Who here wants us to beat Leicester?

Liverpool's wage bill without Champions League football mean they'll be in big trouble. There'll be no mass strengthening of their squad. I really couldn't care less if we lost to Leicester. We are finishing second either way, win, lose or draw. But keeping Liverpool down for next season is what's important. We can't have another team challenging for the title.

I will not be remotely upset if we field every second string player available and lose to Leicester. And then obviously play a full strength side against Liverpool and go for the win.

It's the only remotely sensible course of action. Leicester, even if they win, aren't going to catch us for second. Stopping Liverpool getting in the top four is good for us in the long run even without personal sentiment.

Playing a strong side on Tuesday is setting ourselves up for a pasting on Thursday. Would be sheer idiocy going with that approach.

De Gea, Williams, Bailly, Tuanzebe, Telles, Mata, Matic, VdB, Amad... all of these players have to be starting on Tuesday if Ole has even a shred of common sense. It's not even like fielding kids, it's still a team that's capable of at least putting up a good fight with Leicester. If we win with that team, great. If we lose, no biggie.

Precisely. Weird that anyone would need this spelled out for them.

I want us to win, but I wouldn’t play a single player who Ole wants to start against Liverpool. That game is far more important because it helps out Spurs, West Ham and Leicester if we win.

Leicester game is a free hit, we have to play our second team. If we win, then great. Which means our back up players are good to beat other good team.

If we lose then it will help them to finish in top 4.

Happy to see us rest the first XI. Not bothered about the result. Think Liverpool will make CL anyway. Leicester will find a way of messing it up.

Most Man United supporters should want to win every game no matter the situation. United need 4 points to secure 2nd and I want those points got as soon as possible however the likelihood of United getting a result Tuesday with a 2nd string side is slim

I want us to win every game. United success before Liverpool failure, always.
United will finish 2nd barring a miracle so this game won't make a difference to the success of our season. It could however make a huge difference to Liverpool's season and I'd be lying if I said I'd give a feck if we lost to Leicester.

Feck Leicester and their bottling manager. If he bottles top 4 again this season then seriously I don't want his name ever mentioned to manage us.

I'm a bit confused here, if we win the EL and considering the CL will be won by an English side, doesn't that open up 2 spots for 5th and 6th to qualify for the CL or did something change that I am not aware of?

It's feasible we could end the season between 7 to 4 points off the top. Much better indicator of where we're at than 10 or 12, and I'd rather the history books reflected that. First points we drop will hand City the title, I suppose in that respect it's better that happens v Leicester than Liverpool, but feck it. Beating Leicester with a 2nd string, including a few players many really want to see get chances and do well would be sweet.

Nobody remembers who finished 2nd.

i can see Henderson starting, Lindelof & Mctominay didn't play in Rome so i think they might be selected, Greenwood was taken off early today so he might start, i hope Maguire, Fernandes, Pogba, AWB, Shaw, Fred & Rashford are rested and kept fresh for the Liverpool game.

Wouldn't be heartbroken with a defeat and I remember a certain Liverpool vs Chelsea game a decade or so back with a very dodgy backpass that helped Chelsea on their way to the title.

I want us to win. Liverpool being in Europa might help them anyway, not sure Klopp would take it seriously to be honest.

To tell you the truth, I would love it....just love it if pool missed out on top 4. I saw the following posted in the RAWK meltdown thread....

"Due to their increasing irrelevance I think I was beginning to forget just how repulsive their support is. Thanks for reminding me."

Come on people, how can you care or not if pool miss top 4? It would be beautiful beyond words. Obviously I hope we beat pool and Leicester and that Leicester win the other two games but hey....whatever it takes

My best case scenario :

Pre-match: The players and Ole put out the message that this game is vital and they’re going to give 100% etc

Lineups: Ole makes 9 changes, resting some key players. There is also a new addition to the scoreboard in the stadium, and the which has a running text bulletin feed from the RAWK thread for this game. The TV companies have also adopted this and text scrolls across the bottom of the screen.

During game: The second string do very well. They get to 70 minutes ahead 1-0 and are looking like winning.

75 minutes: Ole brings on Bruno and a couple of other RAWK favourites.

85 minutes: still nothing happens. Our players are sticking to their pre-match promises

88 minutes: dodgy VAR decision for us giving us a penalty. Bruno, laughing, decides to let Dan James have a go. The penalty goes into row Z.

90 minutes: Fred scythes down Vardy in the box. It actually looks deliberate. Leicester scores. 1:1

95 minutes: a lovely marathon passing interchange between James, Matic and some others finds Bruno at the edge of the box. Problem is, it’s our box, and we’ve successfully worked the ball backwards. Bruno smashes a worldy past his own keeper, turns to face camera and smiles. The players, laughing join him and envoke a celebration.

98 minutes: Uniteds players have wasted the last few minutes, not looking in remotely like they want to equalise. Final whistle goes.

Post match: in the tunnel interview, Ole is questioned about the final few minutes. He talks about how Leicester are a good side and how it will be great to see them in the CL, and how we’re also looking forward to being there. The camera pans in to Ole grinning...’It will also be great to see Liverpool in the Europa Conference’ end credits.

Edit: The pundits are also all pictured laughing as the credits roll up.

I'd like a win but I'll take a draw. Then beat the Scousers and have 2nd sewn up and focus all our energies on the 26th.

I do but I won't be arsed if we didn't. I didn't care about dropping points to Leeds few weeks ago either.

I'm only looking forward to Europe League final now.

Nothing has changed, there was no rule for 5th or 6th placed team qualifying for Champions league ever.

The people who'd moan we finished 12pts behind would, but then again they'd probably moan even more if we lost out by a point in the end. It's Manchester United, we should never think about throwing/losing games for sh*ts and giggles.

I remember that as well... but look what happened a few years later to the player that was repeatedly playing those backpasses...

He slipped on an invisible banana

No you're understanding it wrong. If the winner of EL and CL are already top 4, no additional spots are given. The additional spots are only given to those who win EL and CL and weren't top 4 in their league.

To be fair, even if Leicester do beat us I can’t see them getting max points in their other games so can see Liverpool getting top four anyhow. Let’s beat both of them

I mean, as long as we can still win the title I want to win.

I fully expect Agent Agüero to keep up the sabotage
