Jesus. It hurts to breathe with a broken rib (personal experience), let alone run around. Maybe not all broken ribs are the same, or he’s just a beast.

He's playing through a pain threshold that is different for everybody. Not sure if he took injections or just rolled with the pain, but this is more impressive.

Should be good to go for the upcoming season and Shawberto is really coming into his own after all the adversity he's gone through early in his career. Extremely happy for him and just as proud that he's a United player.

It varies. I’ve broken ribs and barely noticed. Just had a sore side for a while. Only found out they were broken when I went for an mri for something else.

Not sure why people think he’ll miss the start of the season if he already played the next two games

do rib injuries miraculously get worse two months later or something?

If he played through the pain for England I’m sure Ole will want him playing through the pain for us as well! Rashford has been doing so for ages!

In all seriousness, the mental and physical strength this lad has shown has been phenomenal. He’s really came on and I’m eating my humble pie with a smile on my face — I thought he wouldn’t make it here.
Surprised he left you some pie

He is not normal. Loving every inch of Shawberto. Lets hope he's ready to tear the opponents apart once the season starts. Favorite united player hands down.

It turns out his pain threshold is another thing Jose Mourinho was completely and utterly wrong about.

Completely inept manager

It's extremely painful, that he played games after it is unreal, found it hard every time was bending down, 2 weeks after it were torture, cant believe he played elite games with that injury

The way Mourinho was consistently critical and cruel to him makes me proud to see how far he's come since Mourinho left.

Many players confidence in their own ability would have been destroyed by it at such a young age, I'm thinking of Zaha going back to Crystal Palace etc to me it's surprising that Shaw didn't end up back at Southampton, instead he's been patient, been strong mentally and showed the skill and form that attracted us to him in the first place and has continued to grow.

I hope he has a good rest, a good recovery and look forward to seeing him continue to develop more next season.

I recall someone saying I was being negative about this injury. Well, there you go. First Rashford and now possibly Shaw.

Same, feeling a sneeze coming on is a genuinely terrifying experience.
