Can only see him joining City and is so frustrating we have more pressing issues when he could be availableI'm very confident we'll sign him.

I would say no if it means we don't strengthen the areas in more need. This is what we have been doing the last 10 years. Looking to make the marquee signing who is the last piece of the jigsaw and not fix the foundations. You'll seriously say no to a player in his prime years who has been one of the best strikers in England and world football over the past half decade? That is just madness, in my opinion.
Does the CB & CDM's have to be elite level or would you take prospect signings with KaneI would say no if it means we don't strengthen the areas in more need. Look if we can get a CB, CDM and Kane, great go at it. But mark my words, if the only business we do over the summer is Kane coming in then we won't finish any better than this year.
Fair play if you genuinely believe we could still get Sancho too100 million plus Lingard. Get it done Ed(win)
It looks like Levy promised him he could leave last year.I personally doubt he will leave. Levy will demand a massive fee, and Kane still has 3 more yrs on his contract and is not the sort that throws toys out of the pram.
You can never trust Levy.It looks like Levy promised him he could leave last year.
Maybe, but not at any price. They didn't agree on a release fee and Levy will always say the offers received are too low and unacceptable. Spurs have a huge stadium debt and they will demand top dollar for their most prized asset, since they will also need to replace him and rebuild the squad. It looks like Levy promised him he could leave last year.
You're right, it would push them even further out of our orbit but I don't think we should be occupying ourselves with City's plans right now.In isolation whether we sign Kane or not doesn't particularly bother me, even though I think CF is an issue for us. It's not like we don't have other issues, after all.
However, the thought of City signing Kane does worry me. They are currently better than us and the goal is to overtake them next season. That becomes a hell of a lot harder if they fix the glaring fault in their side by bringing in the league's top CF.
We can close some of the gap by strengthening other positions, like CB or CM. But I struggle to see those improvements having a greater impact than Kane arriving as CF in City's team would.

a part ex involving Martial would suit all parties. We would if we knew martial was off...
Striker isn't really an area of strength. The gulf between Cavani and the rest is massive, and Cavani is unlikely to play a huge proportion of games next season. Plus he's gone in 12 months and then there is very likely no one available to replace him, unless Kane and Haaland stay available for another season, and even then we're back to that old chestnut of being desperate and exploitable. If Kane or Haaland are free this summer, we should be going all out to get one, specially whilst we have two players in VDB and Martial who are nice incentives for a swap.I would say no if it means we don't strengthen the areas in more need. I think they need to be proven. My thought process is you try and strengthen your weakest areas with high quality and sign prospects for the areas you are already strong. If you look through our squad, it could be argued that after LB and GK, forwards are our next strongest area if you consider who we can field. Our problem is we can't control games and play well on the front foot. Why?Does the CB & CDM's have to be elite level or would you take prospect signings with Kane
Nah. We could have R9 and we wouldn’t win the league with that midfield and centre back pairing. He’s also got injury issues. If he arrives, we win the league. He is that good. Simple as that.
Name checks out. He'll probably end up at Chelsea, and Haaland at City.
Kane transfer fee £65mCity will continue to dominate the league for years to come. He will go there and win a few trophies.
It’s not like money is an issue (plenty of oil still), but Aguero’s wages will cover Kane’s and they’ll probably get him for the now customary £60m - £65m
He'll flop at city. Not his style of play and he won't be the top dog either.Kane to City is almost game over for us unfortunately, but still, we can't pay that much, that's all.
as was Sanchez, Maguire and Fred… doesn’t really matter how they turned out. Just because city want a player doesn’t automatically mean he’s going there.Wasn't van Persie nailed on for City until Fergie had a word?
Believe#21 and #4 would be on the way if we pulled that off but unfortunately real life isn't manager mode
Unless we have some sort of massive clearance which I highly doubt
Yeah I am sure he will but think the likelihood is we have moved on now Edi is staying for another year which is the right thing despite being a big fan of Kane but there is no doubt we need a CB, CDM & RW above that much as he is a sure fire thingas was Sanchez, Maguire and Fred… doesn’t really matter how they turned out. Just because city want a player doesn’t automatically mean he’s going there.
If he goes, and that’s a big if, I think it’s 50/50 between us and city.
expect fergie to get involved in this one!
