Ridiculous. Its like Bruno doesn't exist anymore because we 'assume' a midfielder to score 26 goals and 18 assists in his first full season at united.

Listen to yourselves and shake your head a little. A left back will never be the best player in any team with ambitions to win league or CL. Period.
Bruno has been good, at times great, at times very poor. Shaw has been consistently top notch. That’s not hyperbole. That’s fact

btw you mentioned maldini. For several seasons he was their best player

You can swap their names and it would still be true. I will take someone who delivers as many G+A as Bruno has over a left back anyday. This forum loves to exaggerate performances both ways.

Thank you very much.

Plenty of others to choose from if we’re that bad

No one said Shaw has been bad. He is just not the best player on this team, that's hyperbole and you know it.

If Bruno has been poor at times, Shaw has made plenty of mistakes. Just one the other day against Roma for their 2nd goal. It goes unnoticed when we win anyway.

He didn't step up quite quick enough. To be honest, I can't think of many (any?) more significant mistakes. It seems your argument runs something like a) reference maldini comment (which I certainly didn't see and imagine was tongue in cheek anyway) b) make subjective statements and frame them as fact (Shaw is not the best player on the team and you know it) c) reference Shaw's 'mistake' against Roma d) sneer vaguely about how going over the top is 'typical caf'. Rinse and repeat

Luke Shaw's level has become world class this year, I also think Mason has came through a rocky patch partly caused by the errors of youth and the dreadful management of Southgate, but he's gotten back on track and his all round game is showing marked improvement. I also feel AWB has shown a lot of improvement on the ball.

I mean, Shaw is obviously the standout candidate for this topic, but let's not be ridiculous now. If Fernandes has been very poor at times, then we don't brush Shaw's performances up until November under the carpet - he had a fairly underwhelming start to the season and didn't hit this form until around the Leeds home game.

Best player over the second half of the season? Sure, especially since Fernandes and Rashford have both slowed down in the last couple of months while Shaw's been on fire.

I disagree. Shaw for me still gets caught out of position frequently, we haven't been punished for it because we control the ball better and have 2 defensive midfielders playing most of the time. It is true he has been really good going forward but the bar for being the best in the league is very high for me. People just go over the top here too easy.
So, what's your advice to him? Keep to your defensive duties and never mind attack? Managers prefer wingbacks. They can defend and in case of Shaw, make major contribution to attack.

People go over the top on every football website you'd care to mention. We're supporters which means we are emotionally invested. If a player isn't playing at his usual standard then we castigate him. But if he plays like Cavani or Fernandes or Greenwood did against Roma then we put them on a pedestal for a few days.

Its shaw everyday of the week and twice on sundays. He showed what being United player is all about. we signed telles his position was under threat so worked harder tried hard and played better. If every player had his desire and hunger we would be walking the league

In my eyes almost everyone has improved even if a little. The exceptions are, from our starters are:
Bruno: ridiculously good, he did need to improve anyway.
Rashford: probably due to playing through injury.

Most improved are Pogba and Shaw, with the latter getting my vote due to his consistency.
