Guardiola has stated that City can’t afford one player for £100m and says he will ave the same players, minus Aquero who was injured for months, that has won the PL 3 times which means he doesn’t want a genuine number 9. So Kane or Haaland have limited options if they are sold.

You’re thinking of an injured Rashford at the moment. I wish he’d have his surgery rather than going to the EC. Anyway.
Last season 21 goals, 15 assists.
Overall, 285 games, 93 goals, 56 assists. That in my book is pretty good for essentially a left winger
I am talking about his decision making and as i said before that has nothing to do with his injury, what is more knowing that he is not 100% ready he should be more willing to give the ball to other players instead of trying everything by himself.

there are players that have good stats but their general play has same issues and this is exackly where Rashford’s problems are. I am not saying that he is bad player but we are talking about two of the best players in the world in Haaland and Sancho and our best homegrown talent in years in Greenwood and comparing them to Rashford, even if they are more talented does not mean that Marcus is not in top ten under 23 players in the world. For our game we need someone who in addition to his stats will also provide sth to our general play and i think Marcus is not developing as good as he was and i would gladly replace current player with the one 2-3 seasons ago who was fighting for his place in the team and was aware of his limitations, the current one thinks that he is better than he actually is and Ole’s approach and our short squad is not helping. I like Marcus but i am not sure if he is gonna reach the level i thought he would 2 years ago. But i really hope to be wrong on this one.

Greenwood has still a way to go too.
I doubt we bought Sancho to primarily play him on the left
Looking at last season Rashford has 6 CL goals in 6 appearances. He’s a big game player. I think if we could get more consistency in the matches against “smaller” PL opponents he will be Wc

what a great problem for the manager to have though! Even if we don’t get Haaland (not convinced we will)

we need more good players then only first 11, and right now we do not even have that so let us have as good squad as we can and hope those players would gladly accept being on the bench from time to time to not run them to the ground like we did with Bruno and Marcus.

I'm sure Pep would take Haaland but when it's 'bidding war' City don't participate. The player has to say 'I want you and only you' and then City make good offers but that's not gonna happen with Raiola involved. My prediction: Chelsea or United next summer (70:30) then Barca/Real four or five years later.

We can't afford him this summer. As simple as that. I am not even sure the club will be dealing with an agent that will have played a role in Pogba leaving twice, for free.

Is that what all City transfers say?

Every time another club becomes involved and offers more money and City are asked to improve their offer they quit. Happened so many times since Txiki became City's DoF.

I think City just like to swoop in and do their business quickly before anyone else gets involved. Not sure I would characterise it as these players only having eyes for City.

Isn't that known as "tapping up"? which is illegal
It isn't illegal. It is always done. Sometimes the club get permission to speak to the player, other times they don't.

The potential selling club may get annoyed, which is all it is.

Has nothing to do with Real Madrid.
It's how the world works. These days you have large agent companies, clubs are working closer with agents both in terms of signing and selling players, everyone talks. Players are in far more contact than they used to be, whatsapp etc, as well. Clubs are happy to go along with it because it works for them, but there's always overstepping certain boundaries (Liverpool and VVD) which can land you in trouble. Ole talks to Haaland, father and son, it's nothing new, and you can be certain he's trying to use it to the clubs advantage, we'd be stupid not to. Dortmund accepts it because it usually works for both parties, if they suddenly end up in a situation where players are consistently forcing their way out of the club, then they'll start protesting. It hasn't happened often, Dembele is the last one and it landed them an obscene amount of money.
I wonder if Barca hadn’t tapped the player up so aggressively, they probably would have got him for quite a bit less when Dortmund eventually wanted to sell, like what happened with Sancho. Once the contract goes into the last year or two and the player isn’t interested you simply have to sell unless money is no object. I think we should do something similar with English players we think we want. Let the agent know the interest is there and play the waiting game. We can pay more than West Ham or Dortmund (for example) and we are also in CL. You’ll eventually get the player for much less if you have patience and you aren’t always just scrambling around for the next solution. Look at the list of players on the edge of contract expiry now? It’s fairly unprecedented. Most of the time clubs would have wrapped up talent like that every 2/3 years but the players just don’t want to anymore.

Barcelona were desperate to get the player that summer because they were forced to let Neymar go to PGS. Their supporters went mental and they needed a big signing to please them

As much as i want Haland but for the reported 150m and ridiculous wage and Raiola its better to stay away and try our luck next season when the release clause can be activate... Like city i hope us and united also should not pay more than 100m for an individual player.Just as PSG signed Mbappe for a record fee and he can leave for free next season, it may happen to Haaland.

Even next year with the release clause it's still going to be a bidding war in the sense of who offers Raiola the most gets the player

Agreed. Probably the greediest man in football. He sees his clients as his assets, not him being an asset to the player.

Not so sure… think Haaland will have the final say as to where he wants to play, then it will be up to Raiola to get the best deal for the player and his greedy self.

Agreed, this myth of Raiola as the ultimate puppetmaster have a lot of seemingly sensible posters in here losing touch with reality.

Pretty sure the decision making will be Haaland > input from dad> input from Raiola. Hopefully Roman has given Alfie a yacht by now!!

Dortmund gonna get mugged next season. Could have just taken the extra 30 million. They'll be their usual self, half relevant.

Extra 30 million from which club?
Next year 60M release clause will kick in ! Means they will lose him for 60M so its better if they sell him for 90M in this window.

With or Without Halland they are not going to win the league anyway.

I know what the poster means. I'm just wondering if they know which club has contacted Dortmund and offered 100m that they've rejected.
ahhh yeah, if anyone made an offer, my twitter feed would blowup!

It’ll be similar to the Hazard situation. Chelsea will simply bribe his family members and his agent to get the deal done if not this summer, then certainly next.

Interestingly they both also share the same initials.

Now or never for Chelsea probably. Mino would have his pockets so wildly filled too. Successful few years then on to Spain. Weird though, I never saw Chelsea as the English club he'd end up at, but the money is ridiculous if any of this is even true.

Feels somehow even more hollow than him ending up at City though

If they actually offer 175m € then Dortmund has to sell. Crazy money.
