Available shirt numbers for Sancho if he moves to Manchester United (Manchester Evening News):

12 - Hardly the most glamorous number for an attacker, the No.12 has usually been occupied by defensive-minded players at Old Trafford. Chris Smalling donned the shirt during his nine-year stay at the club and previous wearers include Ben Foster, Phil Neville and Paul Parker.

16 - Having been made iconic at United by club greats Roy Keane and Michael Carrick, the No.16 might be the most attractive option for Sancho. The skilful winger also wore the number himself on occasion while playing for Manchester City's Under-18s.

22 - The No.22 is available again for the first time in two seasons as goalkeeper Sergio Romero will leave the club upon the expiration of his contract and vacated it. The number may also be a good choice for Sancho, as he wore it on his England debut as an 18-year-old against Croatia in 2018.

24 - Timothy Fosu-Mensah's departure in January means the No.24 is now up for grabs again. It's most associated with Darren Fletcher at Old Trafford, but Wes Brown, David Beckham and Paul Scholes all had stints in the shirt.

25 - The No.25 is free after Odion Ighalo returned to China in January following his loan spell at the club. Another right-winger in Antonio Valencia is the club's most famous wearer of the jersey.

32 - Free since 2017, the last two players to have No.32 were goalkeepers but the number was synonymous with Carlos Tevez' time with the club. With number 33, 34, 38 and 39 all taken the only other numbers free below 40 are 35 and 36, so it's certainly slim pickings for any new arrivals this summer.

However, No.8 and No.13 could become available if Juan Mata and Lee Grant fail to agree new deals with the club and leave upon the expiration of their current contracts.
I think 30 is available.

also, any of 14, 15 & 20 might be available if Lingard, Pereira, or Dalot are sold.

Number 22 is my bet for Sancho, then he'd switch to number 7 after Cavani is gone

not buying this at all
United fees and wages are always embellished insanely :houllier: , absolutely zero chance that's true

It'd be daft to believe he'd earn that on top of a near 90m Euro fee. That'd amount to an 180m package and have him earning more than anyone not named De Gea which is highly highly unlikely.

Pretty sure he'll be on at least 100k less than that when it's official

No chance he's coming straight in on De Gea wages.
I think a lot of our wages are based off incentive. So he might be on a flat fee of like 200k but with end of year bonuses and split over the year it could work out as him possibly earning 350k a year. Just media like to shout about all the wages and fees at there maximum.

example Martial costing us 50 mil when it was more like 35 then bonuses. Sanchez 700k a week when it was like 300/350 then attainable bonuses.

We’ve bid £67 million over 5 years, Dortmund want £81 million over 4 years so this’ll be done by next week for £75 million and it doesn’t feel like last summer at all as we’re actually quite close in negotiations already with personal terms apparently already sorted.

That is probably the max salary he can reach if we win the quadruple and he has 40+ goals and assists.

Is it mad that I don't see £350k as...... all that much for such a high profile signing?

Yet others are thinking no chance it's true. It's probably not far off. He'd have a diabolical agent if it was.

£60mil is fine - feck them if they dont play ball. Next summer it'll be £40mil then the summer after its free I believe.
Sick of these germans coming over here eating our women, drinking our food, taking our best young talent and selling it back to us at ten times the price.
Jesus we let them win the euros and world cups dont we? And we let one of them poke the queens great grandmother - so its not like we are being unfair. Give em 1 inch they want 2, give em 2 they want 3, give a german a rope, he wants to be cowboy!!
 That was funny

Come on, its certainly wide off the mark. Imagine paying that to a 21 year old. If I'm not wrong, even Bruno is on about 150k.

Slightly. What I mean is if you start at 350k for him where are you going with it once he proves himself here? What about Bruno etc?

So you'll be okay with a 21 year old, new signing coming in and becoming our highest paid player?

I'm sure that won't cause any issues further down the line.

Does anybody get the Jigsaw feels when Dortmund set their deadlines?
Zorc: 'You have until July 23rd or else Dan James/Rashford continue on the right wing'
Camera pans from the floor to a wide shot of a bathroom in derelict building with Michael Zorc and Ed Woodward handcuffed to two separate water pipes. A tape player reading, "play me", is in the hands of Ed.......

"Rise and shine, Ed. I'd like to play a game. You're probably wondering where you are. I'll tell you where you might be. You might be in the room that you'll be negotiating in. Up until now, you simply stay in the shadows, monitoring the situation or preparing a bid.........

I'm a full on muppet, I should be very excited about this deal (I was last year) but i'm not. Probably just because its dragged on forever.

Seeing a lot of “bowing to Dortmund’s demands” floating about Twitter. Didn’t do that last summer and seem to have got 25/30 mill off?

".....You need to use your negotiation skills to save yourself. Let me explain the rules.. "
*Ed stops him right there and starts the negotiation with a proposal that involves Disneyland. Jigsaw shoots himself*

Coming back to the thread, I honestly hope the next news that breaks on this is about an agreement on the fee with Dortmund and not about how we've agreed personal terms (AGAIN).

Edit:the next news that comes up is from feckin Jonathan Sha**er who has to be a buzzkill in all this.
