After looking at this thread a few weeks back, I watched Mr. Robot and my missus has been leaving The Big Bang Theory on in the background whilst she/we did other things.

Can now confirm that both of these shows finales are very satisfying and well done. I also think the Big Bang Theory isn't as bad as I remembered it being (I liked it when it first aired for a while but felt it got weak as time went by). Having seen a large majority of it again and the ending, I think it's good and the ending in particular is close to perfect (I also assume it was a little rushed due to contract disputes, but maybe this helped as they'd have dragged it on for years more otherwise).

Breaking Bad is still the king, though.
Hold on, so whilst “watching” Mr Robot you were also half watching BBT at the same time on another screen?

If anything, today I found out someone can like Mr Robot and Big Bang Theory it seems, madness.

Sopranos still continues to be my answer.

Apart from obvious ones (Breaking Bad, Sopranos), Das Boot's end was ridiculously good.

Rome had a very decent ending with historical irony attached. Titus Pullo was a character.

Lately Black Sails, surprising from start to finish and quite the send off it was.

Devs, actually made open ending tolerable one for a change.

Mr Inbetween is one of my new favorites just for the final scene alone.

Upvoting anyone saying Blackadder or Spartacus. They both made me shed a tear.

For sitcoms, I think the ending of the original Scrubs (ie the end of Season 8) was a 10/10.

I have to say the ending that was by the bravest at the time was the "Mash" ending. This was a much loved series at a time when some things just weren't discussed openly and the final episode could have just been one long love-fest of goodbyes but instead they went with one of the hardest hitting stories they could think of, mixing loss, mental health and futility of war without ever getting preachy. the nature of finding it hard to say goodbye and things falling apart was wonderfully portrayed as well.

That final episode encapsulated the whole show and was a long lasting memory, both heartwarming and bittersweet, like how all such "endings" should feel.

Mate, that is good news. I have always planned to rewatch it "someday". But at the same time I was worried that it aged badly and my memories will suffer :).

I will definitely give it go soon.
Watched it again during lockdown myself for the 3rd run. It's still class.

Since I’ve finished yet another rewatch yesterday, it’s my duty to once again declare the Sopranos the obvious best ending ever.
Nothing else even comes close.

Feet up at home.
Just rewatched the whole thing - Fringe.

They tied it all up so well after losing their way a bit.

The Extras christmas special has a nice ending, the big brother rant, running away from the press conference and then driving off with Maggie. Underrated show in general, which seems to live in the shadow of The Office.

Adding Justified to this. Finished the program last night and thought it was so brilliantly done.

Scrubs (original)
Fleabag
Justified
Lost
Breaking Bad

All very good finales.

Lost was great. I didn't like the show as a whole, but the ending made up a lot.

Sopranos.

Mr. Inbetween was nice. Mad Men got me a bit uninterested but the finale was decent.

Thought the ending of Hannibal season 2 was one of the best pieces of tv i've ever seen. Then they made a weirdly weak 3rd season.
Breaking Bads ending made the show for me. I grew to hate it over the seasons and the last few episodes saved it for me.

The Good Place nailed the finale for me. Nothing else seems as perfect an ending

Sopranos.

I couldn't stop thinking about it for days after. An absolute masterpiece of a show and the end encapsulated that perfectly.

The Wire

Despite the final season being the weakest, the ending was beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. Nothing will ever change.

Mad Men.

Like the Sopranos, open to interpretation but really well done.

Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

Really well done for a comedy and carried some real emotional weight.
