Put himself in the shop window with that goal.

Hopefully he gets a club

Just add his teammates too. It's a habit to learn what your teammates are doing in a given situation. Their movements and what passes they are looking for. I think Andreas would be a good squad player but he needs to play in this team to get him going.
Look at what happened to Fred when he plays regularly. He gets better.
Yeah but I don't think it's the case for Pereirra.

Fred was an issue of him adapting to the PL.

For Pereirra unfortunately it was rather an issue of talent. He's always like 3 seconds behind the general play, too inconsistent technically and his first touch is pretty meh.

Let's put it this way: his brain is too slow for a CAM, he's too slow to play on the wings and as a DM/CM he basically lacks everything. He's also past the best age to develop (18-22 yo).

He might make it somewhere else but not the PL I think.

The problem is that players like Pereira, Lingard, Dalot, Tuanzebe or Wiliams (Apparently no one at Southampton earns more money than him) are on amazing wages here.

Therefore no club can afford to pay 12-15m for Pereira and to pay good wages for him too.
Yeah it does baffle me how much we pay sub standard players.

£5m or £20m, to me the importnat part is getting his wages off the books and providing more space within the squad, are several player slike that here that are on wages far higher than they should be, which needs to be taken into consideration when trying to sell them

I accept the point that our players have historically been overpaid and this has made shifting them difficult, however, I have only fact-checked one of the above (Williams) and he would be nowhere near Southampton's top earner on his current salary. In fact, there would be over 15 players earning more.

Well that's that! Incredible! Our youngsters have 'made it' before they've really achieved or earned such exorbitant wages.

It's crazy to think Williams would be earning more than the likes of Ings, Shane Long and Wilcott if this is true. He won't have many takers for loan deals

Yep if it is true.....we don't know and must believe it.

But it is very likely true because otherwise Tuanzebe would have left us with his age 24.....but he earns so much therefore difficult for most clubs in the PL to sign him if he wants a similiar wage.

It wouldn't be shocked if Williams earms more than the Southampton players.....our wage bill is crazy high and not only because of players like De Gea, Pogba and others.

If he puts in another blinder in the next friendly, it would be great marketing for a move to another club.

Following this standards, they would need to add every players transfer fees into account when talking about players wages. It's just utter bollocks disguised as another way to slam the club.
Why so, they probably dont want him to he the highest paid player in the dressing room

But he's not?

They're counting the loan fee that we want as wages to Williams, so if that's the case they should include every other players transfer fee when calculating who earns the most in their dressing room.

The key difference here is that Williams will only be there for a year, it's like buying a car outright vs lease, with the latter the owner doesn't 'own' the car as it will have to be returned.

So I can see where they are coming from if they take William's loan's fee into account.

Apparently it’s a loan with an option to buy by Everton. Hopefully United sees a 8-10M as a reasonable price if Everton offers that. Asking for 20M is just absolutely ridiculous
Would prefer an obligation to buy, granted if he plays well we lose the option of selling else where but I think he'll flop and Everton will decide against having him.

yup rinse and repeat. He needs to wise up and go somewhere where he can actually start and develop his game. He’s just a weird utility player currently. I guess he’s on big money and he’s happy running his contract down and staying relevant either way

Let him go on loan with obligation to buy 10m pounds if he plays certain amount of games and 15m if he plays certain amount of games because by next year he will only have 1 year left to 2023. Simple. We need to stop being an idiot inserting massive option to buy fee because it's obvious no one gonna buy him and make sure we find the right club not feckin Lazio who have one of the best Serie A trio midfield. The condition of certain amount of games is just condition to show clubs if you play him lot of games then you rate him highly so you must buy him.

See no point in letting him go out on loan at this point, the guy is 25 years old

He won’t make it here , that much is clear to everybody, if you can get 10m or over for him just get it done

Do Arsenal want him? He could probably convince them he's a future world class player.
They can discover reality after.

There will be no better option to sell than a top half PL club (with unlimited pockets at that). Think of all of the possible clubs anywhere in the world that could want to buy Andreas Pereira and I can guarantee you that none of them are able to pay a bigger fee than Everton would.

We need Everton to agree to Buy him before he plays there, if he goes there on loan Everton won't buy him at the end of the season as he's so bad,

Poor guy. United used to let go academy player (of whom the club deemed not United level) on cheap, so they can have more options of club to choose from.

Now they're better kept to be assets on the accounting book, then let go for cheaper.

Flamengo.

Bit of a backwards step to go to Flamengo at this stage if his career isn't it? I would've thought he'd want to stay in Europe

Apparently his focus is to try and make the national team squad for the World Cup and he reckons he's more likely to achieve that playing in Brazil.

According to the reports I've seen Andreas earns £2.6 million a year (link). That's like £50k a week.

At the best of times I think we'd struggle to get someone to pay us a transfer fee AND give Andreas the same wages we give him. During a pandemic, where loads of clubs have had no matchday revenue for nearly two years? No chance.

Its United's fault for renewing surplus to requirements players: 'To protect value.'

That's a nice way of spinning it. However, the more likely (and uglier) truth is that nobody in Europe wants him. Why would they? He's been on loan at Granada, Valencia and Lazio and none of them have thought he was worth going for afterwards. The truth is the only people that rate Andreas highly are the people at United who dish out the contracts!

This is the issue. A) we hand out decent wages to players too easily, 50 K for Periera is awful business and B) we keep renewing contracts senselessly

People belittling Flamenco are amusing
They have no idea that Flamengo are the biggest football club outside of Europe, on course to win their 2nd Libertadores in the last 3 years, and possibly 3rd league title in a row. And that’s before even taking into account the guy is Brazilian. You can’t force a player to go somewhere he doesn’t want to.

tbh, Mineiro are just as likely to win the Libertadores, last three games have 3 wins v River Plate (x2) & Palmeiras. Going to be a great final if it's Mineiro v Flamengo.

but yeah, adding on to what you said, Flamengo is a bigger club than both Granada and Lazio, and arguably Valencia as well. The three clubs where Pereira has been on loan thus far.
Average crowds pre-Covid saw them host more spectators than any of the aforementioned.
and not to sound like Ed WW, but when they last won the Copa Libertadores in 2019, They had 124 million Instagram interactions. Barcelona were second with 79 million.
They've won the league twice in a row. They have a 35-9 goal difference in the 10 games since the new coach took over. 9 wins out of 10 (plus a 4-0 loss)
They even held Liverpool to extra time in the World Club Cup final in 2019, when Liverpool was flying, despite it being Flamengo's 77th game that season.

Flamengo have 4 recent call-ups to the Brazilian NT, and the club is frequently watched by scouts from big European clubs, so if he manages to get into the XI for Flamengo, he'll definitely catch the eye of the Brazilian national team manager.

See the same thing about Varane. Have seen professional pundits describe him as slow or being poor on the ball. Which is drivel. People cited how he got ripped apart by Chelsea, when he didn't play that game. People alluded to his 2 mistakes vs City, but they were his only 2 mistakes leading to goals of the whole season I believe. People can only go by what they see, but need to be humble enough to recognise that judging players on one or 2 games out of 60 in a season is intensely moronic. I think Premier League fans, more than most, suffer from intense myopia and proximity bias.

With that said, and not to start a separate debate, but I'm not sure how you can make that claim, they arent even the most successful team in Brazil domestically, or the most successful Brazilian team continentally. I would say Independiente, River Plate, Boca Juniors, Sau Paulo and Santos would all heavily dispute that claim about who the biggest club is!

I said biggest, not most successful historically.
