The last eight years have had nothing to do with the complete lack of investment during the years prior to it?

The stadium might not have been so easy to breach had they not left it to stagnate for so long.
What lack of investment? We broke the British transfer fee twice.

Find someone that they actually like willing to put together £3bn or so to buy the club, or any other viable solution to the problem.

It’s quite clear Glazers will not just write off a £3bn+ assets because of a few hundred people storming the stadium.

I just struggle to understand what the actual message and expectation is. With every protest there is supposed to be a clear expectation of a certain action, I fail to see what it is here. It’s ‘we hate you and we want you out’ but without really presenting how this is supposed to happen and what is the end product. Would us being taken over by Saudis be fine? By any other ownership group?
Agreed

I've always though an in match protest would make the most headlines. Fans leaving after 30 minutes or something, or turning their backs on the game

My Gillette Soccer Sunday was ruined today, I'm going to have a Coors Light Taste The Difference to get over it.

Are you being serious? Short sighted. Bet you’ll whinge about glazers without doing a thing.
I don’t really have that big of an issue with the Glazers. There are worse owners out there and I’d say the realistic alternatives are definitely worse

You'd prefer methods that don't actually impact the thing thats being protested? Good luck with that.
Who has this impacted? The team or the owners? The former. The owners don’t give a damn, and this isn’t going to change that.

Fans should buy club and transfer debt over to club when it goes through, oh wait

Disrupting games and/or not attending games is what fans can do.

The reality is you have to hurt the team to hurt the Glazers, they bank on love for the club outweighing hatred for the Glazers and for 15 years that’s been the case. People who are more concerned about the match being cancelled and not being able to watch it than the protest is what the Glazers want.

Nobody gives a feck about your afternoon in the grand scheme of things. If the fans want change this must continue.
 Cloud cuckoo land. If the fans want change they should start buying up shares when they become available

Call it extreme if you like, but I propose we hit them hard and hit them fast with a major, and I mean major, leaflet campaign.

Focus on the real issues. Is it a bun, roll or a barm.

One of the biggest games in football being postponed because of angry fans is a global news story. The Glazers will definitely give a damn about this.

The club's ability to invest its own money, which has been significantly reduced in order to cover their debts, is not investment.

We did not break the British transfer record prior to the post-Ferguson slump; imagine how successful we might have been since, had Ferguson been able to leave with a team that had been sufficiently funded.

I'd love to see that be productive enough to work. Unfortunately I don't think those who care enough can make enough of an impact with enough people ready to take their place.

I would really love to be wrong.
Well if there aren’t enough who care enough, then perhaps the cause isn’t as worthy as the protesters believe.

They really won’t because those same fans will still be subbed to the likes of Sky and BT. They will still be buying next season’s kit and they will still be paying for tickets to OT. They will no doubt hear about it, but they won’t care about it.

I'm against it because it's not going to achieve anything. This will be in the media for a few days and that's it. The Glazers don't care about any of this. If stuff like this continues it will hurt United more than the Glazers - they will wait it out like all the protests before. This is basically a tantrum and they will treat it like one...

The only way to force the Glazers out is to pressure the politicians to legislate 50+1, no other protest will be successful. These protesters should go to London and do this in front of the parliament, not Lowry and Old Trafford... Pressure the politicians who care about being re-elected - that's the only way to go, if you want something to change.

What do you think fans should do instead? I'd love to see some alternatives.
Protests without maiming and disfiguring someone who is there to uphold the peace.

And no, it's not "unfortunate". It's unforgivable.

Depends if it's an isolated incident or not.

I wanted to see the game and scousers to miss out on CL today but yeah I can't be against it, the message is stronger when it got postponed. It certainly worked. Not sure if that helps to get Glazers to sell the club and in case it happens if there is another seriously football-oriented and better owner to bail us out but this way boycotting home games we could just run away with the title judging our performances away from home right?:-)

I'd like to know what they've been doing for the last 16 years.
Surely, if they're this fired up, they will have been out every day protesting, won't they?

This was a huge win for the fans, better than beating the Scousers. See the bigger picture.
I'm interested in whether any fans genuinely feel happy about today, or just feel it's a but crap but a necessary evil?

I can see the second view, but not the first one. That just felt a depressing total waste of time for an afternoon to me.

Green and gold innit.
Until the club is...well you know the rest.

“You have to start somewhere”
You seriously haven't got a clue. The public float is like 20% of the value of the club and as others have said, the Glazer family retains full control of the club.

This is even worse than Arsenal where Kroenke forced out Uzmanov despite the latter having a 30% voting stake.

I suggest you educate yourself on some of these topics before trying to play the smartass.

Dont cause damage to the stadium or the equipment in the ground, climbing on top of the nets etc.
Have the protest, block the hotel so the match cant go ahead but dont think storming onto the pitch was the best idea.

If they want the glazers to leave then the protests need to happen every home game, boycott the match when fans are allowed back in as well.

Peaceful "protest" is an absurd concept and would demand a charismatic figure in the leadership.

Literally the only people this has damaged are the people who work hard to prepare for the games we all love to watch. The people you all actually support, not the Glazers.

You have to pinch them where it matters: money. When the whole stadiums open up again, dont go to old trafford. They would listen then because they hate losing money.
