Klopp defending the title this year and on course to win a third next season. José vindicated. New narrative being how solskjaer took mourinhos title winning side and turned them into a midtable team.

I'm for it.
This made me laugh, because its true.

In fairness, we've only had two seasons as bad as the one you are having under solskjaer. Souness' worst season and Hodgson.
In Klopp's first season taking over from Rogers you came 8th.
Rogers first season taking over from Dalgliesh you came 7th.
Hodgeson/Dalgliesh you came 8th
Benitez's last season you came 7th
Houllier's first season you came 7th
Souness/Evans season you came 8th.

So I'm not sure how you can claim you've only had 2 seasons as bad as the one we are having.

I'm honestly surprised UEFA have banned them, even if it won't stick.
They shouldn’t worry about the UEFA. Given all the back channels and all, the FCR will simply intervene to see why financial disclosures have been falsified.

Being banned from the CL will be a nothing story.

I am looking at points count.
After 25 matches, you've had 3 seasons where you have been on 35 points or less, 6 seasons where you've been within 3 points of where we are now.

As bad a season as we are having though, we're not in a terrible position squad wise, it's not like we have a hugely bloated squad of average players. We've just cleared out most of our deadwood and are in this position due to how thin our squad is.

De Gea, Romero, (Henderson)
Maguire, Lindelof, Taunzebe
Wan Bissaka, Williams, Shaw
Pogba, Bruno, Fred, McTominay
Rashford, Martial, Greenwood, James

That's a hell of a core of 17 players and only the 2 goalkeepers are over 26 years old.

We can probably rule Pogba out and raise £100m extra for the kitty. With a net spend of £120m we could have a squad that's comfortably top four next season and challenging for the league in two.

What's the third season out of interest? I only checked the obviously worst ones (Hodgson, Souey, gh+Evans).

Hell, let's have the other sixpence too if you have them. My body is ready.

I don't think that's "one hell of a core" tbh, once you discount Pogba, as much as it is a "promising for the future" one. 2-3 years from now, with the right coach, it is could be real good. And with 3-4 top signings over the next two years, they could be challenging for top honours.

I think you'd need to be doing a lot more things right in that period than you've done at any stage post Ferguson.

Years ago I always used to think that for Man City to ever win the league they would need to suddenly become rolling in cash and sign Jesus. To my utter shock and horror they did, although the Jesus I was thinking of was different to the one they signed. Now they have been caught cheating.

To be honest this does seem very Man City like and I'm loving it. I always had a feeling it would all end in tears and heartbreak

There seems to be two separate things mentioned in that tweet:
1) City have lost their appeal to keep details of the status of the Premier League’s investigation into the Der Spiegel hack emails confidential.
2) City have been fighting tooth and nail to avoid handing over documents

Surely they are digging themselves a bigger hole by not providing documents requested by the investigation team? And surely the PL has every right to publish the findings of their investigation?

The Sheikh's team of best lawyers in the world already defeated UEFA and I think there is nothing to worry about Premier League for them.

Well thats how they defeated UEFA right. Failed to comply until the statute of limitations of what they could be punished for expired

Not even close... anything that was time barred in the Uefa/CAS investigation was time barred long before Uefa even opened proceedings, never mind City telling them to feck off, likely since 2018..
Also the PL doesn't have said time barred rules so can use any and all evidence even the ones that were time barred by CAS for the Uefa investigation.

They only defeated UEFA on a technicality, that they couldn't be punished as the offences were too long ago (according to UEFAs own rules), as far as I know the PL has no such rules so it should be judged on its merits.

Uefa/CAS opening proceedings and City failing to comply with the original Uefa investigations (which proceeded 2018) is different though right?

I dont know anything about what is going on with PL so not commenting on that

Can't wait to see the Aguero goal wiped out and United having another PL title
Would be fantastic - replaced with Betroot Phil Jones celebrating with the fans, never again showing his heart break when Aguero scored.

It would also confine Tyler to the scrapheap of commentary moments.

What an irritating day that was. QPR were definitely paid off the way they carried on at the end of the game. Seemingly City were cheating anyway during that period yet it still took goal difference to beat us.

About time the universe corrected that.

Nothing will happen. City will get away with it whilst screaming that they’ve been victimised.

City are above the laws
Nothing will happen, any Court will laugh at the Premier League.

° First they need to prove that the Money is laundered into Sponsors, which is already difficult to Prove.

° Every Court will laugh at the Premier League. Like do u want a Court to stop Investment ?

I'm not defending City but FFP was created by the American Owner's and Perez , so they stay the biggest club forever and can suck the Money from Consumers and get all new Fans. It's like a Cartell. Without FFP the Glazers actually has to spend and couldn't take Money so easily from United
