Who do we reckon then?

I'm feeling an unexpected one tbh like Baros in 2004 but have no idea why.

Wout Weghorst. He will surprise everyone. And he's extra hard to mark, because he hasnt been vaccinated.

Tournament Golden Boot awards are usually dumb. Ooh here's a player that scored 6 goals in the tournament, 60% of them were penalties, what an achievement.

Werner, I think he could really catch fire. Is he guaranteed to start for Germany though?

Bruno Fernandes, IF Cristiano gives him penalties spot kick.

Kane. He has incredible knack of scoring even if he doesn't play well. See, World Cup.

1. Harry Kane
2. Bruno
3. Mbappe
4. Ronaldo
5. Lukaku

This time last year had it not been postponed I would have given Gnabry a chance too

Lewandowski would be amazing, so would Karim. Lukaku is a good shout because the group stage games are not as hard as France’s.

You'd think it would be one of the 3 French forwards, but they have a tough group so maybe not.

Kane probably has as good a chance as any, too. He will likely rack up a few in the group stage alone.

He is fighting with Sane, Müller, Gnabry and Havertz for 3 spots.
He is fighting Sane and Havertz for one spot.

Müller's comeback means that Löw relies on Müller's organisation skills on the pitch - especially with the pressing etc. And Gnabry usually contributes for the national team - when not he then nobody.

I actually would put Gnabry into above lists - he had 6 goals in a tournament before even if it was just the olympics. Whereas Werner is not really known to score in knockout matches, he was not even profilic in the German Cup...

I would imagine Gnabry and Sane will definitely start as the wingers? That leaves Muller, Havertz and Werner for the central position? Does being the most natural center forward out of them all give Werner an edge? I have 200e on Germany at 15/2, so that's why I'm interested!

Müller is the organisator of the offense and the pressing - and they got him back for that job. In the moment Löw decided to get him back (and their was various phone calls before) that was pretty clear. He did not get a starting guarantee - but it as much one as you can get it.

Each of the mentioned players is pretty variable with the way he can play. Sane probably is the only "real" winger of them.

Probably whoever goes furthest in the comp out of France, England, Belgium and Portugal really.

One of Mbappe, Kane, Lukaku or Ronaldo surely.

Lukaku off to a strong start with his two goals. If Belgium don't do a Germany he is a top contender for the golden boot.
