Where have you been, mate. Rashford had his surgery soon 2 weeks ago and is certainly not considering another one, just for the fun of it.
Right. This quote was from two weeks ago.
Rashford is out for three months.
Amad was at the Olympics,
Elanga was playing superbly in pre season.
Which then led Ole to say then words.

Loaning our biggest talent to a club that is getting walked over so far in the championship strikes me as a very very stupid idea

Not to mention Garner going back to Forest who have lost their first three games. And then there's Pellistri going back to relegation candidates in Spain. Literally setting them up to play with poor players and look bad.

Would rather he went to another club.

Sheffield are a complete mess.

No it's not. It's entertaining but certainly not one of the best, it is however relevant to his United development, as you said. I'd be very comfortable loaning him to Sheffield United considering how well they looked after Henderson. By what @Blades1889 is saying, it sounds like they have an attacking manager, with a system that plays wingers and a lack of wingers to complete that system, which would suggest a significant amount of gametime opportunities.
Exactly this. I understand that nobody watches us and just looks at results but understand that we are adjusting to a new system with a new manager who needs new players in. Rome wasn’t built in a day and all that.

Fulham started slow under Jokanovic too so…

I dunno, I think other than another Premier League club, it might be the best for him. And I’m not sure he’d get regular football at another Premier League club.

Don’t the players and their agents have a large say in where they go? In agreement with the club too?

Pellistri and Garner have experience at both their destinations at least.

I think a Championship loan is probably the best idea for him. He's barely played first team football at all, what he needs is game time.

But wouldn’t Amad become one of your best players then?

To set the record straight here.

The Blades fan was spot on in that there’s a lot of snobbery going on here.

Amad going or not going on loan to Sheffield Utd is moot. Will he get games? Yes. More first team action than Utd, more than likely. Is it it higher standard than U23s? Bloody hell right, it is.

Garner and Pellistri both favour and favoured moves respectively to their clubs. The former really enjoyed working under Hughton. The latter gained experience and plaudits playing in Spain.

The football world has changed. Loans for young players from top flight clubs is quite normal and if the club feels it would benefit Amad’s development more than reserve team football then let them be the best judges of it.

I mean it wouldn’t be hard but it’s hard to say. He’s only actually played youth level for you bar a couple of times so who knows but he does look very talented. I don’t get what point you are making though. He’d play regularly for us giving him the chance to develop.

If he is the best player, than attacking gameplay may be built around him - it’s different from simply “having a lot of game time”.
If he’s as good as everyone on here makes him out to be then yes, attacking play would be built around him?

Agreed mate. I remember just how good Fulham were under Jokanovic too. A Championship loan under a progressive manager like Jokanovic will do Amad wonders. The physicality of the league builds his weaknesses up and the style of play of the manager will suit him down to the ground.

As long as he plays regularly, I can't see how it goes wrong.

A lot of posters here talking about the championship like its a Sunday league kids kickabout. Its the ideal move for him IMO - its not too dissimilar to the premier league in terms of its physicality and pace of the game but obviously at a lesser level, it'll be the ideal baptism for him to get acquainted with English football - and where better than a club that's struggling and will likely be fighting every game to ensure survival.

Harry Kane spent 4 years being loaned out to various lower league sides, after which he netted 21 goals in his first full debut season at Spurs and hasn't slowed down since. Our own David Beckham also had a loan spell at Preston who at the time were in the fourth tier - yes the FOURTH tier of English football, yet it still didn't stop him from being a great for us.

Some of you need to tone down the snob factor and trust the club with this decision.

The lad needs to play in a team that intends on trying to play football, absolute madness to send him to a team with no structure right now.

The most important factor of going on loan is that the player gets games...he should get that. Also we are just a couple of games into the season, saying they are a mess is a bit premature to say the least.

Personally wouldnt have sent him out on loan, I still think there should be enough opportunities for him to develop over the season here. As it stands though we still have players here who probably shouldnt be like Mata, like Lingard, like James. Though I dont think he is ready to be a starter or even to play regularly....neither are they and they are taking up spots, maybe with the exception of Lingard within the squad over youngsters who I feel offer just as much as them.

But I am also on the other hand not against him going on loan to the championship to develop. The worst thing we could do is loan him to a premiership side where he doesnt play, that doesnt benefit us or him

We do intend to play football. Football that suits wide players for that matter. The problem is we need the players and Diallo has obviously been targeted as someone who fits the system the manager wants to play.

We’re currently a mess due to having a squad of players used to a very specific play style. That will soon change once this window is over.

No offense but Wilder was right about Sheffield players being mostly a League One quality when they were in the PL. If that hadn't changed, I don't see how playing with such limited footballers would benefit Amad.

If they want a more physical league for him, they should find him a loan in Ligue 1.

I don't have an issue with him going on loan to the Championship per se, as if the kid is going enough to play for a club like Manchester United he should be doing very well in that league. The only issue is going to a dysfunctional team that's a bit of a mess. Someone before said they play exciting football however apparently they've started the season terribly. So, the environment being conducive to a young exciting attacker is an important facet to consider.

Sorry to say but because of these decisions I dont think these 3 will make it here. Their career will be wasted with us.

I’d like to see him at Brighton.
They often play with wingbacks rather than wingers, so I'm not sure he'd be a consistent tactical fit for them. But yes, certainly a team at that sort of level - the problem is that there is too much money involved in relegation/survival for them to take a gamble on a 19 year old where they won't be the ultimate beneficiary of his development over the season.

No chance Ole would sell James. He's an integral part of the squad in Ole's mind.
In October when Rashford gets back Pogba Cavani Sancho
Rashford Martial Greenwood. James at this point will be struggling for minutes as he will be 3rd choice on both wings. Is this what people really want for Amad. It will be hard just to get a start in the cup games. If we have a cup game in October when Rashford gets back the starting 11 could easily be this

Henderson

Dalot Bailly Lindelof Telles

Matic Vdb

Rashford Mata Martial
Cavani

Coming off the bench in the carabao cup is that what we want for Amad.

That's what I like to hear
With Amad, I have to say he's doing really, really well in training, he's come back a little later after the Olympics and now he's looking really good. I wouldn't be surprised if he stays as well. It has to be the right loan, the club, way of playing etc
Looks like he will be loaned out.

That's fine if the loan is right as he says.

To me none of the club's touted sound great. He already had a good showing with us so if he stays in sure he can make a good impact.

He is a seriously good player.

Ideally we would sell James (nothing against him really, just see him as having less potential) and play Amad instead. I think that would be better for all concerned.
