I know they have been crap this season but this has amazed me:

Chelsea away 1-2 won
City away 1-1 drew
Spurs away 1-3 won
Arsenal away 0-3 won
Man Utd away 2-4 won
Our form more recently has also been very good. I think we might’ve turned a slight corner, but I’m still wary of our ability to win our last three games. We’ve dropped stupid points all season.

Liverpool 1-1 WBA
Liverpool 0-1 Burnley

I see what you mean. If I remember correctly Liverpool were dreadful in both games.

Apart from the Utd game those wins were when we were assured favourites for the league again this season. City were nowhere at the time. Then lots of Fulhams and WBAs happened. Mad season (not in a good way). :(

Don’t think you were favourites for the League when you beat Spurs and Arsenal.

Klopp said he will be happy to see 10,000 fans at Anfield on Sunday, in his pre match press conference.

Let’s see if he delivers his promise and parade’s the PL trophy!

If Ole did this we’d more than likely face a points deductions and months of harassent from the British media. Looking forward to seeing the FA’s response (they’ll do nothing).

Liverpool and Klopp refusing to release Salah to participate in the Olympics despite him requesting to do so - poor that.

Meh, they're paying his wages, it's been a crazy season, and it's not quite the CAN or the World Cup. Nothing too shocking I think.
Agreed, clubs have to take a stand when it comes to some of these internationals - there are way too many and the Olympics is probably bottom of the pile for prestige/relevance.

If he explicitly asked to go to represent his country at the Olympics, I would've just let him. Making / keeping your key player happy is more important than him (not) being with us for 10 days during pre-season, it's not like he has to learn an entire new system or set-up or anything like that. Even if Egypt makes the final (doubtful), he'd still be back a few days before the start of the season. I know his schedule has been (and will be) packed but he's been off for quite a while now, should be okay.

The reports are conflicting though, some say he made a plea at Liverpool to "let him go", others just say that Egypt is very very eager to have their star player present at the Olympics and he just agreed that he'd go if Liverpool let him. If he's not dead set on participating and just doesn't want to turn down his country, I'd keep him at Liverpool as well. We'll have to miss him for the Africa Cup of Nations as well midway through the season.

Liverpool fans must be relieved that Hansi Flick will take over as the new manager of Die Mannschaft. I can see Klopp staying on at Liverpool for a while now.

Depends on how the managers at some of the bigger clubs get on. A rocky start to the season for Madrid, Barca or ourselves and he’s going to be high on wishlists. He’s not going to turn down any of Barca, Madrid or Utd either.

From a footballing perspective you're both correct but from a general athletics perspective the Olympics is top of the heap. Representing your country there and getting a medal is massive.

Klopp won’t go to a big club. He’s got a saviour complex and doesn’t cope well with the expectation.

Olympics football is U23s though, no?

Not exactly top of the heap once you've aged out of the category and are only there as one of three over-aged players in the squad.

Yes but it's still the Olympics. You're looking at it from a footballing perspective. Salah would probably be the flag bearer for Egypt, too. Big deal.

Now that Flick is taking over Germany, what can we hope for in terms of realistically getting Klopp out of Liverpool?

Simply the fact he'll get burned out and want a break from the game.
