Why are we the only team that seem to be able to do a number on those Berties?
I'm hoping PSG have similar attributes to us and can play them the same way.

I still don't think this City team are all that. It's been the perfect time to phase out Aguero with the standard all round being pretty rubbish but a good team with certain characteristics can put them away.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
Sick of watching City winning everything.
Its been going on for too long now
It’s only just starting. Gary Neville et al are now pushing for fairer distribution of TV money across the leagues. City could have no tv money and still spend what they do - they are bankrolled by a nation state - whilst the rest will have to spend less thus increasing the gap even further. Maybe when they win 8 of the next 10 titles people will start to wake up.

Thought the same.

Genius is Fergie, Brian Clough, guys who defeated the odds.

Winning stuff whilst always having the best group of players and the most money certainly isn't genius territory.
Exactly this. Nothing genius about dominating a competition that no one else has the luxury of a second eleven to play in it.

The likes of Ferguson and Clough are a tier above and accomplished amazing feats using home grown players and building real functional teams from what they had available.

Yep, Fergie bravely battled those odds with us all those years

Yeah City sums up exactly why I don't want the Saudi's ever owning us

They have spent billions on that team and have the best manager, of course they are. Until we spend serious money it won't change.
Agree, more money needs to be spent

However, last summer, we bought Van de Beek for £40m, Diallo for £37m, and Telles for £15m. That's over £90m spent on bench options. We continue to spend money badly.

Money went up just at the wrong time for us.
Could you imagine having Fergie overseeing the money we've wazzed away?

So many of these soft fouls where a slight clip sends the guy down screaming. The lack of crowds really has exposed how much the players milk it.

We are not even sure if it has been spent badly unless he actually give these players good playing time, not a bit here and there. Also 15m is not bad for a backup to Shaw, it did wonders for Luke. City would spend £50 on a bench warmer.

VdB wasn't 40m nor was Diallo 37m.

At least get your figures right rather than bending them to suit your agenda.

Worrying that Amad has seemingly been booted back to U23's now Mata is back
Definitely one to be massively patient with.

The fee being so high has probably made us think he's closer to being a regular squaddie than he really is seen as.

Is his "agenda" (CAFE FAVOURITE WORD ALERT) any different if 40m becomes 35 for Van B, or if we slot the phrase "fee could end up as" 37m for Diallo? Our of interest?

Obviously yes it is?

If we end up paying 37m for Amad then he'll of achieved all his add ons and become a top asset for the club.

Inflating DvB fee by 5m is another sly move.

Fair enough on Telles

However, I think the money spent on VDB could have been better spent improving other areas of the squad. Diallo looks nowhere near ready for starting first team football; he seems a very extravagant signing especially when we've got obvious holes in the squad.

They are both fairly hefty fees though. When we could have gone big on a real game changer.

It's simply disingenuous to inflate fees though to try and prove some shitty point. Telles has been fine for £15m and has helped us get more from Shaw. Amad has been bought for the future and looks a real talent (another couple of goals and top performance against Chelsea U23s the other day). DvB is the only one you could really complain about at this point.

Agenda? There's no agenda, so don't know where you've got that from.

I don't know exact figures, just going off what was reported by credible sources in the media at the time.

Nothing to do with agenda; i can see with my own eyes. Our strongest eleven this season is the same as last season. The signings have not improved the first eleven, so apart from Telles giving Shaw a kick up the arse, we could have spent the money better.

IMO the summer before was worse than last summer. £35-40m for VdB or Diallo is better than £80m for Maguire or £50m for AWB. Also got a WC no9 without any fee. And I prefer paying £35m for Diallo than paying £20m for James too.
