Can you imagine the money v ambition narrative the media would be spinning, if we beat City to yet another target?

You honestly don't always know though.
Remember both Van Persie and Sanchez? Both looked 100% nailed on for City.
Different amounts of success of course, but doesn't change the fact they both decided to come here over City.

They will let him go, Levy is all about money. If he were to get a large cash injection plus two players with real value, he would take it.

80 million pounds won’t interest him at all, but 100 million and two assets that could potential rise in value. He is a money man first and foremost.

I just can’t see United putting in what is essentially a 170-180 million pound bid.
£100m plus Martial and DvB, id be more than happy if Harry was defo going to go, that's a £175m valuation at least.

Yeah, mental that would be. Spurs would be fleecing us.

I'd rather sell our two players and put it towards Håland next year.

Bad market right now though, we could end up sitting on players we dont need because teams dont want to spend actual money. And we clearly do need a striker. Haaland is a lot younger but frankly we could do without the Raiola factor.

He has lost some of his predatory ability since he became a deeper playing player.

Has to find balance between being a playmaker and striker. So many times we worked the ball upfield and he's nowhere to be found.

Poor guy had a very good game too before extra time.
First half maybe. Rubbish in the second.

Needs to stop trying to be something he's just not. He doesn't have the legs to drop deep.

Worst case for Tottenham fans clinging to the hope that winning this one would mean he was comfy with just treading water at their club for a few more years.

He's racking up a few final losses now.

I wonder who does like seeing him so deep.
Surely only his two managers?

Best he played in the tournament for the first 20 mins then England just tried to hold the score and he got lost in the churn.

WC diver as well.

I think any club would be mad to spend over 100m for him. He's still class in many ways, in certain moments, but the drop off is coming and I think it'll be steep.

I think you might be right. He doesn’t look mobile at all.

Thought he looked like an utter carthorse all tournament to be honest. Really wouldn't want to spend 100m+ on that if I was City.

Lot of faith he will be worth that based on current form.

He is still a class player but this version of Kane is more Berbatov than Van Nistelrooy.

Can’t have a Spurs player as your captain imo. Bad juju.

He's clearly a very good player but I wouldn't be distraught if Citeh end up spunking the odd £100mill+ on him.

Played alright tonight and clutch penalty but still won absolutely nothing.

Got to be holding Levy hostage at knife point first thing tomorrow to get that move.

He was poor in group stage and not great first half v Germany but after that acceptable tournament. Played a good part in the opening goal tonight and was good threat after in deep position although second half was a complete mess tactically from England.

Think he'd be very effective in the Pep system so just a question of how much he and Man. City force it.

Bit harsh, he was like Rooney in the first half. I blame the tactical changes.
I was talking about the playing style rather than the performance. I thought he was pretty good in the first half too.

In the second half when we were pinned back and needed an out ball for the counter-attack, he was nowhere to be seen. Was very poor at hold-up play and dived constantly.

Ultimately do we need a striker like Kane in the team? He is a very different forward these days compared to the Klinsmann-type striker he was in his early and mid 20s. Nowadays he is more Berbatov than not. He is often dropping deep in midfield to collect the ball and spray passes. He doesn't offer much movement upfront and he is average to poor at playing with his back facing the goal.

Jesus got 9 PL goals last season and Aguero got 4 so with the attacking talent and systems City play, he would unfortunately probably fit in very well.

United rely a lot more on a top number 9.

He'd definitely improve them, but I think he's tad overrated for what they'd be expected to pay. I'd be infinitely more gutted if they'd signed Haaland.

He tracked back a lot in the first half and was very good carrying the ball forward. I think he is great when we have possession, but will obviously struggle with his lack of pace when we need to play on the counter, not to mention lack of service in the second half from Sterling and Saka.

We have Bruno and Pogba who will do that job. Personally, I think Cavani's playing style perfect for our team and Kane plays nothing like him.
