I think he will have a good season. I hope he is back to his 2019-20 best, especially second half of the season.

Last year he was alarmingly bad but I fancy him to have a good season now. Strapping photo as well.

Very much the forgotten man now what with Cavani's form, Greenwood's continued emergence and now Sancho's arrival

Could go one of two ways, toys either go out the pram and he becomes a problem or he actually surprises people, I'm inclined to think the latter

Big season for him though

Fresh new thread and a fresh new start. Put last season in the rear view and hopefully Tony comes back and smashes it.

Fingers crossed Tony puts in real effort. His ability has never been in doubt, but the application of that ability has been appalling for far too long.

Why he is not back in training? All other non euro and copa players have returned. Any update?

You'd think Rashford would have a period on the sidelines recovering from his impending surgery, so its really now or never for Martial. Eager to see if he seizes his (final?) chance, especially playing alongside Sancho.

I feel that Sancho and Martial could hit it off extremely well, they both love their intricate passing and dribbling.

It's a world cup year this season, hopefully that spurs him on and he can play a rate consistently we know he can. He'd start the season in the first XI too most likely.

If he had continued the growth momentum from 2019-20 we could have plausibly won the league in 2020-21. But unfortunately he regressed instead. Very difficult for manager to plan beforehand based on him. Thankfully we have proper cover for him now.

The big question is where he plays. Do they persist with him up front or is he moved back to the left wing? Either way, likely to get a lot of games early this season; needs to hit the ground running if he wants a future here.

Have a feeling he starts the season up front.

We're here and we aint going nowhere

But yeah def a big season for him, but he'll benefit from having more playmakers in our squad.

Needs a big one. 30+ goal involvements, most of which don't come against League cup teams from lower divisions please
Im actually more used to seeing Martial doing well against good teams compared vs the lower leagues ones.

He has a point to prove this season. I think he will. Expecting/Hoping 20 goals from him this season.

When is he back in training? I would have thought he'd want to make an extra effort this year, considering he was out for the last few months of the season and had no Euros.

Is it finally now or never for him? He has to make a mark or he'll be a side-lined figure at this club.

Probably when he’s fully fit.

we're fecked if we are having to rely on an unreliable player such as Martial.

Let us all not forget, Martial is only 25 & should be entering the prime years of his career now. This will be down to himself, if he gets his head down & decides he doesn't want to mope around, he could potentially have a decent season, he's a special player after all (when he wants to be).

No doubt he should be getting a run of games due to Rashford's absence. Make or break season for him.

With Rashford out he should still not be starting. Greenwood eventually showed last season he’s capable of starting. However he still needs to be ready when called upon, so here’s hoping he shows the form of that one game at City rather than the rest.

Still injured after so long out?! Bloody hell.

Well hopefully he's fully fit for the start of the season because he's got a chance there. Otherwise if Sancho, Cavani, Greenwood nail down those starting spots, he's basically confirmed as a very expensive back-up

It feels like everyone is going into overdrive in their criticism of him. There's still a good player in there though, if he gets the opportunities I expect we'll see a vast improvement on last season.

Martial's career at United has been such a rollercoaster. He's had 2 very good seasons, two incredibly poor ones and 2 very average ones so who knows what we will get this coming season.

I hope to god he has a good one as I think we're going to have a lot of tired players given the schedule over the last 18 months has been stupid.

Given he should be really fresh having not played for ages I think it's a safe bet to assume he will start the season on the left.

Front 3 vs Leeds I suspect will be:

Martial Cavani Greenwood

*With a cameo from Sancho off the bench who probably won't be ready to start given he's now got a 3 week holiday.
