As long as he’s fit for Gdańsk. The rest don’t matter.

really hope Harry can make a quick recovery , has been quietly going about his business very well and will be a huge loss. For him to have played almost every game this season and then miss the big one would be rotten luck !

Will be a big miss if he’s out for the season. However last time he was injured we managed to win against PSG away so let’s not lose all hope.

As soon as we lose him we all realise how important he is to our defence, is he worth 80 mill? No. Is he the best defender we’ve had since Vidic and Ferdinand left? Absolutely yes.

Without a doubt. Lindelof-Bailly pairing is asking for trouble. We still need an upgrade on Maguire's partner this summer. I'd be very happy with Lindelof as third choice. Think the trop off to Bailly is steep though.

Come on, that's now a very high bar, just shows our disastrous recruitment post SAF. Maguire is solid most of the time, his fitness is his greatest asset. I think he's marginally better than POTY Smalling.

He's as good a defender as Smalling and far far better on the ball. We haven't had many great CBs since Fergie left, but Maguire is very very good. He's not the type to elevate a defence around him into a title winning defence - he's not world class - but if you coupled him next to another top tier (not world class) defender we'd be absolutely sorted.

If that margin is the size of the Grand Canyon then I'd agree. He's miles ahead of anyone post Vidic/Rio in my book.

By far our best centre-back and one of the best in the Premier League.

His presence, communication and reliability gives us that feeling of security at the back.

He will a huge miss..

He's a lot better than Smalling's peak.
There's very few Mgauire haters now, whereas after the first month this season the place was awash.

Yeah, he's miles ahead of Lindelof, Bailly, Rojo, and Tuanzebe. But he's not a top 10, 15, or even 20 defender. He's not better than Thiago Silva or an in form Rudiger.

1 - He's nowhere near to a peak Thiago Silva (few are) but he's every bit as good as the current version and he would be absolutely rock solid under Tuchel, where their defence gets a lot of protection from the system.
2 - Nonsense, he's 10x the player Rudiger has ever been, absolute madness to say otherwise.

He’s an amazing competitor and the best CB we’ve had in ages. Hope he can get back soon.

Has he made any big errors recently? I'm trying to understand the animosity in this thread. As far as I can remember, he's had one maybe two occasions this season where a quick attacker beat him 1v1 but otherwise has been extremely solid in everything he did.

I'd guess that a lot of his detractors were vocal about Bruno being captain after his first few weeks at the club. A lot of them allowed their Bruno fanboyism to back them into a corner and couldn't bring themselves to admit that he's a very good defender and a good captain.

No william prunier.

Seriously if Maguire wasnt English he'd be much higher rated with fans.

Our english players have always had a raw deal over the years.

No news on the injury yet I'm guessing? Took a look but wasn't sure if I missed anything.

Hate these kinds of injuries. Feels like they could literally say oh he's fine it'll just be two days or equally possible for it to be a season ender.

Early in the season after the greece shit and when the rest of the team were fcked and tired.

Hes been great imo for the most part. Hes been caught out here or there but nothing major in terms of 'wow hes shit'. In fact the worst thing about him is that he manages to get his head on the ball on corners offensively but misses the target a lot.

Yeah that does annoy me a bit. Should've had 4-5 goals atleast, I think a few were free headers as well.

As a result of a multinational fan base. It’s a strange thing to criticise players from the country of the club - but our fan add sure love to do it.

I honestly don’t know why.

As much criticism he receives, including from me, I'm nervous about the fact of not having him for the remaining games. I just don't trust the Bailly-Lindelof partnership. Both struggle with the aerial game.

Fingers crossed it's minor. With Maguire you wouldn't be surprised if he plays 180 minutes v Leicester and Liverpool before the week is out.

It's because they believe that by looking closer to home, United are somehow ignoring a world of outside possibilities. Possibilities that helped them to win the quadruple in Football Manager or whatever.
