La gazetta dello sport have said that Ronaldo is going to PSG to replace Mbappe whos off to madris this summer (this ties in with him house hunting in madrid and ramos telling all the madrid squad not to accept paycuts just so madris can bring in Mbappe). Also icardi will be going to Juventus to replace Ronaldo.

Hmmm...lets see if this pans out.
Didn’t Icardi say he is staying at PSG? I agree with you that a Ronaldo/Icardi “swap“ is the most likely outcome should Ronaldo move.

I so want to believe that Ronaldo can make a comeback! but do you think it's possible?
By the way, I use google translate because I'm Belgian and I hardly speak English ...

I wouldn't purchase Ronaldo outright, but I'm all in favour of swapping him for Pogba, only.....

because I think the chances of Pogba renewing his contract is less than 1%, he seems set on wanting to leave United.

Apparently Utd are interested in Ronaldo, but any deal would be hugely expensive and Utd want to strengthen a number of areas first and want to land those targets first and have asked Ronaldos camp to wait and see later in the summer if a move would be possible. Ronaldos camp think a move to PSG even if Mbappe stays for one more season is more likely than a return to Old Trafford.

Juventus have to get Ronaldo off the books for FFP, his package is crippling Juventus finances and their ability to do any business in transfer market. Allegri is also happy to let Ronaldo go so he can free up funds to shape the squad. So juventus have been working with Ronaldos camp to help him find a new club. Ronaldo is happy to go as well.

I mean there are only one or two realistic destinations for him - us, PSG, or Madrid. Can't see him going to City or Chelsea.

Apparently Madrid have already said no. They want either Mbappe this summer or Mbappe and/or Haaland next summer.

Pogba ain't going to Juventus. It's too big of a downgrade at this point for his brand. And they can't afford him, even with Ronaldo off the books.

Why would we take him anyway? I mean he is 36, yes, he still has something to provide, but, but hell, no. SAF made him a player he's been now and all the time he spoke about his dream was to play for Madrid. OK, you have fulfilled it, now we should welcome you back because no one else (except PSG) wants/have enough resources to have you.
Our most important goals must be to keep Pogba, and buy DCM and a CB
Let PSG have him, especially if Mbappe is leaving

It’s a thanks but no thanks deal. If it was before Juve then maybe it could have made more sense. Surely his salary would be in the region of £500k which is mental. It would destabilise the wage structure entirely which is going to cause issues. Great player, loved him at United but it’s not worth it for us now.

Ronaldo takes very good care of himself and is likely an anomaly similar to Ryan Giggs who played until he was 40, so the age factor doesn't seem like much of a risk.

If he were to return and was our only signing it would be terrible but if we can get him in addition to Sancho, a DM and a CB we'd all be amazed. On a free his wages wouldn't be problematic at all. No one could argue he doesn't merit a high salary and no one in our squad has a CV close to his so they wouldn't have a leg to stand on asking for equivalent wages.
First of all, the Ryan Giggs at 40 player, was he honestly as good as the 20-25 year old R. Giggs player?

If he was to return - and I see a faint possibility that if all your main targets fall through, the board push ahead with this re-signing of a legend, to appease the fans, but I agree that would be terrible.

But I have come on here to type this point, because I just can't get my head around it: What is Ronaldo's net worth would you say? I bet because of not just his ability, but his longevity and his 'image', during a time when football finances have gone off the scale crazy: a billion £s maybe? Certainly a billion US dollars.

So why, in the name of bezeezus, doesn't he say: "I'd love to do a year or two at MUFC, because I owe them pretty much everything, I will do it for £100,000 a week to be paid not to me, but charities that the club already support e.g. Marcus Rashford's free kids meals one".

* He gets to finish where it pretty much started (I was on holiday in a little town in Scotland in summer 2003 actually and I think I saw him on Man Utd. debut on TV in a pub, a pre-season friendly and I thought, he seems 'quite good' but does lots of step-overs!).

* Utd's board & accountants would actually consider it - they aren't going to risk another Sanchez situation, in my opinion and pay anything like his current wages.

* It would make him look good: Selfless. Plus Utd. could have Ronaldo and other expensive additions to the team as well.

* Finally, he could easily do it! He has more money than he will ever need, even for life of luxury for himself and his children and their children too. I mean look at this comparison for a moment: because of the way he has looked after himself or maybe his genes or starting 3 years later than Wayne Rooney, he has already had 3-4 more years earning top-whack, than the English man and perhaps he should reflect on that and consider something revolutionary, like my idea.

Otherwise, just do a year in China on a million dollars a week and I for one will breathe under my breath: "you greedy winker....".

Messi has always been the better footballer out of the two. The has never been a tie so no tie breaker, if you ask most true neutrals with no link to Man utd, Real Madrid, Juventus or Portugal.

There is no doubting Ronaldo as a goalscorer, one of the very best in history but Messi is just as good a goalscorer and is far better at everything else.
Typical lazy opinion. You probably think Adel Taraabt is the better footballer than Carrick.

There is never enough Money. Ronaldo doesn't compare himself to us. He probably looks at Musk, Gates etc and thinks if I can have my own castle, island and so one.

There are many poor and starving families in Asia that look at the money your average joe makes in U.K and think how can they want more. Money is a weird thing.

Love the concept of paying him 100k a week to charity and him playing for free, then the English media get on his back when he has a bad game. They will accuse him of being not caring about the team because he's not being paid. Even though he scored 5 hattricks in a row in his last 5 games, and put us top of the league and 15 points clear.

I would love to see him return to united and still think he has a few years left in him. His drive, determination and desire to win and break records would be infectious throughout the team. Cavani, Bruno and Ronaldo all proven winners, maybe have a case for Pogba but the impact those 3 have already had on the club has been immense.

I hope it does happen along with Sancho, we can never have enough quality players and with the age he is at he won't stay at the club long term. We get him for 2 seasons and he can help develop the young players at the club, imagine Rashford, sancho and greenwood learning from Cavani and Ronaldo, it would be invaluable.

Ronaldo has said "whatever happens will be for the best" when questioned about whether he will return to Juve.

It's on :devil::devil::devil::devil:

Which is the sensible approach. No sane fan of any club would not take a player of his calibre. If they did, you would seriously have to question their sanity.

He still has it.

Broke 2 records today by the way:
- all time top scorer in Euro
- scored in 5 Euro tournaments

And he is only 3 goals behind all time international top scorer. May break it too in this Euro.

Best player of all time. What he does isn’t often as pretty as Messi with his jinking runs and low centre of gravity but he’s had a better career at all levels in multiple leagues. It’s not even close IMO because “best” player doesn’t mean “most talented” it means the person who’s had the biggest impact, won the most, broken records, scored the most etc.

Also he’s gonna go on to 40, isn’t he?
