Watched all the episodes in two days. It was pretty good. Genuine reaction from him about the 3 sheep. My only two complaints:

1. Shoehorning of that Bentley from their last Grand Tour special (which was garbage.)
2. Building the dam across that small stream with huge machines, genuinely reminded me of some of those unfunny top gear episodes.

I wish we'd get a series with James May's Pub. I truly enjoy all James may content. His Japan special was very good.

I’ve not seen it yet but I usually find that when he does a serious programme, he does a very good job of it. All of his documentaries are very well produced and informative.

I am in the Like camp for him too. I think he’s kind of a WUM playing up to the middle-to-upper class, right leaning English chap stereotype that people label him as, just for shits and giggles to see their reactions.

Agreed, that was brilliant.

Yeah, I’m actually warming to him a bit. I think it’s good he’s not with Hammond and May. Top gear had lost its way and gone too extreme and he ended up almost a caricature of himself.

Whatever, it’s a great show with some genuinely touching moments.
I disagree with some of his views, but I honestly don't think he is guilty of anything other than being outdated. And without the other two, it becomes less of a boys club and he doesn't need to try as hard. I'm actually enjoying him being out of his depth. And as others have said, his chemistry with Kaleb is great, at first I actually thought it was his son.

Finished it last night, such an enjoyable feel good show. Particularly enjoyed Calebs trip to London. Sums up exactly how I feel about the place. The way Clarkson has it setup is the absolute dream; gets to enjoy all the positive aspects of farm life yet has all the resource to not give a shit if it makes a financial loss. That's how I'd like to operate one day but with not quite so much land. I really hope there is another series, Clarkson said on Twitter it's up to Amazon. Bit of a no brainer really with how popular it's been.

Unless you want a big one to actually make money, that's a pretty achievable dream. I can probably hook you up with a small one, but you'd have to move to a Norwegian countryside. Cheaper than a (Norwegian) house.
Just a small one to have fun with. Has to be in England of course!

This will be really funny because Clarkson is a bigoted old man who doesn’t understand the modern world and doesn’t understand nature. I hope the hamster and captain slow visit him and they do some scripted sketches where things all go wrong and they play up to their characters. They will be on to a real winner if they do this.
I guess you missed last few years where they tried with about 20 new presenters/actors, and probably tens of millions invested, and couldn't replace 10% of the scripted boring stuff Clarkson and co did?

I just hate when clearly talented people are criticised for something they do very good. You can say Clarkson is an idiot, a cnut, and I would agree. But to criticise him for Top Gear acting is ridiculous, those three weren't producers of the show, they were the reason why it lasted so long.

You can't buy genuine friendship and three blokes messing about but you can have Paddy McGuinness and a wooden Freddie Flintoff bullying Chris Harris the only presenter with any knowledge of cars every week and kid yourself it is better than Clarkson and co

Caleb and the bloke who nobody can understand are interesting side characters too.
I was a bit disappointed when I realised the program fabricates this. One episode it was really clear his lips weren't matching the mumbles.

Brill show though, we've really enjoyed it.

The episodes on his wilding projects were very Top Gear esque.

To be fair to Clarkson he seems to know more about conservationism than most of the kale munchers who have it in for him.

I only really watched this because of a couple of recommendations here and really enjoyed it in the end.

Yes to an extent I would immagine however things like the pandemic and weather can't be scripted but other things like Clarkson sewing his fields like a twat probably were.
Yeah, I am not watching it because last few seasons of Top Gear were scripted.

I’ve been saying that since someone first brought up the Guardian one star review. Admittedly he’s played his own part in become a parody of himself but it’s such an incredibly lazy take to watch this (or read his newspaper columns about the farm) and not realise he’s making some important/interesting points about agricultural sustainability.

Yeah, feel the mix is so wrong with new top gear. If it was Chris Harris, another car buff, plus one of Paddy or Flintoff to add some laddy comic relief it'd be a lot better.

Time to give up on Top Gear. The magic died when the three stars left. There have been many presenters since and it's never come close.

I love the new top gear. Best it's been for years, including clarkson and gang which was getting stale.

It looks like it's being heavily watched (well, it's got almost 4000 reviews on Prime which is a lot compared to other shows on there) so it's bound to get a second season.

Yeah I’d be amazed if it didn’t. It’s been universally praised by just about everyone who isn’t the guardian I think.
