Is there anything Redcafe could do to help target the owners?

Given we're a decent-sized body of (mostly) United fans, I was wondering if there was anything we could be co-ordinated into doing that would even slightly add to the ongoing push-back against the Glazers?

I'm thinking of things like the below:

If people think things like that have any sort of impact then presumably we could add to it with relatively little effort? It's not like leaving a review is particularly time consuming or difficult. And companies don't have that many reviews on the likes of trustpilot (982 for TeamViewer according to that screenshot), so they're fairly easily impacted. Plus companies do put effort into getting good scores on those sort of sites. And if nothing else it's already being reported in the Times, so some notice has been taken of it.

Or would it just be a waste of time and there's nothing we can really do?

Thoughts?

I think that's asking too much of the Caf staff.

we should do one of those forum stories where you only post one word at a time and the next poster posts one word and carries the story on. once the novel is complete, we can send it to the club/publish it to fund the next protest.

I’ve left a review on trustpilot. TeamViewer aren’t going to be happy.

Nothing the fans can do except pretend the protest will even work. The Glazers are probably just laughing there asses off.

I don't think it would be that difficult to create a thread, nominate one of our bazillion sponsors every day, throw up the links to their profile on sites like trustpilot to make it convenient and let anyone who's interested help tank their reviews.

Given the caf is mostly people complaining about stuff, you'd think posting one bad review a day every day would be fairly within our wheelhouse.

God knows there were enough people complaining about both the protesters and the internet fans who weren't doing anything. Well, here's the sort of (minor) thing internet fans could do.

Yeah, gimmie access to one of the Caf's servers to use it as a mask and we'll be on the news real quick.

Few bad reviews on yelp isn't going to anything.

Any marketing types with suggestions for having a negative impact on traffic to their websites? Anything that could be done to affect their SEO? Genuinely curious and more than happy to get involved.

The Trustpilot thing is good but they'll probably remove all the negative reviews, I'd imagine.

Well done you, very helpful.

Not.
Dry up you fecking bellend.

You have been against the protests at the weekend. Now you’re calling fans whom are at least trying to do something to get the club back ‘scum’.

You’re a fecking cock pal. And an absolute joke of a fan.

Now, feck off.

Aside from sponsors, why not target politicians in Manchester (or the UK generally) with emails highlighting our concern and the need for reform around ownership?

Again, it's not particularly difficult stuff. Just a matter of posting the relevant contact details and asking posters to send them an email, even if it's just a template one.

Up yours, pal!

I was not against the protests, just the breaking in and violence.

Anyone who attacks sponsors is scum, it's not their fault and they shouldn't be dragged into this. What boils my piss is the holier than thou who think just because you don't totally agree with what they say you're not a true fan. That's bollocks. Not even considering the consequences of getting rid of the Glazers is short-sighted in the extreme, but if you don't agree with them, you're a Glazer shill. It's just pathetic and does no one any good.

They're sponsors, not a school full of orphaned children. Pressuring sponsors is a fairly standard form of protest.

Yeah getting rid of the glazers is short-sighted in the extreme alright. A family that leeches off the club whilst putting in minimum investment back in — yeah how short-sighted to want owners whom will actually invest in the stadium and the surrounding areas.

Also, direct action against the sponsors is a necessity at this point in time but you won’t get it since you’ve already stated it’s short sighted to get rid of the Glazers.

Getting rid of the Glazers to get new owners who will take even more from the club. What a great idea.

Why is targeting sponsors a necessity? So you can ruin our club's reputation with any potential future sponsor.Another brilliant idea. You lot are full of them.

This is a bad idea. You are hitting a company who has absolutely no idea or control about what's happening on united side. Guess what, Glazers could just sell it or choose not to invest and our future sponsorship deals could be severely impacted. What makes you think that our future sponsors wouldn't be treated the same way even if the Glazers sell the club? If you hit their products, it would make sense atleast.

Well, “better the devil you know” then. Going by your logic, no one ever should take a stand against anything because there is no way of knowing that things will get better. Bizarre attitude.

Yeah, crippling the operation of the club in the short term is what matters. If we get points docked. If we get thrown out of the league — then so be it. It will damage United but it will still be United and I’d still support us as will millions of other fans. At least we’ll get the prawn sandwich brigade to feck off finally.

I'm all for getting rid if, and it's a big if, you can guarantee that any new owner will be better.

As for the second part of your post, I'm not going to say wt I really think because I'll get banned. Suffice to say, it's a pathetic attitude.

So why do you want to Glazers out then?

I mean I at least get the people that don't want the Glazers to take out around 40 million a year, because they want that money to be invested in the club so we can become even more successful. That's something I can understand, although I don't believe we will find an investor that is going to spend 4 billion and wants a return of less than 1%.

But you actually don't care about winning at all, you just want the Glazers gone. You pretty much hate the Glazers, you don't love united at all.

Holy feck. There is 2 pages of 1-star reviews added within last 30 mins for team viewer on trustpilot.

This thread reminds me of late 2018, when many folks here swore that Mourinho was sacked because Ed had been reading the multiple "Mou Out" threads in the Caf for weeks.

Laughable.

I would just ask any fan to do whatever they can to help the cause. Be it liking a Glazer Out tweet or turning up at OT. They want you to think you can't make a difference. Together we are stronger.

People saying it's not going to do anything couldn't be any more wrong. If it gets more attention then not only the current sponsors will notice but the potential new ones too. Nobody wants to be in a storm of negativity and right now, we are 100% not attractive to our current sponsors or the new ones.

Obvious fake reviews can be removed.
I'm sure they will be, or at least the ones that obviously cite the Glazers.

But if it gets mentioned a lot online and reported in the likes of The Telegraph and The Times (as it already has been) then at least it's added to the narrative around the club in the meantime, even in a small way.

It's not like anyone is claiming bad reviews and social media protesting will bring the Glazers to their knees. But they do help add to the noise around the club. Which is more than doing absolutely nothing does.

Ditto when it comes to contacting politicians to raise issues. It won't magically solve anything but it isn't valueless either.

This is actually quite a decent idea. @sullydnl I would suggest you start this thread yourself and all of us who are serious about this initiative could contribute. There's no point trying to convince or engage with naysayers. If they haven't understood in 16 years, they won't understand now.

I think we can all agree that any new owner/ownership structure at a minimum must be operating with a balance sheet clear of massive debt.

That will do for starters.
