Another decent episode.
I laughed out pretty hard when the "Diamond Dogs" were called to help resolve Roy's troubles

Binged in 2 days - annoyed it's not the complete season haha. Favourite show I've watched in a long time.

His speech before taking his last turn in the darts match was great. Very inspirational for anyone who believes are underestimated!

Yeah the darts scene was great! If we were all more like Ted the world would be a better place.

Started watching this & really enjoying it. Thought it would be a parody but it’s quite good with decent characters & solid writing.

The Ringer review was:
Ted Lasso isn't supposed to be good. But it is!
Pretty much. Was dreading it, especially after the Inbetweeners’ writers attempt at a football comedy was as poor and predictable as expected... but somehow it’s just effortlessly likeable.

Even the characters who should feel 2D and cliche, like Brett Goldstien’s Keano proxy, eventually end up being fuller than they would in another, lesser show.

Pretty much echoing everyone else. Expected it to be filler comedy garbage, but hugely surprised with how good it is. Every 30 min episode feels packed with content and actually leaves you wanting more.

Just extremely well done, and the character and comedy that I think 2020 needs.

I thought you hated Sudeikis?

tbh, I never found the original character from the NBC ads funny, and I just never really warm to Suedikis in whatever movie he's on. But I follow The Ringer on twitter, and they give a good write up, and decided to give it a shot.
Pleasantly surprised and I eagerly anticipated new episodes every Friday. Season finale this week!

The song at the end ruined everything...

Whoever marketed this should be sacked. So much better than what I thought & completely different to what I expected. One of the best shows I’ve watched in a while. Genuinely enjoyed it.

It gave me images of Liverpool getting relegated... So that was good at least.

Anyway, great show, look forward to season two...

Late to the show, but binged it in a day (lockdown vibes). When I heard that they were making a character from those promos that I was only aware of from streaming American coverage of our games, I thought that it was a dumpster fire of an idea. I mean those ads were not funny in the slightest. But fortunately, the 'oh I'm American and don't understand football' jokes are actually not as common as you'd have thought. My three major criticisms are it isn't really laugh out loud funny much of the time, some of the scenes are a bit too 'american' in trying to make you sympathise with characters and that football will never translate to the screen well - I'm yet to see any film or show that has done it even passably well. BUT, and to parrot the line that is being said by everyone who's watched it, it has a whole load of heart. Just a real nice wholesome watch, with good writing and great character development. Literally the exact kind of show the doctor ordered for this shit lockdown malaise. Very glad to hear its been renewed for a second and third season, although I worry that it might run out of steam a little. I would really recommend for someone wanting to watch a pick-me-up type of show with the added benefit of it being a show about football.

Oh fourth criticism, when they play away at Everton you can literally see the Fulham badge outside the stadium as they used Craven Cottage as the exterior.

We need a Micah Richards type character in the show who becomes best friends with Roy Kent in the next season!

It's absolutely tremendous. Along with Cobra Kai, the best current show out there, for me. It's the sort of show you sit there and watch constantly smiling and there's some genuine laugh out loud moments which I don't get with many comedies. The Lasso character is seriously likeable and everyone else has nice depth and interesting character arcs. I'm genuinely invested in everyone and I want more. Only small criticisms are 1) sometimes the English characters speak in Americanisms ('parking lot' is one off the top of my head but there's more) which the English actors should've spoken up about and 2) ideally I'd like more of the team to be more than just extras or characters we haven't learnt about yet, but I suppose there's time to flesh them out and expand the show's world.

I've just watched the first couple of episodes. I was just putting it on out of boredom as I wasn't expecting much. I enjoyed the original sketches but didn't think it would translate brilliantly to a series, but I have to say I'm really enjoying it.

Oh also, the journalist, Trent something? Don't think I've seen him since he worked at the Travel Tavern in I'm Alan Partridge.

Love that the new season will sneak in before my 12 month Apple TV sub runs out.

My free year (+ 3 extra months) expires 28th July

Do they release all episodes in one go?

Just saw a thing on IMDB saying that Rebecca is yer one from Game of Thrones who says "shame, shame, shame" and tortures Cersei. Never would have copped that.

Ha, feck, picturing her in it now it makes sense but I'd have never put it together.

Enjoyed the opening of season two, such a nice show.

Honestly don't think i've gone from disliking to liking someone as much as Jason Sudeikis in ages.

Yeah he really nails the character. He's just so likeable. Reminds me a bit of Leslie Knope.

It's the best show in a while. I think I'm going to wait until more episodes are out for S02 as I do not fancy waiting a week for the next one.
