He goes for nothing in January. No ones getting milked
PSG are struggling to convince Neymar and Mbappe to stick around their farmers league after paying close to half a billion between the two of them. If you think they can compete for Pogba in the open market against the likes of juventus and Madrid, you have another thing coming.

Their only hope is to bolster the squad now, win a champions league and pray Mbappe signs an extension to keep their bootleg investment afloat. They’ll pay a good price as long as you’re not the one negotiating against them.

Pogba may have had key moments last season. But I just can't ever forget how he and his agent costed us the match against RB Leipzig with their distracting antics before the match. We crashed out of Champions League and it lead to the ugly Europa League final we all know.

They are the reason AWB kept sleeping on the back post which happened plenty before this game and after or the weird tactics employed by Ole, their abilities really know no bounds.

If reports(big if) are true that we about about to receive a 60M from PSG then you can be assured that they have gotten indications off Pogba that he is interested in signing for them , that contact could be either directly or most likely indirectly as I don't think we have given anyone permission to talk to him yet.

If we got approx 70M or so for him we would be mad not to accept it , as it is only a few months now from January where he can do a pre contract with them anyway and no doubt will start picking up niggling 'injuries' again and we are not likely to see much of him after that as his head will be elsewhere.

Letting him go for zero money next season makes no since if there are decent offers now.

But the important thing is for the club to confront him and get it sorted now and not waste the rest of the transfer window on this , either he is signing a new contract or he is off. Either way do it quickly so we can plan properly for the season coming up.

Was that really the main reason we crashed out though? We were just utter dross on the night and didn’t turn up. I also remember De Gea made a couple of mistakes with his goalkeeping with them scoring from it. It's abit rich to blame it all on Pogba and his agent mouthing it off really, it's just a very poor excuse

Confident foreign black lad, wears bling jewellery, “lazy” body language on the pitch, loud mouth agent. He was always going to be micro-analysed in this country sadly. There is a section of people who will never get over their idea of what a footballer should be, “good honest lad, passion, blood sweat & tears” and all that.

I’ve said this for a while and it’s constantly derided despite being true, Pogba is one of our most consistent players. He has less bad games than all of his midfield counterparts, including Bruno. He doesn’t have the “G/A” to cover him when he isn’t great in a game.

McTominay can drop a 3/10 every other game, radio silence. Pogba misplaces one pass, all hell breaks loose.
You hit the nail on the head. With Pogba, every mistake is a flaw. You'd think Toni Kroos is a defensive genius compared to Pogba for example (and Pogba is far more creative), with the way people go about Pogba here. For me Pogba is a more consistent player than Bruno, but you'll never see some of the discussion we constantly get about Pogba for Bruno. Nor do I think we should, cause I think it is wrong. All midfielders, especially creative ones that take risks give the ball away but you would think Pogba does it far more than most.
I stand by what I said. I have never seen a midfielder as micro-analysed as he is.
I have no doubt in my mind if he was white, short hair, no tattoos, no jewelry, Pogba won't be as divisive a topic. People can deny it all they want. You had a poster earlier saying they don't like him personally...I mean come on. Pogba is one of our most consistent players.

Exactly, no one is paying 50m for a player they can get for free next yeat in this market. Personally i would flog him for half that if we could if it seems like he wont sign a new contract. Bored of having a player that doesnt obviously fit anywhere in the team and is a bit of a pain in the arse

Oh come on ... ffs

Footballers who are worshipped by their fans usually display one or more of those qualities or constant positive contribution. Pogba has contributed non of these. He may well be a good lad but £90m should buy you more than that.

McTominay can drop a 3/10 every other game, radio silence. Pogba misplaces one pass, all hell breaks loose.
Nonsense. McT is pretty limited. I'd rather Pogba plays.

So this would mean that we haven't had black players who we've worshipped, which is nonsense and also that there would be no white players we've criticized. Just wrong.

He's been microanalysed because he was expensive and has not proved to be worth the money. Not his fault maybe, but I don't think he's helped himself.

I think Pogba is microanalysed because no one on this earth can decide if he is world class or not, so people debate forever on this. I've seen him for 5 years and I still can't decide if he is a good or bad player overall. My opinion changes day to day.

He's probably one of the best midfielders I've seen technically, and one of the worst I've seen tactically. Added to that, his form is volatile on a level which would make bitcoin proud.

I would like him to stay, but only if he wants to and certainly not for 400k a week.

Cant remember a players hair generating so much rage as Pogba's first few years at Utd

Biggest issue I have with Pogba is the circus around him. The fact that he lets his agent bad mouth the club and undermine the manager for several years now, whilst running down his contract.

He's obviously a very good player but not world class. He has all the ability in the world but you need more than that to be world class. He lacks intelligence and his decision making will continue to be his biggest downfall.

Same for me. I have been a big supporter of his up until the shenanigans before the Leipzig match. It might not have been the reason we lost the match but it's annoying that his agents big mouth can become a topic of discussion in those situations. Same reason that whilst I love Haaland as a player the thought of having to deal with Raiola again just puts me off. I have never cared about the, hair the jewelry etc. The agent is what gets to me.

