He sold Stam, kicked a boot at Becks, got rid of Roy. He had flaws. Most important man in our history, but let’s be even handed about it. He was in charge for two decades. He got some shit wrong. Move along.

We're only 10 points off City now with a decent rather than great team. Fergie alone would make up that gap before even discuss better players.

I think the only adjustment would be a bigger, better squad. To allow us to rotate and keep the standard up.
And not playing the likes of Cleverley and Anderson in midfield!

Yeah well same thing really. I wonder sometimes if he found it a bit easy and wanted a challenge. Let's win the league with Cleverley and O'Shea. Make it interesting.

Don't think you could get away with it now but that's an easy adjustment.

I get goosebumps just watching that trailer. Will wait for the official release to do it justice

Looks interesting but there's one thing I've always wanted to know.

I wonder if he regrets his comments to United fans in that airport in August 2005. "Go and watch Chelsea" was a huge insult to people who had spent 30 years + watching United home and away.

Is this going to be released across the world, or just in UK?
It says at the end of the trailer on the last page that it's out in UK cinemas May 27th, but released internationally to rent or buy on May 31st so yes it'll be available across the world.

It´s a really good story of a remarkable human being.
Was a fantastic watch for me and with the epic final in Barcelona being the finale of the movie as well.
That really nailed it home for me as I was instantly sent 22 years back in time crying in the stands of Camp Nou.
I just ended up feeling sorry for him having to look at the club he helped build (or built) being dismantled and taken apart by the current owners.

What is this Mega thingy? I started watching it in the browser, but it suddenly stopped after 30 mins or so and told me I have to register and pay to watch the rest.
Funnily, you're allowed to download the whole thing because the free user download quota is larger than the size of the film. Streaming, though? You only get to watch ~35 minutes.

I ended up using a VPN to download it after it told me I had to pay money to continue.

Watched it. Nothing new in terms of info but it's some powerful, emotional stuff.

Get it on for the players before the final.

Loved it, huge thanks to the uploader. A few things;

It never occured to me how much of his man management ability came through an understanding of his own experiences. Obvious I guess, but a zen-like level of self awareness to utilize outward. Impressive. Also;

It went straight from the end of his playing days to Aberdeen. Would've been interesting to see that, but nevermind. All good regardless.
Other than brief flashes, and the hospitalisation, it basically ended with the treble. I think one of his most impressive achievements was the way he continued to evolve and win despite challenges like Roman's Chelsea, at an age most managers were past it.
Related to that second point, no mention at all of the first retirement possibility or the reasons involved. That would have been interesting.

Very, very good in all though. Easily the most compelling and well made of the Fergie docs I've seen.

The sequence where they return to Fergie on the picket line with the workers singing and cutting to the Nou Camp bouncing had me in bits.

Brilliant.

This was a fantastic watch, and I'm glad that a documentary on Ferguson was made. The last one I remember was a 1998 TV special by ITV called "The Sir Alex Ferguson story", but he's obviously entrenched himself as the greatest manager ever since then and we really needed some documentary about him. This was good, and reminded me of what it used to feel watching United under Ferguson.

Dig up stupid!
There's really nothing new in there from a football side of things but the details of his illness and recovery were interesting and the old interview footage of his Aberdeen days was a great example of the drive he had (the steel in young fergies eyes is a sight to behold). The strength of this man's character over such a huge length of time is a genuine phenomenon

It's just wonderful to see the great man looking strong and well

Let's be honest, 98/99 was the greatest season by any English football club ever.

To win THE treble in the way that we did was phenomenal:
> 33 game unbeaten run across all competitions
> Schmeichel making his only ever penalty save for Utd, with what would've been the last kick of the game in the FA Cup semi-final replay - he kept the treble dream alive
> Giggs then going on to score his greatest ever goal for Utd, against some of the best defenders the English game has ever seen
> never lost a single match in that season's Champions League campaign
> the two goals in added on time in the Champions League Final to achieve THE treble.

I will be eternally grateful to Sir Alex Ferguson for that special season - the likes of which I don't believe will ever be achieved by an English club ever again.

That season was fantastic.
The documentary is fantastic.
Give it a watch.

Re CL campaign and you have to also factor in the route to the final - we got ridiculously hard draws: Barca AND Bayern in our group, followed by Inter, Juve and then Bayern again. You also had the added spice of Beckham reuniting with Simeone after the WC in the Inter game, Scholes/Keane suspensions and, obviously, the last minute winner.

According to some on here not that long ago, Inter and Juve were crap and Bayern had a harder run by beating one of the best teams in the world in Dynamo Kiev on the way to the final.

Having watched it and read his books, you couldn’t be more wrong.

Lads, it’s a team barely scraping top 10 in a miserable La Liga. We could play our round 3 in the League cup-team and still beat them easily. Villarreal are crap, gone are the days of Riquelme and Forlan.
