I speak sense. Haaland is an unbelievable footballer and would take us to the next level. Rashford on the other hand is a overhyped mediocre player he will never be the striker you want him to be. Haaland has scored 100 goals in 146 games. He is the type of player we need and I would swap him for Rashford in a heart beat.
Ofcourse he wouldn't because Rashford isn't a striker. Name one player who has scored consistently 20 goals + assists for 3 seasons under the age of 23.

Sources linking the club with Botman, Kounde and Varane in the past 7 days. Two of them have to be waffle.
Dunno, remember when we were talking to Real and Morata, only to sign Lukaku instead? I wouldn't be surprised if the club is talking (through intermediaries) to 2-3 CBs, gauging players interest, willingness of club to negotiate etc..

Edit - Real, not Atleti'!

I suppose if he can clear out all the old players and start again with youth and add his own experienced choices, he could do ok. It’ll take a good few years though and I doubt if they’ll have the patience. If crowds return then it’ll only take them to start getting on his back for him to leave or get sacked

Botman would be a good signing. I like him.
He could be or he could be much like Lindelof and have weaknesses that are apparent and exposed frequently. Is very difficult to judge players who are in lesser leagues. His positioning isn’t great, but physically he’s a unit and I do like he’s a lefty. Having a very good season so far.

I wouldn't say so. Botman's way quicker than Maguire is, and that extra quickness sees him defend way more aggressively. He pushes up way higher to engage with attacking players and try to win the ball quickly. That often leaves him out of position, but he does have enough pace to recover if needed. Still, he gets sucked in way too easily quite often and tends to be easily bypassed, and that's where José Fonte comes into play (I'd say that Fonte carries the Lille back line). Aerially, Botman's not bad, but more often than not, he lacks awareness of what's around him and can go out of position. Overall, he mainly relies on his speed, quickness, and tackling in order to win the ball quickly.

On the ball, he's really good. His passing and dribbling is at a relatively high level, and alongside Koundé, he's one of the most promising ball-playing centre backs to come up.
Thanks, I didn’t get the impression he was quick from the bits I've seen, interesting. With links to him and Pau Torres it seems distribution is a big factor in what Ole is looking for, both are heavily left sided as well which is a bit odd as Maguire likes to play from the left.

Think a while ago there was much talk about Ole wanting to move Maguire to the right , so it would be easier to play out from the back.

Solskjaer wants his Defenders to be good on ball but unfortunately he seems to have ignored midfield so far , hopefully that changes this summer and we prioritise atleast couple of midfielders of good quality even if that means selling Pogba then so be it .

The thing is Lindelof played LCB for Benfica and when he partnered Smalling here, so if Maguire wanted to operate as the RCB I think he already would be, didn't he play LCB for Hull and Leicester as well?

100% agree, even without additions our current CB's are both better on the ball than our main 2 midfielders, i get wanting an engine room that's high energy but not at the expense of quality on the ball, you can have both.

wonder how many times european sports outlets will spout this «club interested», «player wants to go» links with no new info before we get him or not.

We really are a click gold mine

In this case, Sport1's Patrick Berger has decent links to Dortmund, so if he says this, then there's indeed something to the story.

Sport Witness themselves play down the United-Arambarri links.

If we have yet to make contacts with the player's reps, then there really is nothing to this story at this time.

Castles links us to a Lille player every transfer window and it always comes to nothing.
Lets hope so, Botman is a decent centre back and little more. Personally dont even think he improves us, let alone taking us up a level

Left back one sounds a bit strange considering James Justin has had such a good season until he got injured and then of course Luke Thomas has been superb as well since coming in for such a young player

After Christian Fuchs, Luke Thomas is their only proper left-footed player. James Justin is out of position there as well as both Castagne and Ricardo Pereira. Luke Thomas is still defensively weak, whilst Justin doesn't offer much going forward from the left. Sure, they can continue playing right-sided players on the left, but then they'll lack width, particularly with their back 3 setup.

Garner:
I’ve been working hard, physically and mentally, and it’s something I’m trying to add into my game,” he explained. “Hopefully, when I come back at the end of the season, I’ll sit down with the coaches and see what’s best for me and what’s going to be best for my development. I’ll take it from there really.

[On whether he wants to make it at United] I think that’s ultimately the dream. I’ve been at the club since seven or eight and the main focus is to be in the first team and do whatever takes to be with the first team. Like I’ve said, I’ll just keep working hard, keep my head down and have to see what is going to be best for my development. But, ultimately, my dream is to be with the first team and play for United.

Would love Fofana. They would take us to the cleaners again but I honestly believe he will develop into one of the best defenders in the league.

He is still young and learning, has the odd mistake that you would expect but the tools are there for him to be top drawer.

Why on earth weren’t we or others willing to take a chance on him?

With 4 CBs already and the belief in Axel, I get why we didn’t. We have also been monitoring Badiashile who has just started impressing for Monaco.

Plus there was all that farce with Sancho. Ffs!
