Never ceases to amaze me how much Maguire supporters will throw every other player under the bus.

Wan Bisakka should not be marking the opponents most dangerous players at set pieces while Maguire stands marking air. Thats the problem.

Maguire is supposed to be captain it is up to him to sort these things out on the field and be aware of the dangers.

Instead he is never in the right place at the right time and it keeps costing us.
Just say you don't understand zonal marking and move on.

It never ceases to amaze me how anyone who offers any kind of support to our players is labelled as being a supporter of an individual player. I support AWB as much as Maguire.
Ole and the coaches dictate zonal marking for our central defenders, not the Captain of the team. Finally very odd how he's one of the highest performing players in the league when dealing with aerial duels, but is never in the right place at the right time and keeps costing us? Maybe you need to look at that again.

I think this is the issue in our fan base when viewing Maguire. Blindly blaming on him without understanding the situation because it has been their habit.

Or maybe, just maybe, a good delivery from a corner aimed at someone who is strong in the air will occasionally result in a goal without any need to spend ages arguing about which individual defender is most to blame?
Every goal should be tagged to some defender, otherwise how can we prove how shit our defenders are.

Seriously though, I said same thing many times. You don't have to blame defenders for every goal. Opponents also create chances and score goals.

Our set piece defending as a team is very poor.

It’s been rubbish this season, alright. I was hoping a new keeper might fix things but it looks like, for all his positive qualities, Henderson is no more dominant in his six yard box than De Gea. Which is a problem.

I think from last 3 seasons it was a problem. We have conceded 11, 11, 12 league goals in last 3 seasons including this one.

Tbh I thought it was more than 11 goals this season.

It isn't though is it. Zonal marking is a tactical choice made by the coaches. AWB was marking JT on the edge of the box, he lost him and JT then had a run on the ball which made it extemely hard for Maguire to win the challenge because of physics.
We have seen both AWB and Fred struggle with this before. I have no idea really, but it feels like a difficult task, to stop a player running zigzag towards the ball without fouling him.

Another thing is also the way JT jumped. Because of his speed, he could jump very early and got on top of Maguire, so to say. I would say it was not only our failure, but also well done by him.

Harry Maguire confronted Ed Woodward after Manchester United players were left in dark over European Super League plans

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire confronted the club’s executive-vice chairman Ed Woodward for leaving the players in the dark over the club’s intention to join the European Super League.

United are one of six English clubs that have agreed to join the controversial proposal, which threatens the Red Devils’ future in the Premier League.

Reports of the plans started to come through on Sunday afternoon and United’s squad were ‘seriously unimpressed’ that they heard about the decision just hours before the 3-1 victory against Burnley at Old Trafford.

Woodward arranged a meeting with the players on Monday morning and members of the squad were said to not only be angry about the plan itself but the way in which they were informed, with the club failing to consult the squad before taking the decision.

Bruno Fernandes has already spoken out against the plans on social media but the Daily Mail claim Maguire led the players’ opposition to the proposal by confronting Woodward.

The United skipper was said to be furious with how the matter had been dealt with and the players were unhappy that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was left to be ‘thrown under a bus’ when he was questioned on the plans directly after the game.

Harry, who never even confronts referees, went and angrily confronted our CEO? Fecking hell, has he been hitting the bottle again

In fairness, confronting the refs is always a lost case, this was not.

It also said that the players were not happy that Ole was thrown under the bus regarding the SL plan.

Good to see players are fully backing the manager as well.

Our playmaker from the back.

I hate his overly forced hard long passes to the left but otherwise he's good at progressing the ball forward.

Forgot, did he pick up yellow in this match? Meaning he will miss next 2 games now?

He was booked, which was his 10th, but as we’ve passed GW 32, the threshold has been increased to 15 yellows (where he’d then face a 3 match ban)

Think he was ok but can do better. Anyway, it is comforting to know, that if our defence just do what we expect and not more, it’s enough for a clean sheet most of the time.

One small thing but annoying is when he goes up for a defensive aerial totally unthreatened, he doesn’t head it with accuracy, instead he clears it randomly and often right back to the opponent. He’s so dominant in the air that he should be able to control it better.

Looking over my shoulder.
Good again - I'm warming to him. Am I the only one who was surprised about his speed for their counter clean through on goal? Maybe their attacker wasn't the fastest, but Maguire more or less also outpaced McTominay, and he isn't slow. He's just a terrible, terrible header of the ball though. He's good/decent at clearing them as he is great at winning aerial battles, but accuracy is all over the place.
