Experience is not just about your years playing football. It's also about the mental aspect, losing big games like cup finals and learning from those disappointments to form your character, along with learning how to deal with the pressure etc.

We've recently seen him awarded a MBE for his brilliant off-field work. I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's not about your number of years playing it's about your mental maturity that improves your all round game.

His physical age is 23, so when he reaches 27/28 his mental game will be at a much higher level than now. Most athletes will tell you the game is 80/90% mental and Rashford is already physically superior to Depay i.e Skill, pace etc. Conbining his mental aspect that's why I stated he has a higher ceiling than Depay.

Depay also went on record to say he wasn't mentally ready while at United, whereas Rashford at a similar age to him at the time has been our star player for a number of years.
Rashford has been through all that early and is considered a senior player at United! (a big club). His mental age should be very advanced as he has pretty much experienced all aspects of football bar a title challenge. He has been to two European finals. Depay was different as he was making a jump to a big club after only 3 seasons as a pro and it was too soon for him which makes sense. Has Depay even been to a world Cup?

He was in the shortlist for talent of the tournament with Pogba and Varane in 2014, scoring 2 goals in the group stages as cameo's. He was 20 then.

The year after he stayed after there was interest for him, he made PSV champion by being top scorer and the best player of the league.

Alabama but always Wales in my heart
Thiago Silva to Chelsea
Zlatan to us previously
Ramos is a free agent and I doubt he's taking a pay cut to sign for his next club.
Lewandowski was also a free agent when he signed for Bayern.
Can
Rabiot
Ramsey
Calhanoglu
Meunier

Plenty more to add. It is becoming much more common but the issue is less the players and more so the agents and in particular the mega clubs like Juve and Barca who are running at massive losses but use their aura and ability to pay good wages to scoop up bargains even if they don't actually fit a particular need. The transfer system at the top end is beginning to unravel and shorter contracts plus more free agency is inevitable.

He's 27 now. 28 after the new year. This is probably as good as he'll ever be in his career. Is that enough for Barca? His he really good enough to take them back to where they want to be?

of course not, he is there for depth and to replace Braithwaite. He is not a key player to bring them back to winning the big trophies

Was one of my favourite players when he first joined us and genuinely thought he would become a world-class player at United. Sadly it was anything but that :(

He is 27 now and entering his peak years and can give Barca 3-4 years of good service if he stays injury free at least. Him on his own won't transform them into CL contenders again but he will be a player who I feel would be in and out of the team, not guaranteed to start every game but mainly to beef up their squad with better quality depth than they do right now.

Wish him all the best.

He's 27 until he's 28.
