Good for Rojo. He was a good player back then.
Scored a banging first time volley in the last minute against Nigeria too, and literally carried Messi on his back. Not many can say that.

The arrival of Meriton Holdings in Valencia – with new majority shareholder Peter Lim – in 2014 brought Portuguese manager Nuno Espírito Santo in. That summer, following the departure of certain players, Parejo was named captain ahead of the new season. He also inherited Banega’s number 10 shirt and interest from Atlético Madrid was swept aside.
More importantly I know from watching them. Many people have been acting captain when Parejo hasnt played, but hes been the captain until he left for Villarreal last summer

In 2014 enzo Pérez was busy being the best player in Portugal, nice try, again
Have you got any idea how long Parejo has been there?

Neville removed him as captain in the Neville disaster season, other people were captain while he was dropped. He was captain again after and resumed being Valencia's best player

Anyway on topic, I haven't watched much of Buendia in the Championship this season but I saw a lot of him when Norwich in the PL.

I know AM isn't a priority for us but I'd happily have him here, he's a very classy player. Great first touch, can beat a man, plays a nice pass and can score.

Would be a good squad rotation option with Bruno who got no rest this year and we could even play both against the sides that sit back. For around £30m it'd be a good deal. We do need to build our squad depth to challenge City in the league, unfortunately won't happen as unlike them we have a limited budget and will probably prioritise other positions first.

Argentine press reporting we (Villa) agreed 30m fee with Norwich and he's passed a medical already.

He's a good player for sure but not convinced he's right fit for us on the right as we need more quick player for that position.

If he's coming in as a Barkley replacement, fair enough.

I very much doubt it.

With Barkley being returned to Chelsea reserves and Trezeguet out injured for most of next season we actually don't have that many options for the three positions behind Watkins.

Jack, El Ghazi and Traore, that's it compared to Spurs who have about 7-8 options and even West Ham have likes of Bowen, Yarmolenko, Fornals, Lingard if signed permanently and Antonio will probably go back there if they get in another CF so we're understocked compared to many teams who finished 4-5 points ahead of us.

I think he's your insurance if JG goes in the summer. Obviously they could play together but I'd wager that's the idea.

Good player anyway. Grealish replacement or not you should be happy.

Yeah I think he's going to be your no.10. I do think you'd still lack a natural goalscorer in the side though unless you can get Abraham in as well. Certainly would be a very creative side with Luiz, Grealish and Buendia though. Maybe El Ghazi would actually be a good balance to the side on the right wing even if he is a bit shit - he's not a 20 goals a season sort of player but no reason why he couldn't get 15 with those players around him.

Or maybe of course Grealish is just signing for United and Buendia is his replacement? :D

It’ll be interesting to watch how he performs with a better side, and also one where he won’t be the main man.

If they can settle him in properly he’ll be a great acquisition. Has the technical quality to keep up with the others and he’s also a wonderful facilitator. I think unlike his first top flight season he’s going to be a little more productive in terms of goals.

Arsenal beaten to a player by Villa. Kroenke making himself more popular by the minute

Think Arsenal have a better player lined up or they may just stick with Odegaard for another campaign if Madrid are up for another year loan.

Can they really afford a better player and what top player wants to join them? Loaning Odegaard seems to be their best bet.

Arsenal are still capable of attracting very good talent, if they pay up ofcourse.

Now don't get me wrong, Buendia is a solid player but I don't think he's good enough to take this Arsenal side up another level.

They've been 8th for 2 seasons. Buendia for sure takes them up a level. They need a manager first though.

Good signing for AV. If they keep Grealish they will have some sexy creativity up front.

Great signing for Villa. If they can keep Grealish they will have a great from 3. If Grealish leaves he'll add the creativity they need to keep them safe of a relegation fight.

Helps Grealish a lot too — assuming he stays and this isn’t a stylistic replacement.

Really worried if GreLish moves to one of our rivals.

Hopefully they're confident about signing somebody else because this one seemed locked... It's apparently 30M + bonuses + a new sell-on clause which would amount to 40M+.
Another loan for Odegaard, Aouar or somebody else that we haven't heard about yet.

Keeping Grealish and signing Buendia for £30 million would be insanely positive ambition from Villa

Must be a happy guy tonight, can't lie, I'm disappointed we didn't go in hard for him, I think he's a great wee player, I've been wanting Arsenal to go for him the last 18 months.

Thought he could do better than 30 mill to Villa. Even when Norwich were relegated nobody went for him. There must be something wrong with him because it makes no sense for the big clubs (no offence to Villa) not to try and get him.

He'll be one that after a season or so the CAF will be like, why did we not sign him? Rate him very highly, think £30m is a bargain and wish we were in for him.

Villa if they play Buendia as an AM with Mcginn and Luiz behind and Grealish, Watkins and a RE in front will be a very strong team. Could well make a top 6 push next season. Tbf they were up there before Grealish got injured.

Arsenal fans will be pissed. Linked to them and he goes to Villa who tbf have a better performing squad.
They have a much better manager that gets the best out of players. Top talent at Arsenal is made mediocre by Arteta's coaching so for the time being that is a place to avoid.

Apart from being in London or growing up as Arsenal fans, there’s no real pull to Arsenal anymore. Sure the stadium is nice but Spurs has better facilities. Chelsea will get you a medal or two. Arsenal.. is the death of your career.. Auba will tell you.
