On Pogba:
Still makes no sense how someone so big for a footballer to be this technical
Others i can think of are Gullit, Cruyff, who else??
Not many for recent players (CRonaldo, Grealish?). They all sacrifice their height points on skills/techniques.

is grealish considered for tall? or does big calves add extra cm's to height?

There is literally hundreds of these types of footballers.

It’s a lazy sentence that shit pundits and Neanderthals roll out ‘oooohhh, he’s got a great touch for a big man’

Its not about Technical ability, its how quick his feet is. There are players like Zlatan, Berbatov who are very good technical players but Pogba is so good when it comes to dribbling and quick change of direction.

Is it considered to be rare? I don't get it.

I think this conclusion was made because every short player is technical and not every tall player is technical, because he often relies on physical attributes. This doesn't mean that tall, technical players are rare.

The taller you are, the bigger your feet are, generally. Big feet are a disadvantage in footby.

For a 1m 90cm plus player, it absolutely is rare to have that level of technical ability.

Problem is, many are taking Kouroux words as meaning it’s rare in “tall players”, when it’s not, and I don’t believe that’s what Kouroux was getting at.

Ruud Gullit is the ultimate example for this thread

Is 1.78m (5ft 10) regarded as tall? Then most players in the game are ”tall”.

Ryan Giggs is 1.79m for example, Cantona 1.88m.

The discussion should be 1.90+, Gullit’s a great example.
You both are right. Grealish look big (to me), but not really tall (relatively as footballer). So he's not a good example.

I just corrected the thread title. Only for technically great. Of course all players have a bit of technique.

It is tougher for taller players to be more ‘nimble’ - though clearly from the examples on this thread - not impossible. Tennis players have shown recently that height doesn’t necessarily need to affect technique or agility but of course there are diminishing returns if we are going over 6 ft 3-5. That is why there isn’t much examples compared to say finding technically gifted professionals who are say 5ft 10 in height. It does make a difference.

There is having decent tekkers for a big guy and there is having sublime technique like Pogba. It's not so much the rarity of it but how truly amazing he can be on the ball.
