We controlled the game really
They scored a great goal but we didn’t panic and had a better 2nd half
Let’s beat Leicester and guarantee champions league
Enjoyed the game

Dean Smith's not happy with the penalty

Aston Villa boss Dean Smith, speaking to Sky Sports: "The first five minutes we didn't start very well but then played really well in the first half, high-pressed them and got a deserved goal. The penalty decision affected us more than it did them."

On United's penalty: "I don't think anybody knows, everybody is confused how Raheem Sterling can go through and have four or five touches on him last night and not get a penalty, then one touch here and it is a penalty - it looked a pathetic decision to me, but he goes down, similar to Old Trafford and last season here.

"Ollie Watkins has got sent off for a second yellow, there is no way the referee can tell me he is convinced he hasn't been touched. I just don't understand the decision-making of the officials and more importantly at Stockley Park.

"It looks like now he has to get hurt to win the penalty - is it enough contact for a penalty, no."
Not sure what he's not seeing there, he's kicked Pogba up the leg and gotten nowhere near the ball. It wasn't even remotely soft. His own players were screaming at Luiz for being stupid, which he was.

Great to get the win, but if we're being honest, Villa gifted us a way back into the match, and from there on out, we grew into it.
I thought Pogba was looking for it tbh. Not that it wasn't a foul, it just seemed like Pogba was trying to draw it and succeeded. Not exactly pretty but a legit tactic

Thought it was a cracking game.

Henderson getting better with each game
Maguire looking class
Shaw Mr. Reliable
Pogba MOTM
Greenwood looks to have his confidence back
Cavani 's presence just seems to lift everyone

Mctominay had his worst game for a while
Lindelof not good enough.

lot of credit goes to the manager

Dean Smith is a whiny cnut. He’s lucky the goal line technology stopped working last season or he’d be preparing for the Play Offs.

How can he complain? He kicked through Pogba and if you see it from behind you see how he kicked Pogba off balance. Wasn’t even theatrical just a terrible tackle.

Yeah it was fine with sprinkles of real quality. Individual defensive lapses and a few frustrating decisions further up field cannot take away from a strong performance overall.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
If Southgate picks Mings for the Euros, then I should go... and I'm not even English.

Burnley level.

Never felt nervy that... partly as we comeback so many times and partly as Villa are average.

Still seeing some growth in team but cut some small mistakes, make a couple of top transfers in and we're a very good team.

Get in. Would have been a disaster dropping points in this one.

Maguires injury is a massive concern.

Are we not guaranteed top 4 with that win by the way?
We’d need to lose every game by two with West Ham winning every game by 3 on average to not finish top four. And Leicester would still require 7 points from three games for that to matter.

Lindelof is probably the biggest fraud after Darmian but at least the Italian didn't cost that much. Shambolic by Ole if he keeps playing him. Just fecking sell him.

McTominay nothing player, wouldn't start for any of the TOP15 teams in the league, can't control the ball anticipate pass, he's just there to make numbers. Great he stepped up when we needed him, now it's time to upgrade him.

Cavani' s a top player, only sums up 33 yo, outperforms massively Martial - "the golden boy"

Greenwood great finish, Rashy's great assists from aunnatural role.

People blaming Fred for the first goal, jesus christ  nice one touch lay off to on his heels asleep McTominay. Been in great form recently bar a couple of mistakes, pretty much 5th defender every time we need to defend and cover, and in seconds he's on the other side of the pitch always available always closing down space and quick play to complement more "keep the ball" players.

Pogba is great, let's just nto play him deep, it's even worth shifting Rashford on the right. clever play for the pen, although stupid from Luiz.

Hendo kinda lucky, I think Watkins dived yeah but one of those situations where he could get a nasty one if he didnt anticipate it. Shouldn't be a booking imo. very harsh for second yellow.

Fingers crossed for HM to be fit I can see Lindelof leaking goals with Bailly without any run of games too.
McTomoninay does start for a top 15 team though. We're second actually.

The Pogba penalty is not even debatable. It’s just become a convenient stereotype to attack Man Utd for a penalty decision to blindside fans from their poor performance and throwing away a lead.

Excellent result - need the Toffees to peg back the Hammers and it's Champions League by the end of today isn't it?
I'd rather West Ham won, to keep Liverpool in 6th. We'd have to lose all 4 of our remaining games and West Ham would have to win all four whilst making up a -20 GD on us to keep us out of the top 4. Both of Leicester and Chelsea can't finish on maximum points either since they're both still to play each other.

Superior GD also means 1 more win just about secures 2nd.

Idiot. Even his own players were asking Luiz what he was playing at.

Having 3 bites at Pogba, of all people, from behind in the box. You won't see a more brainless decision this season.

Easy game once again. I think we have found a formula. This was last main goal in this progress before we start winning trophies.

Great work from Solskjaer and the staff.

Not really 'if' we purchase the right players to improve key areas we'll be fine. Cavani will be a bigger miss than Pogba for me. We shall have to wait and see what the owners do, as who'd want to join a club where the fans are trying to affect the clubs owners by targeting that team & sponsors.

Enjoyed that second half, our front players were just way to good for Villa, Maguire and Shaw very good in defence.
Pogba's is simple. If he leaves, sign Grealish.

In attack, as much as I like Cavani, having Greenwood compete with another goalscorer would be as beneficial if they have the dual support that Pogba and Bruno are currently providing. Plus we can improve our central midfield. I don't see the reason for any doom and gloom there.

It's ridiculous to question the Pogba penalty, that's 100% clear. He's right about Sterling and Watkins though. That yellow on Watkins was absurd. And how Sterling doesn't get a penalty yesterday, I do not understand.

We secured top 4 with today's win so can be much more relaxed for rest of the season in the league.

This comebacks are so fun but man I'd like if we didn't have to make them almost every time

The lads made us suffer again, pretty soon opposition managers will be telling their teams as they run out ... " ffs, let United score first";)

"What a difference 'a Cavani' makes.....
...15 goals in his first season,
What difference Edison makes, to Ole's team "

(all to the tune 'what a difference a day makes')

Like the Roma game where we were very unfortunate to go in behind, it was very welcoming to have faith at half time rewarded. We’re a good team and moving in the right direction.
