He’ll be quality there unfortunately but he fills a hole that they didn’t have, so I find it hard to get too worked up about it.

Plenty would be interested tbh. Sterling had a terrific Euros and is still one of Europe's best wingers, even if his last season was underwhelming. And Jesus would probably do well in Spain or Italy.
Who then? And at what price?

The Spanish clubs are pretty much out of the game.

If it's Bernando Silva out for £50 million and Grealish in for £100 million, I actually think City are worse off financially and talent wise. Silva is a cracking player who suits City's style of football better than Grealish. Not worried one bit about this transfer.
Bernado has been poor for quite some time though, when he plays for City it's usually in midfield because he doesn't offer enough in attack. For Portugal in pretty much all their games at the Euros he was very poor. He's technically very good but he suffers from Mata syndrome in that he's slow and can't beat a man. It's no surprise he's the one they're looking to offload, unlike us who've decided to keep Mata around 5 years past his usefulness date.

Who is going to buy them?
Well that’s another question. Bernardo to one of the Spanish clubs is pretty much nailed on. Juventus have continuously displayed their interest in Jesus.

Sterling would be a bit more tricky to sell, but his performances in the EUROS have definitely reinstated his reputation, to some extent at least.

I don't think City care about fetching a substantial fee for either of them. Being an Oil state's plaything they hardly need to sell to become financially competitive, and even with navigating around FFP waters they could just pull another 'sponsorship' out of their arses to balance the books.

I don't think they'd be in a rush to force those players out unless the players themselves pushed for a move. They'd strengthen their already ludicrously strong squad depth, and their wage bill is probably their Sheikh overlord's lunch bill anyway.

Unless you're selling them cheaply I can't see who will be interested and have the money. The big Spanish clubs are in turmoil financially and there's not much money floating around in Italy with the champions having to sell their best players.

PSG? Bayern? Premier League?

Don't think you'll have clubs banging down the door at the moment and with the window past the half way point.

Obviously he’s a top quality footballer, but the fee is huge. Sancho for almost £30m less is great business.

Feel City also wanted him even more after how much love he got from the entire nation during the Euro’s. Big attraction for their PR team no doubt.
#boyfrombrent (Sterling) is arguably as big a PR attraction if not bigger, and everyone’s saying they’re going to bench/sell him.

Just read that he might be available to play for them at the weekend! Amazes me how other clubs get deals done so quickly compared to us!

While it sucks for the rest of the league, it does make the prospect of winning the league all the more sweeter. 06/07 was my favourite league triumph because of how we finally managed to rebuild and dethrone the Russian crook and his billions.

Bernardo provides something at a level that none of our other players really do. His tenaciousness and energy has always been his best attribute. He was poor in 19/20 after a phenomenal 18/19 campaign, but last year he quietly went about his business and I think he ultimately had a very strong season.

That being said, in Grealish we get that same level of tenacity (Jack’s pressing is one of the most under appreciated aspects of his game), but with more flair and directness. It makes sense to offload Bernardo at this stage, as sad as it will be to see the back of him.

Guardiola is emulating Ferguson and it's absolutely sickening.

I can't help but admire what he's building there. But it hurts even more knowing United would have been the first choice for both Guardiola and Grealish.

Im assuming City are going to play with a false nine or no striker next season. The sort of shit only Guardiola can really do and make work to ridiculous levels. Because looking at their squad, they have Sterling, Foden, Mahrez, Silva, and Torres for those wide forward positions, and only Jesus as a real striker. So I don’t really see how this improves them too much. Grealish is a bit of an upgrade on most of them, but nothing that takes them up a level IMO. Unless the plan is to play him as an 8 along side KDB instead of Gundogan. But that would seem pretty odd to me.

Id have expected City to go all in for Haaland or Kane as the one signing that would give them something they don’t already have.

He’s obviously a cracking player, one of my favourites in the league, it’s just not where I’d have expected them to invest.

He's spent almost a billion to emulate fergie.

At Barca he had aguably the best club side handed to him, then off he went to Munich to cherry pick all the best players in the league, now he's at citeh with an open cheque book and the rules don't apply.

More like a shit plastic kinder toy fergie than an emulation.

Grealish is objectively better than "Rashy" by almost any player attribute you want to pick.
OK, how about career goals? Premier League goal contributions? International goals and assists? Goals/assists per 90 in European competition? Top recorded speed? European finals reached? High stakes goals scored against PSG?

Or do you just not know what "objective" means?

City have De bruyne though? Pep wants to play him as an 8 so we could have bought him to replace Pogba.
We arent funded by a state and have more gaps in our team? Who spends that much in another LW/AM when our midfield is bang average and we need to go but on a cF soon. And need a rB it seems.

He can be their new David Silva, who was one of the best players I've ever seen. United were highly linked with Silva for several years, only for City to take him. Now it will happen with Grealish. I'm very upset by this.
Do you actually watch football?

Exactly who does Grealish displace…Sterling or De Bruyne?
Sterling was benched last year. Grealish will go left wing or replace Gundogan as KDB's partner when they can afford to do that. RW/CF will be 2 of Sterling/Foden/Mahrez.

Not at movement off the ball, pace, running in behind, goal threat, shooting, big game performance history, age, generally anything with being an inside forward, productivity, etc. Not even work rate defensively where Grealish really scrapes the bottom of the barrel.

Grealish is a pure creator, an excellent one but let's not be ridiculous. Rashford is an excellent inside forward and Grealish will never match Rashfords goalscoring numbers and likely not overall productivity levels either, likewise Rashford couldn't match Grealish as a creator. Anyway the comparison should be Sancho vs Grealish and Rashford/Greenwood vs Foden/Sterling, as that will be the creator vs creator and inside forward vs inside forward.

No. He was a United fan but he did start in City’s academy. Said he wouldn’t go to his son’s wedding if he married a City fan. Daft but he was never City.
These fan thing are very cringe like the term real barca have better pull. Nothing like that. Nobody want to play for peanuts just because they are fan for certain club.

Players always choose which club pay better. Nothing suggests otherwise.

Finally grealish will play for team that will challenge for titles. Let's see what he is capable of. The over rating and under rating of him will come to conclusion in few more months.

Seeing Grealish going to city feels like seeing an ex get a bf but you know she still has feelings for you, but it’s also sad for you.
