Is there some way here to easily locate the post where the line ups are revealed? What was the scoreline? I hate having to search through 16 pages …

Lingard is our best option to rotate with Bruno for sure. As long as he can stay happy I guess. Difference was obvious with him and Matic on the pitch though.

Pellistri looks very bright but still small and raw, can see why he's too good for reserves but needs time in the Championship or something. Big potential as a right winger though. Shoretire had some decent moments. Pretty much everyone in the first half and most others were meh though, which isn't a huge surprise for the first pre season game, though I hoped for more out of Garner and want Greenwood to stand out more.
Agreed, if we can't get some 20 million for him to get some more funds for other transfers, we might as well use him next season as a rotation option for Bruno. He can run a lot and press from the front which is valuable for our system play. If he hits some kind of form he's really really good player, scoring a lot of goals, he could play some different game there for us, more as a second striker and presser, but plenty of games when his runs will be appreciated and quick thinking, finishing.

Btuno needs rest otherwise he can be truly shite for half his games played like last season, needs an obvious kick up his ass too. Still expect Bruno to play plenty of games, but that's only good with Lingard because his potential is reached and we can afford to put him on the bench..

Loved seeing pellestri round the keeper. It seems such a rarity these days, players tend to knock it past then hit the deck rather than putting it away.
It was probably the easiest way to score in that position, but fair play to him and his reaction to pull that out.. some players we know would freak out..

Always said that the ones who suffers the most in Man United are the strikers because lack of real chances for them.
Curious how it's not a serious problem for a true quality striker like Cavani, but the likes of Martial etc. always find an excuse... We have Luke Shaw who can clearly feed a striker, now we will have Sancho who will do the same from the right side. United strikers will run out of excuses pretty soon, but the question is if their consistency proves to be good enough

Andreas needs to go. Looked awful. Lingard was bright but just don't see him dealing with the pressure here. Pellestri was great. Fish had a nice header. Heaton was good. Shoretire was good. Matic looked a few years younger. Mata seems finished.

Laird is a full back, Levitt is a midfielder. Levitt was on loan at NK Istra last season.
And one has a slightly darker complexion than the other
I hope the individual never takes up commentary

It is not fair to judge for just the first game of pre-season but you'll hate to see Mata, Matic, Andreas playing for United this season. The rest they need to really warm themselves up to gather some momentum into the season

The kid was starting Copa Libertadores games a year ago. Facundo Torres had his debut season at Peñarol last year after Pellistri (the one considered the team's star) and just played in a couple of qualifiers and a few Copa América games for Uruguay.

If you are good enough you are old enough.

Everyone develops at different pace! But Pellistri is definitely too raw for the premier league still, it's a big change going to England from Uruguay. A loan in the championship would be great for him, take a half season to adapt to the physicality then a half season to really show his class.

Agreed it is just a case of European fans not taking foreign competitions serious. Those teams and competitions are no mugs. Those big rich fancy European teams usually only win with a one goal difference in the club world cup which says a lot.

Seeing Pereira is quite horrifying. Praying he can go on loan or get a permanent deal.

Ole is a nice guy and I fear he'll try to give them another go,, them meaning Lingard and Pereira. Perhaps Lingard can be okay as a squad player if that's what he really wants but we face dark days of 5th to 10th if these guys are used too much.

Not too sure what his role would be after we have signed Sancho?

He's young, plenty of time to grow and eventually come into a rotation role. If he and Amad do fulfill their potential and become part of the first team, no reason we can't have a group like Rashford, Sancho, Amad and Pellistri rotating on the wings in a few years. Greenwood and whatever striker up top. Never works out quite that way but you need quality depth.

There's no rule here. We had a shit pre-season after the last World Cup and that carried into the season.
Jose was very fortunate to survive getting the sack during that pre season, the style of play was diabolical and his press conferences were very toxic.
