Isn't UEFA already planning for.a top 6 CL anyway ?Imagine those 6 teams getting hundreds of millions every year more than the other PL teams.
And imagine a season like this one where City have walked it and the other 5 don't even need to chase a Champions League spot. Weakened teams being fielded most weeks, no interesting games to broadcast, star players not being used etc.
Clattenburg will just referee all of them. What will they do about referees and VAR?
Will they have their own set of crack super referees?
Selfish 6I reckon there'll a fair few broken legs in the Premier League if the Sinister Six are allowed to stay.
Maybe not, initially. As I said above, City were nobody until someone invested. If the product continues to be of a high quality - and not all players can play in the ESL, it'll still be marketable and watchable. I suspect there are more people abroad tuning into those games than you think.Yeah, just in UK probably . No one is watching West Ham vs Leicester , the PL title decider by waking up 4 AM or staying late until 12 AM To see the match (which is what's happening now)
Shameless Six is also a nice one.Selfish 6
I know! Absolute nightmare to find infoThis thread is a mess.

So we've entered the YouTube video stage of this club transfer saga.
"They are just maximising the clubs revenue potential" by essentially ending the competition our players literally died fighting for. It's not 300m a season. Its one time.payment of 300m with 100m yearly payments. Again, isn't it just like another sponsor? They are just maximizing the club's revenue potential.
The PL will stay like the same way they are doing it now. It will still be having the same broadcasting rights which guarantees the money to small clubs, isn't it ?
Would I be able to purchase strawberry scented arsenic? The modern human, a soulless mindless automaton. Programmed to consume products brought to you by huge empty corporations who care nothing for human rights violations and only their bottom end.
It's cnuts like you that have given these owners the impetus to push for a ESL.
You'd consume Arsenic if Amazon were fecking promoting it.

^ Exactly top 4 becomes pointless. This season in particular shows how entertaining it can be when one club (City) runs away with the league but still the competition for Champions League places is in flow between like 6-7 others teams. Exciting to watch, now we'll have 6 teams in some European Super League (guaranteed) not arsed about where they finish in the PL unless it's 1st. Playing in a rotation of teams year on year. Non-knockout style. We've spent the last years in a top 4 race that's kept things entertaining. What would we have been competing for then and Liverpool now if we were already guaranteed European football?
It massively damages the EPL product.
If the remaining 14 clubs are happy to share a TV deal about 15-20% of the last one.Not when they all have 5x the revenue of every other team, it will turn it into a complete procession every year. I know you could make an argument that it already is, but at least with the equitable sharing of TV money there is some semblance of competition.
If the remaining 14 clubs move for expulsion then its a possibility for sure.
Fair point. Could be argued I guess that agreeing to play in an unsanctioned competition would trigger the same clause, I dunno.Who's played in any unsanctioned competition this season?
Close what gap? These clubs will be getting a hundred million more than the others every season so can outspend them when signing players, they will have a guranteed spot in this competition that the likes of Leicester and West Ham won't have, it's a rigged game. So Leicester get into the Champions league which is missing the biggest teams and inevitably earn less? There is no scenario where clubs can close the gap, this is a system they've come up to ensure these same 12 teams are all that matters and cannot be replaced. If there are weakened teams, it's an opportunity for small clubs to close the gap right? Isn't UEFA already planning for.a top 6 CL anyway ?
This is my biggest issue with it honestly, watching Arsenal flail around in mid table and looking forward to them being out of Europe has been a real highlight for me and now the Super League is spoiling my fun.I mean Arsenal are sat in 9th right now so wouldnt even make that. Yet here they are with a guranteed seat at the table. Nothing should be guranteed, it should be earned. They could finish 9th every season from now on and it wouldn't affect them. That has to be damaging for the League, your richest clubs not giving a shit.
But they will have a better chance to be in european competitions so maybe can boost their income that wayIf the remaining 14 clubs are happy to share a TV deal about 15-20% of the last one.

