Hopefully that performance will get us a few more million for him.

Southgate just further serves to make me realise (more than i already do) just how lucky we are to have Tuchel incharge.

At 1:25 Tuchel: "Three coaches, three players; individual coaching. It's good for Hudson-Odoi, no hiding!"

Awesome to see Musonda back in full training. He'll go on loan for sure but would be awesome if he can have a good career after years out injured.

The training kit looks great.

An interesting collection of players there.

Moses £4.5m
Giroud £1.5m
Tomori £26m
Guehi £15-20m (Rumoured)

Total £47-52m

This would break my heart.
I can only think with selling both Guehi and Tomori that we're integrating Ampadu this season, (Silva, Rudiger, Christensen with Zouma, Ampadu, Azpi and James as options)

It's pretty much done.

At best he was going to be 5th choice centre back this season. I can see why he wanted to go.
We still don't know what Rudiger and Christensen intend to do about their contracts. Guehi is, in my opinion, the kind of CB most of Europe would be clamouring for if he was playing for Leverkusen or Atalanta. He's fantastic. It seems silly to let him go. I'd prefer to sell others to make room for him.

Reportedly we have a sell-on clause and rights to match any future transfer - helps a bit at least.
IF the sell on is 20% of the total sale and Palace get offers of £50m they'd owe us £10m as part of it

However we can then match the bid and would only need to offer £40m as the £10m sell on is negated selling to us. Seems smart as we either get a slice of the pie OR we can buy back cheaper than what other clubs would be willing to pay

I suppose. It's still a terrible decision.
I always want to see academy players coming through but we've already got so many CBs, even James has played there.

The reminds me of Lamptey being sold. It's sad but I get it from both the player and clubs point of view.

Guehi is 21, has never played a game in the Prem yet we've got £20 mil for him, plus a buyback & sell on clause if the reports are correct. It's not a terrible deal.

Yeah think it's the same structure of deal we used with Ake if I recall correctly.

From the club's perspective, he fits Tuchel's football 10x better than Zouma does. I'd have sold him to make room for Guehi, if that was an option. We play with 3 CB's so rotation among the CB's will be plenty, especially considering both Christensen and Silva are prone to little knocks and niggly injuries.

I'd there is a buyback clause, that is great but I had high hopes for him going into this season

I didn't follow Chelsea as much, but what happened with Ziyech?

Surely he needs time to settle in?

Surely a sell on clause isn't activated if we're the buying club? It seems to me that the two are separate and that the sell on clause is only activated if Chelsea decline matching the club's offer, like we did with Ake. We then get to pocket a % of that sale. I'm not sure combining the two and getting a discount is how it works.

Combining that is the only way it makes sense, but might still be two separate clauses, in that case Chelsea would have to pay 50m to match the offer from someone else, but would get 10m back. The selling club gets to keep 40m either way.

there were rumours of him moving on, but Tuchel still rates him. It wouldnt take a crazy over valued bid to buy him though. Inter is reported to be interested in him.

No way he is moving...

Surely a flair player like him needs more time to settle in.

Hopefully not. Ziyech had injury issues. Plus moving in a season that was difficult for a lot of players. I think he will come good, his passing is ridiculous and just the type of player we need against a team parking a double decker bus. On top of that, even though he was relatively cheap for a flair player, teams will try and get him for pennies.

Ziyech will need to improve his pressing when the ball is lost or he is not going to get a lot of minutes on the pitch. He has so much talent, but I don’t think Tuchel will over look him not pressing hard.

I think Chelsea might be the closest challengers to City this season. However we won't really know what the squads for the various teams will look like till the window closes.

All it takes is one big transfer to swing the pendulum in a teams favour.

One for chelsea fans, other than a striker what other positions need upgrading or reinforcing?
If VVD is back then its got to City and Pool fighting it out, correct? Then United /Chelsea/Leicester/Arsenal (without having midweek games could do better than expected)/Spurs fighting for the top 4

VVD injury did not make the goal totals go down for Liverpool last year. 85 the year before to 68 last year.

I mean, it could at least contributed, no? Theres probably multiple reasons but I don't think its outlandish to suggest that you set the team up with a way more defensive mindset and philosophy when you're starting your third and fourth choice CBs as opposed to the most dominate player in the league.

VVD was a big deal, but Mane missed goals that he would not have missed the year before. I dont think VVD coming back addresses all the problems, but it is football, they could be dominate again. I do think City, Man Utd, Liverpool, and Chelsea will be quality. It will really be who can have the most wins over lower clubs instead of draws. All of the top clubs go ultra defensive when playing each other.

Girouds spot gets filled by the promising Broja. Now I'm a bit undecided on Tammy's situation. If we are confident of landing Haaland this summer then by all means sell to the highest bidder. If we can't get Haaland then I'd rather stick to our options now, including Tammy, rather than go for some second rate hopeful.

Hopefully tuchel get his preferred players two or may be three. But no one has a clue who they are except may be haaland. But not sure how Chelsea will land him if Dortmund not letting him go.

Yes vvd is back Liverpool have another defender who can they count on but nobody knows how fit he can be. Liverpool will be city s closest rivals if Liverpool produce the output they had in cl winning season and pl winning season. But that's not going to happen because those point tallies are unique historically.

Especially players constantly playing without rest at top of the table will only benifit mid table teams.

For me city are favourites to win the title again. Closest challengers man utd after they signed Sancho. It will change relatively how summer transfers will be concluded.

Chelsea need to strengthen their midfield and striker options. Over reliance on kante jorginho will never give edge to chelsea in league and striker situation looked pathetic.Lots of ifs and buts when Chelsea count on Werner and havertz.

Tuchel is a plus for Chelsea from start might give 10-15 point swing in favour to chelsea but that's it. Over reliance on defense will be a downfall for Chelsea this season if summer window not able to give the required push.

I’d be surprised if Tuchel can do for a full season what he did gif 4 months.

Any sign of a striker coming in...? Don't see the Haaland links as remotely credible, no chance he goes same window as Sancho.

Still think we need someone other than kids from the academy to replace Giroud and Tammy. Must be some options even if just for a season till we go properly for Haaland next year.

Havertz will be in the mix to play upfront, won't he? Havertz, Tammy, Werner and maybe Broja all options for that 1 position.

Beat Peterborough 6-1 in the first pre-season game that just finished.

Loads of players missing as you can imagine and a ton of changes at half time.

Goal scorers were Tammy, Pulisic, Broja and a Ziyech hatrick.
