Well, no team is going to win it every year. Not even City with almost unlimited funds do that. The point is we didn't fall off much and kept challenging despite losing the 2nd best player in the world. With some luck that year, we could've achieved basically the same results.

I think that was the beginning of the end. Sure we still made some decent signings after that but for most of the time it was more about mending the fence rather then seriously improving the side.

Surely this would have been done after the medical?
Not as easy signing German players since Brexit.
Transfer from Dortmund might have all been agreed and all the documentation on that side of it done, just not sorted out the player registration with the League and whatever else needs to be sorted on that side?

Only reason I can think of for why this hasn’t been formally announced is they don’t want to disclose the fee in case it affects other potential transfers? I’m sure clubs can find out how much players actually cost regardless of it being announced or the increasingly popular ‘undisclosed fee’
