Rashfords hopeless on the right...

I thought that yesterday as well. He hardly touched the ball or did anything of note. Now even if he can't play at his best on the right, he could still show so much more. But then I wonder why Pogba can't play on the right either
Pogba isn’t as effective on the right but Rashford looks like he’s work experience. The drop in his basic competence as a footballer is shocking

I remember Wayne Rooney accepting in an interview recently that “he didn’t mind playing on the left, but he hated playing wide right. It always felt like the pitch was closing in on me”.Unless your a left footed attacking player or a specialist RW,it’s very hard to play on the right...I don’t know why Ole keeps picking Marcus ahead of Mason...If you want to play Pogba on the left and Cavani through the middle, then leave Rashford out of the team,as simple as that...

If your technique is good enough, you can play on there. Look at Mbappe, Neymar or even Sancho. There are all better on the left compared to right , difference is, the drop off isn't as much.
I think this is the next evolution in Rashfords career of becoming a top player. He needs to add more tools to his box otherwise he'll just be an almost player

Rashford ia hopeless right now, his position doesn't matter much when he's been playing like this for a while.

I wish Ole had the balls to drop him when there’s someone else currently better than him

Who's the better RW, Rashford or Obertan?

Robertson was matching him for speed during our counterattack. That should be enough for you to know Rashford isn't fully fit.

just a thought: we have failed to score more than once before half time in the last 23 games

I honestly think he's done for the season and has been for a while. Get him off and then back on left for europa final. Its like playing a man down

The problem is Rashford just doesn't know what to do when he gets it down the right, everything is so awkward for him so that's why he's not at fully throttle running down the wing

We are seeing what he’s really like.
This is a typical performance from Rashford.
The good performances are the exception, not his average display.
No excuses for being played on the right. He’s making the same sort of errors on both sides.

He's really bad in his general play, and it's not just limited to the right wing because I've seen him pop up in different areas constantly over dribbling. Yes he scores some good goals and makes some assists but he's also getting a lot wrong.

It's the result of an imbalanced squad. Trying to get Pogba on the pitch in a safe area. We all know Rashford is poor on the right. Yes he has issues on the left too but at least he's better there.

Things are simpler for him on the left, which is good because he's not the best at quick-thinking on the ball. You see that with his poor decision making most of the time.

On the left he can often just simplify it to 'cut inside and look for a shot'

Greenwood is a far cleverer footballer imo.

His output has been brilliant this season yet we stick him out where he’s ineffective? Not really sure what that’s about.

He's not hobbled enough to where he can't sprint when needed, hes had a few moments where he's been quite fast in today's game. So I'm not sure if he's actually hobbled, or just not putting as much effort in unless he wants to.

Game like tonight shows that we just need that one extra top player for the final third to allow our attackers to more regularly play in positions of strength. Can’t expect Greenwood to play every match on the right. Can’t expect Cavani to play every match at centre forward.

Except that he is actually very good off the left. So annoying seeing him on the right again when it really hasn't worked up to now.

Great goal, but that’s typical Rashford.
Worst than hopeless, then pops up for a cracking finish, then back to being a liability for the rest of the game.
Papering over the cracks.
The stats don’t matter when he’s causing more damage than his contributions.

It's gonna take a big call from Ole when it comes to the final. Does he have the balls to drop one of Pogba or Rashford and play Greenwood from the right?

I partly agree. He is definately far better on the left, but I also think he is one of the most over rated players I remember by many. SUper talented and he can be world class, but forget the stats peopel throw out. Week in week out, top top performances from him are the exception, is just nowhere near consistent enough to be considered as highly as he is.

Many talk about Pogba or Rashford on the left and signing a right winger......we havent seen him there yet, but a certain someone is as two footed as you can get. Why has nobody considered the thought of selling Pogba for example and buying a right winger like Sancho. Then the youngsters like Amad/Pellestri can be his udnerstudy and GREENWOOD can move over to the left to compete with Rashford. You can pretty much also sell James then and that along with selling Lingard buys you a centre back, two problem positions sorted for no net spend pretty much.

I do think Rashford doesnt look fully fit and I do think when he is on it he is a really good player but for me, just when I start to think I am wrong and harsh.....he is shite for a few weeks again. He is definately only for the left and the worst thing is playing him in other positions to fit him into the side as he simply isnt good enough on the right nor is he a striker

He’s just not as good as everyone thinks he is. That was a typical Rashford performance. He’s always like that. He even got his goal to paper over the cracks.

Decision making. That's what defines you as a player. You may have all the talent in the world like rashford has but he needs to improve his decision making. Why is he always running into blind alleys or a block of defenders? So infuriating! Also needs to keep it simple.

Just don't think he's fully fit, players often play through problems, technically fit enough and can always be dangerous but he's not 100% sharp as he was last season or earlier this season. When he plays too much he loses his zip. I have some similar problems and it does take the edge off and is quite debilitating.

Just think how he was before with a spring in his step, jinking past players and racing to the box Ronaldo esque, that's gone now. You know I think it's worth getting Sancho just so we can get Rashford back properly and stop overplaying him.

i”m really glad that most supporters have now begun to see the obvious(I was slated by many for starting this thread)...Rashford simply should not play on the right for Man United,as simple as that...

It took Ole over 60 mins to see that Rashford is not in the game and the balance was not as it should be.
Is that exceptable??

We Need two

LW- Rashford ,Martial , James
CF - Cavani , Another Proper Striker
RW- Lets say Sancho or Similiar , Greenwood, Amad .

Buy A CF and a RW and we look very dangerous . Problem Is we also need a top notch CB and DM and no way are we getting all four

If Rashford is so talented that he can play on the wrong side, Pogba should be able to do it as well.

Put Rashford on the left and Pogba on the left. It can't be any worse than what we've been seeing recently. If nothing else, it'll let Pogba make good use of his right foot to ping crossfield passes over to Shaw. And it might even let him put in some decent crosses for Cavani.