Oh the incredible marketability of Luka Modric, that's me convinced.

If you actually believe he came mainly because of social media, there's no point discussing this any further.
I never said that. I said it played a part, not that he was somehow hard done by because he had to play with Fellani as you suggested

To be honest I really hope this summer is the end of it. I won't miss his pirouettes deep in our half handing the ball back to the opposition.

There's getting micro-analysed, and then there's the treatment Paul Pogba gets. I don't know how even his biggest detractors would disagree with that. It is always polemic with Paulie.
I agree that some of the stick he gets it’s completely unfair and probably has an insidious motive behind it but when you’re a top earner at a big club you will always be micro analysed.

I think Raiola has said that this will be Paul’s last big contract so I don’t think they care about the league. Just the pay day and some trophies

It's really not. He's in his final year and hasn't shown a seasons worth of consistent form in years
Still one of the best midfielders out there. They need him more then us, he would fit them perfectly.

That's taking it to the other side.

I have been following Pogba closely ever since I met him and spoke to him when he was still a United youth. He came across as a determined, individualistic and somehow stubborn person who knows what he wants and will get it irrespectively the toes he might step on the way.

Pogba's experience at Juventus was immense. He was able to punch his way into that midfield at record time which is extraordinary considering that they had Pirlo, Marchisio and Vidal there. Pogba shocked the system so much that at one point Marchisio (who was taunted to become Juve captain back then) toyed with the idea of leaving the club. That's how good Pogba was. However even back then some teething problems popped up. Conte tried to change his play and failed. Allegri tried to do the same and failed as well. That was not a problem for Juventus because Pogba was simply too good in what he did. Which is why both managers had warned United not to try to reinvent the wheel with the guy, something that we keep on doing till this very day.

Unfortunately that's a problem for us. We've been blessed (or rather spoiled) with top midfielders who had done their outmost to succeed at United. That included changing their game and sometimes their role as well. Paul Scholes started his United's career as a striker. He ended his career as a deep lying playmaker. Keane was an attacking minded midfielder but was switched into a defensive midfielder while Carrick came as a B2B player only to become a Deep lying midfielder. I can name other 'lesser' players like for example Fletcher who spent some time playing as RW for god know why or Phil Neville who was plugged out of defence and thrown as a DM at one point. Irrespective of that, United has a very low tolerance to BS in terms of midfielders. Top quality midfielders are expected to immediately do well and just switch their game with little to no disruption. Those who somehow rebel to that were rejected rather brutally. JSV, Veron and even Ince who was kicked to Inter the moment he decided that he wanted to play in a more advanced role.

United had been unusually patient with Pogba but will not back down on what they expect out of a top midfielder. Meanwhile Pogba refuse to change his style of game no matter whose the manager (Conte, Mourinho, Allegri, Ole etc). Mino's 'contribution' doesn't help either. If you ask me that's the recipe of a partnership that was set to fail. Its like partnering Scholes with Kim Kardashian, Marcus Rashford with Katie Hopkins or Nancy Pelosi with Donald Trump. It ain't going to work.

So I'd say lets cut the losses and move forward.

If we can get £50 million then that will cover the Varane fee and should leave us some funds to sign another midfielder. No point keeping a player who clearly wants to leave.

But what is it that he wants? And I am not being disingenuous here, but since you have an insight into how he is perceived by people who know him better than the media, I am genuinely curious to know?

Does he want to be the best player/CM in the world? Because at least on the pitch, for all his talents (and I think he's easily one of the most talented players in the league) he has never come close to dominating games that the true elite do.

Does he simply want to enjoy the trappings of a luxurious life while putting in simply what's required of him on the pitch, but never going beyond what is essentially his duty as a footballer?

Does he want to have a bloated trophy cabinet? Does he want to be one of the highest paid players in the world?

Didn't we win that match?

Anyways, his agent wouldn't be mouthing off all the time and him dreaming of Madrid and juve if we were better run as a club. And you bet Haaland will be the same situation if all we do is challenge for top 4.

I think the writing is pretty much on the wall. He wants to make ridiculous amounts of money hence why he hired Mino Raiola as agent. He also want to play in a free role style with hard working cnuts doing all the dirty work

If he can't show it consistently, he's not.
Don't you think he has in last 3 years? He was our best player in Mourinho last year/ Ole first year. Then was great in Ole's second year but got injured and was good when he came back. Started slow last season ( looked unfit due to Covid which he himself admitted) and then for a period we looked great with him and then got injured again which effectively ended our PL campaign.

I would say he is more injury prone than people think he is. There was a discussion that his love for Basketball is causing injury but I can't find the article where I read it.

If we had Pogba fit throughout the season maybe we would have been much closer to City than we were. I am sure Pogba will excel at whatever club he goes and if it is PSG, he will medals there. Football is a team game and we just didn't have a team which was good enough to win titles.

Pogba being black and flashy also doesn't help. Plus his loudmouth agent makes him look bad but from the all the players account of him, he seems to be a great guy.