Leeds, villa and everton are arguably bigger clubs than 3 of the teams going into this super league. They’ll rise to the top again and hopefully Man city and a few others will be forgotten about again. I’m just gutted United are mixed in and pushing it all.All good and well but the guy you're replying to is right. Without the big clubs, the league's are dead. Money from tv rights will dry up and the league's will die. The FA's have literally no choice.
To me it seems like FIFA and UEFA are threatened at losing their own monopoly

Would surprise no one. This is from a few months ago, sound familiar?UEFA is the most powerful block in FIFA and Blatter had problems with them previously, these clubs have made a coup on UEFA and the cynic in me thinks that FIFA will soon betray UEFA and give legitimacy to ESL. There is too much money and too many cnuts involved for this block to hold out.
https://www.skysports.com/football/...er-united-in-talks-for-fifa-backed-tournamentLiverpool and Manchester United are in talks about a bombshell plot involving Europe's biggest football clubs to join a new FIFA-backed tournament that would reshape the sport's global landscape.
Sky News has learned that financiers are assembling a $6 billion (£4.6 billion) funding package to assist the creation of what could become known as the European Premier League.
More than a dozen teams from England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain are in negotiations about becoming founder members of the competition.
As many as five English clubs could sign up to join it, with a provisional start date said to have been discussed as early as 2022.
Yes I think. Pes doesn't have the licenses anyway. This would kill the Fifa franchise , they're already losing the battle.Wouldn't this hurt the game more than anything else? Big chance for Konami though with PES.
A European competition with less prize money and smaller tv deals. But they will have a better chance to be in european competitions so maybe can boost their income that way

Aren't United getting sponsorships which Leicester can only dream of? Isn't Barca and Real already funded by state ? Doesn't Chelsea and City has unlimited pool of money ? The damage is already done. The small clubs aren't catching up the oil clubs anyway unless they are state funded. Just see this as an additional sponsorship which clubs are getting because of their huge fanbase.Close what gap? These clubs will be getting a hundred million more than the others every season so can outspend them when signing players, they will have a guranteed spot in this competition that the likes of Leicester and West Ham won't have, it's a rigged game. The selfish 6 cannot have this superleage and remain in the EPL, that is something that cannot happen, for the reasons already listed in this thread. Their team selections in midweek would be favoured towards a more lucrative competion, whilst resting players in the EPL where they are not bothered where they finish. This would ruin the integrity and fair play of the league.A European competition with less prize money and smaller tv deals.
I think the line on hope is something that hit me when this was announced. You're just removing hope from any other club. You're taking the biggest teams in the game, removing them from a competition that is deemed the pinnacle of success for the sport and putting them in another league somewhere that no other club can touch? Disgraceful.Tweet

2 different points. Other clubs aren't getting any additional revenue anyway. They just don't have the exposure like these clubs have. PL would still be here with the same revenue, same broadcasting rights means- same revenue to all small clubs."They are just maximising the clubs revenue potential" by essentially ending the competition our players literally died fighting for.
League rules prohibit clubs from entering non-sanctioned tournaments, so hopefully the so called big 6 will not longer be a part of the league going forward.
Absolutely thisThey didn't die to play in Europe, they died because the football league made them rush back from Europe or they'd face an automatic loss because the FL were insecure about English teams playing in another competition.
I wish people wouldn't use their memory in a way that misrepresents what really happened.
As supposed to getting fecked over right now? YesYeah, because holding out for a few dollars today only to get completely fecked over a couple of years down the line is such a great idea.
Nah cause look on the other side.so we are siding with FIFA, UEFA, Boris Johnson and Piers Morgan? Are we the baddies?
It all depends on how they're marketed. City have come from a place with less "history" than Everton, so with the right backing, who knows?I think this is beyond naive. The reality is those 6 clubs hold all the cards and have for a long time which has only continued to grow. UEFA and the FA have done nothing to stop it while they were getting a slice. Do you seriously believe Everton or Leicester will be able to grow to the size they can fill that gap? The Premier League is a great product because of the top teams in it.
I must have missed the games this season where Ole rested players on Saturday...what with us playing a game every single midweek up until now.The selfish 6 cannot have this superleage and remain in the EPL, that is something that cannot happen, for the reasons already listed in this thread. Their team selections in midweek would be favoured towards a more lucrative competion, whilst resting players in the EPL where they are not bothered where they finish. This just won't happen, loath them or loath them you cannot deny the business acumen of NFL owners like the Glazers and Kroenke. They understand marketing and selling their sport to tv networks on a much deeper level than poor old UEFA or the PL. If this thing happens, and it certainly looks like it will, it will generate more cash and bigger ratings than any other club competition. If the PL, La Liga etc. decide to kick the clubs out then they will simply expand their business model and you will end up with 24 or 28 of the biggest clubs in Europe involved and the remaining competitions will wind up being little more than semi-pro.Will be interesting to see how this pans out.
I won’t pay to watch this super league. If there is enough of us who won’t, it really won’t be lucrative for long.
Imagine clubs come begging FA to come back in the PL, get a no and have the choice between an unpopular ESL, which the players also shun because of repercussions for national team selection, and starting back in the National League. If we’re ever getting rid of the Glazers and getting fan power back this could be how. Only silver lining i see atm...
