Lots of talk about Bengal I see. I am a resident bengali from a small city in Bengal. People are relieved to see BJP has lost. However, TMC is not a great party. It doesn't work to create jobs for common people. However, it has done enough for absolute poor people to help secure their votes. As far violence, WB always face violence pre and post poll and it is not new this time. The political leaders are absolutely horrible here, and sadly it seems to continue this time also. I would say, the lesser of the two evils have won, but it is still evil who has been victorious.

Right now there are allegations of two gangrape that is shared by local news reporter as well. And sexual violence by that mob isn't suprising considering the visual that is coming out of Bengal. Let's take a step back here and realise every political party in India is full of cnuts and most "workers" of these political party are goons. BJP has the highest amount no doubt about that but in Bengal, TMC is way above any political party.

That's the sad reality of this country. It's easier to comment on "what average Indian voter" care about by reading few articles from their favourite news organization. The truth is most are clueless about what people are facing on daily basis and why people prefer political party that they prefer. I lived through the 90's in Bihar and have witnessed the political violence unleased by these so called secular party. Demographic shift hardly impacts any of us while it's a reality for a huge part of this country. It's not a black and white choice as people who post here make it sound like.
It's easier to just call anyone who isnt left leaning Hindu or other religion as brainwashed as I saw one poster doing. The reality is much more complicated. This thread despite raising a lot of valid points drifts in biased territory because the poster here just care about being anti BJP and characterize everyone who vote for them as fascist which couldn't be further from truth.

There is now no question that some TMC supporters, like they've historically been accused of, have committed acts of violence against BJP post the election-wins. There is no excusing this, and they should identified and punished. But there is also no question that many BJP supporters, the media lackeys and senior spokespersons have latched on to this as an opportunity to exaggerate and spread fake news against the party itself in order to incite emotions and further violence. The clear evidence of a widespread campaign indiciates the usual involvement of higher-ups.
You can replace Bengal and TMC with <RANDOM STATE> and <RANDOM_STATE_OPPOSITION_PARTY_WHO_WON> and the narrative will be exactly the same. I have personally witnessed this with Telangana and TRS.

Go through his timeline, and you'll see the clear bias. Not a word of condemnation against Modi or Shah for their roadshow boasts, but 'concern' when it is alleged violence by TMC. Again, before the usual faux outrage breaks out - not condoning the violence. I hope it is punished.
What ought to be very concerning here is the ease with which all cogs of democracy sway to BJP whenever Modi needs them to. Governors, SCs, Media, EC. I will not say the f word, it has been used before.