So he is basically no different from the people you see in every organization. Supremely talented people who realize they are good at what they do and are initially motivated to be the best. But when they realize the sacrifice it takes to be the best, and coupled with the leeway their talent gives them, settle for a comfortable life, doing what is required of them, but never going beyond to what is expected of them.

And fair enough, every organization needs such people, not everyone can be a Michael Jordan or Cristiano Ronaldo. But you can't make such people the key figure in your organization. Based on this then, PSG is indeed the best choice for him, and for us.

No

He was our best player in Mourinho last year/ Ole first year.
No, he wasn't. He had a very good 3 months from Nov - Jan and then everyone got on a hype and looked back as though he was consistent throughout the season. But he wasn't. He was up for it for a few months and non influential for the rest.

Then was great in Ole's second year but got injured and was good when he came back.
Eh? Great? Again, no he wasn't. He certainly wasn't bad, but great is certainly too far. He has a high benchmark for himself and it wasn't met to that standard consistently enough. I recall Bruno coming in the 10 and killing it, and finally putting an end to the narrative "Pogba just needs better players around him to put his chances away".
Started slow last season ( looked unfit due to Covid which he himself admitted) and then for a period we looked great with him and then got injured again which effectively ended our PL campaign.
It's not his fault for the reasons you said, but last season was just another off season nonetheless.

All in all - he hasn't shown it for one reason or another. Move him on, he doesn't even want to be here. I don't get the infactuation for a player who doesn't want to stay, who allows his agent to talk constant shite about us and who for one reason or another, hasn't been able to demonstrate enough consistency to warrant his place as a PL great or even United great.

Got nothing against the person and as a player he oozes class but he hasn't shown it in a United shirt near enough. He wants to go, just move him on.

You honestly believe the bolded? Have you watched him play for us in the last 5 years? He is one of the most inconsistent players I've ever seen. Brilliant one game and appalling the next.

I'm sure there are a small section of our fans that have a problem with his appearance, his lifestyle and his skin colour, but I'd wager what most people are frustrated with is the inconsistency in his performances and the fact that for £89m we should be getting world class performances from him week in week out and he is not capable of it.

Problem with Pogba is he is not even consistent over 90 mins let alone game to game. Nothing to do with hair, jewelry etc. He flits in and out of games, one great pass or piece of skill will mask a game he was poor in. It frustrates people because the talent is there. We had a similiar issue with Januzaj a few seasons back, when he was on form it was effortless, but when he couldn't be arsed he was woeful. Pogba has talent, no-one doubts that, but his application is poor. People reference the antics of his agent, Pogba himself previously openly spoke about his dream to play for Real and with Zidane. That's infuriating to us fans, our supposedly top player openly saying that. Bruno has been criticised towards the end of last season by us, but that was due to him being overplayed. You see his desire, you compare it to Pogba, it's night and day. Pogba has more natural talent than Bruno, but I know which one I'd put my faith in, and it's nothing to do with skin colour or tattoos.

Just use analogies. The people who still don’t get that he’s like a high-maintenance luxury item bought by a dumbass only interested in the status symbol will never get it.

He’s like a multimillion pound house with a gym and a pool and all the trappings except none of the toilets flush and have a propensity to spew sewage all over without warning.

He’s like a ‘59 Gibson Les Paul that has an undiagnosable wiring issue where it’ll randomly lose signal mid-concert.

So when Bruno scores a dozen goals in the league he's killing it, when Pogba does it it's not even great? but of course you have nothing against the guy...

When Pogba's goals and assists from a 10 match up to Bruno, you can come back to me. For example Bruno walked in from the Portugese league, played half a season and got a better goal tally than Pogba has in any given season. Of course this is not about goals solely but you're the one that is seemingly claiming Pogba's scoring to be comparable to that of Bruno's, which is hilarious. Pogba has only hit double digits once in his career, in fact. I don't expect him to be a chronic goal scorer, but youre the one weirdly bringing goals into it.

Pogba can't consistently perform over the course of a season - this was an issue with Juventus too. If you can't face the facts that's fine, but don't just suggest bias because you're upset.

No, he wasn't. He had a very good 3 months from Nov - Jan and then everyone got on a hype and looked back as though he was consistent throughout the season. But he wasn't. He was up for it for a few months and non influential for the rest.

Eh?

This was his stats from Mourinho last season

And he was great last year and year before that. It's amazing how parameters change when it's Pogba. It's like people just refuse to remember when he was good and then use one misplace pass to define his season. He bossed it at Euros but the most post was about an incident which he wasn't even entirely at fault for.

I get it most don't want him here but that doesn't change the fact the he has been good for us.

You’re wasting you’re time here mate. The reason people don’t like Pogba is nothing to do with what he does on the pitch. It never has been. People see what they want to see, Pogba’s many good games will be ignored but as soon as he has a bad game they’ll point to that for confirmation bias.

God help this club if pogba leaves, you are crazy if you believe that he went missing in all those games xD
Those games and the EL final and most of the semi finals we were knocked out in.

Pogba is a player who shines when the team is playing well. But he isn't talismanic and he is a liability anywhere near his own goal.
