Levitt and Heaton are our best players in the first half. Difficult conditions but good run out so far.

Elanga had that one good run, and then became invisible.

Willians and Heaton the only ones looking like they belong here so far

About 70% of the squad is on holiday after the Euros, the rest of the senior squad that is still with the team are going to come on in the second half - as preseason has been, since, like forever.
Not sure when some of their holidays end, but shouldn't Cavani, Martial (still injured?), Vdb (injured?), Amad, James, Bailly, Jones, Dalot, McT all be here? It's MU vs Derby out there, but should be MU u21s vs Derby. Hoping, at least Lingard, Telles, Pellistri, Shoretire, Matic and Hannibal get 2nd half, as they're most likely to still be here come the start of the season.

Mason's touch is still so, so good. Didn't achieve much, but just looks a player.

Williams looked poor, everything good for Derby came from his side. When he tried to lay it off for Elanga I thought was odd. Does he not know the attacker won't be waiting for the full back to give him the lay off its always the other way round.

I've always felt that whenever we've had a solid preseason with lots of sexy results, we end up being shocking when the Premier League gets going.

Cavani was at the Copa America with Uruguay. James, Dalot, and McTominay were at the Euros. None of their teams went too far but they still deserve rest, I’m sure they’ll be back in the next few weeks. Amad and Bailly have just gone to the Olympics with Ivory Coast.

The only ones who should be there are Martial, van De Beek, and Jones. I’m assuming all three are currently injured.

Cavani was with Uruguay. Amad and Bailly with Ivory Coast, James with Wales, Dalot with Portugal, McT with Scotland.

At half time:

Heaton - some good saves so far
AWB - for a senior player he looks off the pace
Tuanzebe - decent performance and is leading the defence
Mengi - awful. made multiple mistakes and is hiding on the ball
Williams - struggling with his man but he is putting effort in
Garner - not done much yet
Levitt - getting on the ball but not doing much, same as Garner
Elanga - made some good runs but a bit invisible on the ball
Greenwood - been merely ok. could be nonsense but he's giving the impression he thinks he's above this game
Mata - looks just like he does in the PL. Calm and composed but slow.
Chong - looks good

If we’re playing shit why are we winning? Derby must be ass. Where are VDB & Diallo?

I'm interested to see how Pellistri does. Never really got to watch him properly before now.

We looked like Prime Barca in 2014 only to get beat by Swansea

Fair enough. Cavani I get it, they went to semis (right?). James and McT thought would be back by now, didn't know Dalot was at euors. Does Amad and Bailly's involvement in Olympics mean they will be back late for the start of the season?

Can't really say anything specifically positive about anyone tbh. First pre season game, but you'd still expect at least some of the bigger talents to show their class a bit more. Like I'd want Garner, Mata and Levitt to be controlling the game and Greenwood to be hard to handle at least. The midfield really not looking like anything special and Greenwood just anonymous.

Heaton is a good keeper at least. Think Hannibal when he comes on will be bright spark.

We're not that bad, only really Mengi has been genuinely poor, but yes Derby are shit. Our goal came from them losing the ball on the edge of their own box rather than any good work from us.

James, MctTominay, Dalot played at the euros. Cavani @ copa. Martial and VdB rehab/injured. Jones always injured. Amad and Bailly are at the olympics.

Thought Tuanzebe, Heaton looked quite all right. Elanga showed some glimpses. Preseason means feck all to first team players like Greenwood, AWB and Mata, but all the kids take it seriously.

Don't get the Garner hype. Williams is awful and Chong is shite despite scoring a goal.

Derby did well after the last restart. Had Heaton looking like 2018 DeGea! Let's see how the second half goes.

There was a lot of rumours that we are going to be playing 433 next season. I would have thought friendly match would have been the time to start playing that formation?

Anyway we have a better team this half, plus Lingardinho.

I suspect we will see why Pellistri will be going in loan again and Amad will not.

From whate I've seen Amad appears much much better

Tom Heaton has always been a very good keeper.

Would almost certainly still be a premier league starter if he didn't have the Cruciate Ligament injury
