Anyone listening to the new Wolf Alice album released today? First listen very good - and it seems to have universally good reviews.
I mentioned it in the 2021 Music thread, which seems to have died... but yes, it's an absolute cracker. I've been a fan since their debut album but this is their best work. And it's on 97 on metacritic! Insane reviews so far.

fab. I’ve not listened to them a great deal. I saw them support Liam Gallagher at Finsbury Park about 3 years ago - which was one of the worst gigs Ive ever been to in my life, it was so quiet you could have a conversation with your mate as if you were in a library - and the organisation was utterly appalling. Queens of the Stone Age the next night was just as bad…

Anyway, when Wolf Alice played, they were just screeching down the mic - it wasn’t good, and it somewhat put me off. Although I was also disappointed the first time I saw Paul Weller, Stereophonics and Manic Street Preaches (seen over 20 times now)…

So back to the record, a great first impression, and it’s really prompted me to look into their previous records - I know this one is a bit more melodic.

Fair enough. Sounds like an issue with venue more than anything else. I saw Wolf Alice at Glasto 15/16? They were class.
Here they are live on KEXP (US station) playing some bangers.

First album is definitely more standard indie rock fare. But arguably still my favourite of theirs.

I bought a pair of Sennheiser Momentum 3s recently so I've been listening to a ton of music recently, but mostly Opeth and Amorphis.

Truly masterful.

I’ve just got myself a ticket to see them at Pryzm in Kingston. The shows are only about an hour there, but for £13 - it’s cracking value.

It's alright, I'm from the country.
Not to sure about the first one, the second was good though..
That's probably the most diplomatic response I have ever received after suggesting Blink to someone.

Do check out that Whipping Boy album if you get a chance (Heartworm). One of the best albums from the 90s in my humple opinion.
Just found out it is getting a first vinyl reissue in 25 years in a few weeks. Originals have been going for silly money.

First heard this a few years ago, and today I just went on a Magic Sword binge, they're so good.
