I don't know how to start a thread on here, but would be good to have a poll thread on which of Pogba's assists was best?
The assist for Mason is head and shoulders above the others for me.

Perfect pace on it, enough to beat the defender but enough for Mason to sprint straight on to. Xavi, Iniesta, Scholes would be proud of it.

Pogba, Fernandes, Greenwood and McTominay all incredible today. Lindelof solid at the back too, almost feel sad for him that he'll be losing his place next week.

I have a feeling we will see Harry rested next week. He looked slightly off it today

What a day! Old Trafford was rocking.

The team was purring at times, with Fernandes, Pogba and Greenwood looking great in an outstanding display. Pogba's vision, Bruno's finishing and the youthful exuberance of Greenwood was a joy to experience. He looks a lot faster in the flesh than I thought after watching him on TV during the lockdown.

Great day all around after such a long wait.
Were you there Sults? Did you have to use a COVID pass or something to prove vaccinations?

Excellent game to start the season. Have to applaud Pogba for a great game. This is the Pogba we need, not just the 4 assists, but working hard for the team. He won't get an assist every day, but working hard will paint him in a totally different light.

Bruno, what else can you say about him, what a player! Lindelof and Maguire did well, as did Fred and McTominay. Not sure why James is still starting games. We can get any of the youngsters to perform just as hard, but maybe some end product as well. Needs to be sold off as soon as possible.

Just wondering if Lindelof can be converted into a holding midfielder. He has some great passing and is comfortable with the ball.

UTD! I am not fond of the Glazers.
Great start albeit against a very vulnerable Leeds. Standout performances by Pogba, Bruno and Greenwood. Shaw was very good also. Claring weakness was the right side with James who just cannot do anything with the ball, and at the same time Wan Bissaka was as akward as ever.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves. Good game but a lot to be better in.

MOTD editing in the minutes applause as if they were applauding players taking the knee was…weird

But it’s uneasy to look good attacking-wise when you have inept James at your flank. When Sancho starts, Bissaka will also improve

No need to be sad. Plenty of games to play and about time we have some quality options to rotate in our defence

Brilliant win, let's not forget that we could already have been further away at half time and then conceded an absolut banger from Ayling. With the short pre season most of our first teamers had, the missed chances and their goal out of nothing we could have lost points easily, but we absolutely destroyed them after the equalizer. Without Varane, Sancho, Rashford and Cavani.

McTominay is always brilliant against Leeds. Certainly his favourite opponent.

Very impressed with the amount of one touch attacking football we played today. I'm not sure we will get away with that against every team, but long may it continue. Giving Pogba that amount of space is clearly a quick way to a hammering so I don't suppose anyone else will be too keen to do that.

It was a fantastic team performance, the most cohesive as a unit we've seen for some time! Pogba deserves full praise for his performance throughout, this was the player we paid £90 million to see, Im not a great admirer of his to be honest but if he can keep producing performances like this I'll be more than happy; I dont expect him to play as well as this each week, as long as he shows hes trying and that he cares. Its all Ive wanted from him.

I think if anything it shows how the McFred foundation is vital to our season. We don't have the backing of some oil reserves so they will do.
They will allow our dynamic, flair playing attackers the room to thrive and express themselves.
McFred will be appreciated by players only and not by online forum twats/moaners/whingers who will only judge things based on the end product and not the linkages proceeding that final ball.

Last time we won our opening game 5-1 we had a really, really entertaining season.

Great start to the season, really enjoyed how we played.
My only area of concern was defending anything in the air in our box, I thought too often we let Leeds players get across us and to the ball first.

Outstanding performances throughout the squad, with the exception of James. On the subject of James, we really have to keep in mind he’s a squad man.

Rashford is out. Sancho probably was ready but Ole didn’t want to take any chances. Diallo of course isn’t ready. I was hoping it would be Sancho and Greenwood out wide with Martial up top, but not today.

Point is, we need a player like James to fill out the squad when the squad is depleted. Let’s cut the man a bit of slack.

Greenwood was amazing.

A front three of Sancho, Greenwood, Rashford has the potential to be very frightening. And of course you can add Bruno into that equation, who will always pump up our goals+assists figures vs. the small opposition.

Still buzzing after this result. Only negative is that Chelsea and Liverpool also won!

Honestly one of the best days I can remember as a United fan. Thumped the Leeds scum with five brilliant goals, Pogba and Bruno playing Ballon d'Or level stuff, sexy Varane getting announced at the actual game, Sancho debut. Absolutely no complaints, just smiles all around.
Have we announced someone before the game since Michael Knighton pulled the same stunt - and we destroyed Arsenal 4-1 in 1989. Maybe we should do this in every homematch this season :)

Bruno hat-trick has to be motm. All three finishes were sublime. Pogba with 4 assist is a joint motm.
Realistically - to get 4 assists is a much harder thing to do than getting a hat-trick. There have been over 400 hat-tricks in the Premier League - but it was only the 7th time someone managed 4 assists in one game. Ironically all the other 6 were Arsenal or Tottenham-players. (Adebayor, Cazorla, Kane last season against Southampton, Reyes, Bergkamp and Fabregas)

That remains my favorite season! Going up against prime Mourinho's Chelsea who had won the league two seasons in a row and had just bought Shevchenko and Ballack. And we had bought only Carrick and it was all doom and gloom before the season started and then we went ahead and won the league playing swashbuckling football! Good times!

It was a great game, and yes, this is the Pogba we need. The hard-working Pogba who is making an effort. I just hope he does not go back to his normal self if he is not providing assists.

James. I agree he looks lost. No sense of direction. He's playing like as he's been informed that he won't be playing much.

The signing of Sancho has him low in confidence.
