The noises this summer are way different to last summer regarding this transfer. It does sound like it's as good as done this time and I'd be shocked if we didn't sign him.

His best season so far of 20 goals and 20 assists when he was 20 years old, matches a legend like Robben's best ever senior season of 21 goals 17 assists, when he was a Ballon D'or candidate
He's going to be a great player but I wouldn't compare him to a serious contender of the #1 right winger of all time. Robben was a different beast. Obviously not at Sancho's age, so there's quite some time left for Sancho to reach these heights.

If Robben didn't struggle with health...he'd most likely be mentioned in the same breath as Ronaldo and Messi.

Still can't get my head round why Chelsea sold him?

No chance. Robben was an excellent player but he was never going to be anywhere near the best footballers to have played the game. And Messi was a better RW than him anyway and by a significant margin, so I don't see how he's a contender for best ever RW.

The big price has nothing to do with Sancho.

The big price always happens because of United pretending they are the biggest club in the world due to the number of fans we had and money they were making at one point.
We don't have many fans or much money these days

I know Southgate is clueless but I keep reading Sancho's likely to start on the bench. Is he shit for England?

Or simply isn't that great to command a place?

A bit of both. Southgate being an idiot (just look how long it took Grealish to get a sniff) and Sancho not quite showing his club form for England, yet.

Cheers lads, just find it strange that a virtually 100m player is seen as a sub for England.

I have mostly only seen Jadon on youtube highlights but seems like the BDL watchers on the Caf rate Jadon very highly and he has probably another level or two to reach. Can’t wait till he plays in a United shirt

He forced his way out. One of the only players we've had to do that in the Roman era. Courtois did it much later too of course.

Do people really care if United announce him today, tomorrow or after the euros? Who cares if the euros are on, just sign him up and announce ASAP. Euros are just a logistical distraction as he needs to do a medical.

Other than that, id be just as excited now or after euros...maybe even more so now so we can cheer him on wearing an england shirt...

We made a deal with Southgate to show him that playing in PL is worth few extra points for selection, Sterling and Rashford both have had horendeus last few months, and one of them surely will make first 11, i cannot see Grealish and Foden on wings.

Isn't Sancho talked about as the best of the lot atm?
Well I would agree, not saying the other guys are better (bar Grealish), but when you factor in the competition for his position, his alright but not brilliant showings for England and Southgate being an idiot, you get the picture.

I think Sancho would be starting for England if he’s playing in the Premier League. He will be an England regular when he plays for United this new season

Arguably Robben was already at a supreme level by 21. He came to Chelsea at 20 and bossed the league.
Not sure he was ever going to be hitting Messi Ronaldo levels though.

Maybe. He's still competing with Foden though, who's had a great year to be fair, so can't knock on Southgate for that.

You'd need a silly high fee for any of Rashford, Sterling, Grealish and Sancho though. Only a couple can play, and Southgate favours the two he's seen most of, who play in England and are most "proven" at this level, if we can use that term.

Er... not really. He is a great dribbler and good player but that's about it. His scored 19 goals in 106 games over 3 season at Chelsea, and he scored 13 goals in 65 games over 2 season at Real. Thats quite a huge distance for him to be mentioned in the same breath as Ronaldo and Messi at any point of his career, regardless of injuries or not. His best years are at Bayern though, but still his overall average output in top 4 league isn't even near to 1/2 of Ronaldo and Messi in top 1 league, despite playing in similar position. At best you could say he'd most likely to be mentioned in same breath as Neymar or Bale, or somewhere in between.

Great we've been fleeced again. "Ich habe dich kommen sehen" says the Dortmund overlord.

City would've paid £20 million and got him.
Before bragging about how great City are - you are aware that they almost gave him away for free to Dortmund right ?

I definitely don't want Amad out on loan next season. We need him for our squad. He'll definitely get more game time for us next season especially if we do sell Martial. Signing Sancho won't mean no rotation. If anyone should be loaned it should be James (if not sold).

True and Foden is top quality. But Foden is only 2 months younger than Sancho and Sancho has had 3 full seasons and another half a season in top flight football.

This was Fodens first full season and he still didn't play that many minutes all things considered.
