I know nothing about your team, but last tournament I thought the team was absolutely shockingly bad and I felt sorry for Lewandowski, though I also expected him to somehow carry that terrible team slightly more.

Have you improved?

Bookies have Poland @80s but with Lewandowski surely you can get out that group?

I don't follow our national team but 5-6 points seem like a very viable attainment.

Wow Piatek not even making the euros squad...some fall from grace in last 18 months.

Some interesting names in there...didn't even realise Moder at Brighton was Polish and never heard of the Norwich player.

Think this will be last tournament from the old guard e.g. Glik and Krychowiak.

He was going to be called up, without any doubt, but in mid-May he broke his ankle in game vs. Schalke, so there's no way he would recover.

But it doesn't change the fact that playing for Hertha Berlin is some kind of a fall from grace in last 18 months.

Couldn't really delve much into Poland's stats. I believe Lewandowski was out for a few of the qualifiers?

Where’s the guy that used to play for Dortmund? Or am I getting mixed up?:)
Lewandowski? He's called up.

But seriously, you probably mean Piszczek – he finished his international career a couple of years ago, and this season he ended his career in Dortmund. He's still going to play in Poland fourth tier in his hometown, though, but it's going Or you mean Kuba Błaszczykowski, who's at Wisła Kraków.

So Milik is officially out with injury and our new manager, Sousa, decided not to call up anyone from the reserve list. As in case with Bruno's decision to go second in penalty shootout - you can say one feels more comfortable, Sousa probably doesn't want to introduce new faces to the group, but you put yourself in a disadvantageous position to start with. Szymański had a great year in Russia and looks quite promising, why not call him up, he'll feck up all team chemistry because he was not there for the team bonding sessions with folk musicians and comedians? Meh, for those that don't follow - Poland changed the manager right before the tournament, kicking out Brzęczek that got us through qualifiers but playing some dire football and looking constantly out of his depth. Paulo Sousa, former Portuguese player many of you surely remember, is not really an established name and I am sort of sceptical about his life coach slash car dealer manner. I'm a well known football pessimist lately and I really wouldn't be surprised seeing us perform on WC2018 level but looking forward to being surprised - lately my Swedish friend was moaning their team is an abysmal state too, so maybe we can put few past them.

Shit game, shit result tonight against Iceland. Sousa showing stubbornness in playing 2-3 strikers even when two out of his three best forwards in Milik and Piątek are out. We might end up with a random Świerczok in a starting line up for Euros, nobody can tell what the defence will look like. More questions than answers for Poland and awful friendlies before the tournament - welcome to the usual lottery.

Sousa didn't have time to gel everything into unit. Could be bumpy, as always.

I’m happy with the starting line up and no Świerczok or other 3 striker bullshit, come on Poland, expecting a good game from Klich and Zieliński

What happened to Piatek. Wasn't he amazing for Milan 2 seasons back?

Both him and Milik are injured. Few months ago we had too many strikers in decent form and worried how to utilize them, now apart from Lewy we’re down to Swierczok and Świderski who are a level below.
