Yeah I just put that few comments above.

Quite incredible really but just goes to show that the doubters (I'm one of them) are right. This guy has the talent and yet somehow it doesn't transpire into performances too often.

He was great 2nd half but we need to see that way more than we do. Bruno is the consistent one. He's clear.
Clueless if you're judging midfielders on goals. You'd think, after players like Iniesta have come and gone, some of us would be wiser.

It was just the 1st 3 games when he shouldn't have played, he had another 2 or 3 bad games after that and nothing more. That's out of the 37 games he played.

That's consistent for me, and probably more than any other player this season not named Luke Shaw.
im a fan of his, and ultimately want him to stay and be successful (I not a fanboi of his…). But I don’t think he’s consistent, and he’s never nailed down a best position in the 11. I accept that.

Could be playing out of his skin now for his new contract with us or for window shopping!

Hope he keeps it up after signing a new contract with us.

Hahahahaha

Yeah silly me for wanting our 90m attack minded midfielder to score a few more goals.

What am I like.

People like you are the ones who say he's our best player despite Bruno being clear.

Fair play for saying that. His fan boys won't like it.

Pogba has all the talent in the world. It often doesn't transpire into performances like we saw today. If he played like that 7 to 8 weeks out of every 10 we'd all be happy.

So when his manager sticks him in a double pivot, he should ignore instructions and go all out just to prove a point to the lies of you?

Do you get a kick out of being unreasonable?

Does anyone seriously think Pogba only plays well to get a contract boost? The lad loves football and today he had the space and time to look fantastic. He has though been very good for most of this season.

Honestly, it must kill some of you to see him perform well if you're so desperate to be negative after a night like this and such a good performance

Calling posters you don't agree with fan boys doesn't make you look smart or funny. It makes you look silly. That's me being kind.

He's been consistently good for United this season. He's also scored some really important goals. Like the one against Milan (you know, the reason we were able to play Roma tonight).

Pogba could add more goals to his game and you'd still find something to whinge about. You don't like him and there isn't anything that will change your mind about him.

Scott Mctomminay has 7 goals this season from that role hasn't he?

agree. The problem often with forums is its black or white, ones and zeros - the extremes. Pogba is not a great player, he’s also not Djemba x 2. Five years in, we are still waiting for things to click, and for him to make the step up.

a couple of years ago, I thought his late runs into the box reminded me of Robson, and thought he could be that sort of goal scoring midfielder. Loved his performance today, but I still don’t know where he really fits in. I want him in the 11, and perhaps this left sided midfield role is where he’s best?

I was not serious.

But, it is how a human usually behaves in this kind of situation. So, it is possible.

That poster doesn't understand how midfielders play different roles. Just look at what they wrote about Rice in another thread:

Whether you like Rice or not, goals scored is not a statistic to measure a player like Rice by. It's the same for Bruno and Pogba.
Yeah it’s bizarre because they’re constantly ignoring any evidence to the contrary. Pogba has consistently produced result defining moments this season but that doesn’t matter because he hasn’t scored at Old Trafford in 2 years.

The first few months of the season were also a write off because of the obvious lingering effects of Covid, he’s been a different player physically in 2021 and that’s shown in his performance levels.

No wonder he wants to go with how our fans treat him

Always a conspiracy. Always an angle. Always to blame. Never given the credit he deserves.

He plays well nearly every time he plays these days and there’s still the same old people posting rubbish in this thread. The only thing more consistent than his current performance level is the constant criticism of his so called inconsistency.

Spot on. In fact with him in the side we have consistently been in title winning or atleast competing form.

He kept us in the EL too.

People see what they want and he is everyone's favourite scapegoat. First to blame and last to praise. And any praise will come with a caveat.

He's scored in his first goal at OT in 2 years tonight.

The criticism is justified. He was great secind half today but the fact it's his first goal at home in 2 years shows he's not done the business enough.

Super footballer, another great performance tonight. If anything he’s getting better.

The penalty was unfortunate. It was the correct decision, but unfortanate. I equate it to any kind of tackle - a player could make a legitimate attempt to win the ball, mistime it, and take the other players’ legs and it’s a foul. Same situation here, it’s legitimate but his hands are way up. Just one of those.

But yeah, great player. I’m sure he’ll stay, which club is going to be better for him right now? This is an exciting team to be a part of.

If you measure midfielders purely by home goals then I personally will never be able to have a football discussion with you. That’s just me though I guess.

He was fantastic tonight. We missed him badly while he was injured and since he’s come back we’ve been a force again like we were before he got injured. I’ve posted about every game since the start of December. At worst he’s had a handful of decent games and a couple of poor one....the rest ranging from good to great.

After a performance like tonight, and this season I honestly give up.

Well no I measure it on more than that.

Has Paul Pogba done enough for us over 5 years? Has he delivered enough? Yes or No?

For me he hasn't. That's not to say I don't think he's talented because he is. But we haven't seen it.

If I was rating Bruno signing I'd say a solid 9 out of 10.

Pogba signing has been a 6 or 6.5 at a push. It's not been the roaring success we all hoped has it?

Former players who have forgot more about the game than you will ever know agree with me.

Paul Pogba is the ultimate enigma. He's a huge talent which we somehow haven't managed to spark into life enough.

How many times have we been here? His agent is still a cnut and there's a very good chance he's turned it on for the Euros and a new contract and will go to shite again shortly afterwards. I hope not as when he want's it he's unplayable and head and shoulders above anyone in our team, but it's all if he can be arsed. I'm not a h8eR, just realistic.

Most of our team has been poor on average over the last five years. Surely you realise it’s more than individual player quality that’s held us back?

I am just laughing at this.
It's true, last year all everyone's shited on about was that he was taking injury untill he could leave. Aged well that.

Whenever he has a good game people either say but he is not consistent or he is only doing it to leave! It's madness.

Season or two before that he had our most goal contributions and most everything and was getting boo'd and abused on the final day of the season like he was to blame for the fact we where bad.

To add insult two injury Ashley Young and Herrera who was leaving where having their name sung.

People have an irrational hatred towards Pogba.

He's been quite consistent once he got to full fitness just before Christmas. I imagine how different this season would look like if he didn't get injured in the new year. Hopefully he signs a new contract or we sign him up.

Dunno how people can say he’s not been consistent, been great all season. I get in the past people have had their doubts but the attacking players have very obviously clicked this season, the chemistry is unreal. Only thing letting us down now is our defensive players. We’ve had a lot of consistently good performers this year, probably why we’re second and essentially have a foot in the door for the EL final.

If Rashford-Martial-Greenwood as a trio were on post-lockdown form throughout the season or thereabouts, we'd probably be in 1st right now.

When he's on form he's our best outfield player. It's that simple.

If we could keep him fit and motivated, we'd have one football's great talents. As it is, we only get it in glimpses.

But as much as I despise Raoila and would love nothing more than to never see him near our club again, we'd be a worse football team if we sold Pogba.

Him going to ground in our own penalty area is a disaster. I'd rather he stay on his feet

The formation we play where it's like a 442 without wingers is great for him. With Bruno and him, it means the pressure isn't fully on one of them meaning they both seem free from double marking

We were top or thereabouts when he got injured vs Everton? Would have been interesting final few games had he stayed fit through that period where we dropped silly points
