His best attributes are what he provides defensively. Pressing, tackling, interceptions, positioning. He's also very good in the air. Offensively or in possession he's a work in progress. Currently I don't think his passing is all that great, he isn't a dribbler either or someone who carries the ball forward a lot. I think as a comparison a taller Kante isn't the worst one. If anything I think he would be an upgrade on McTominay.
Thanks.

How is his shooting? McTominay scored 7 or 8 goals last season, while Fred is scoring for fun now

His shooting is good from what I've seen and he'll improve further. He's a player who would allow us to play a 4-3-3 with good functionality and isn't just a sitting midfielder which is a good thing IMO, because I believe every midfielder needs to have box to box capabilities and a goal threat in the modern game which he does have.

He gets in good positions, but he isn't a goal-scoring midfielder. His shooting is above average from what I've seen.

One of those players who United will spend a couple of windows 'monitoring' until Leicester or Dortmund snap him up for a bargain price.

Cheers. It seems that's the type of midfielder Ole wants. Someone similar to Fred and McTominay with possibly a higher ceiling.
he would be perfect in the 4231 rotating in and out with mcfred.

Personally think the Chelsea links will probably pick up pace in the next week or so
We've been linked with him since the start of the summer, to be honest.

Kante is borderline injury prone at this point. He needs to be managed, and as someone said, Jorginho is linked with a move to Italy every window. Both of them are 30.

Personally I don't think Tchouameni would be interested in a rotational role, which is all he would get at Chelsea this season, when he's on the cusp of breaking into the national team in a World Cup year.

Still think he would sign for you despite the midfield depth already there

In my opinion, Franck Kessié is exceptional on DMC role with goals and assists. Unfortunately, he prefer to extend his contract with AC milan. Apart from him, I think Ibrahim Sangaré from PSV who is his partner in Ivory coast is also great defensive midfielder, just not product much goals and assists.
I used to express my opinion in another post. If we want a strength DMC who could be XI in Man United, I'll choose Ibrahim Sangare'.
He's got quite good skill on everything you need in this role including tackling, intercepting, heading, passing and dribbling.

I'm starting to hate the term "generational talent".
The most self defeating term out there. Thrown out to anyone who looks like they have top level potential.

There must be 50-60 players who get labelled as generational talents.

If there is that many of you then there is nothing generational about it.

Gives the ball away with poor passes based upon this match tonight so far
Really? Monaco been all over SHK. It was his ball winning that set up the first goal. He’s been fine and you can’t base anything on this game , it’s been a good performance by them

He was excellent tonight. If it wasn't for Kevin Volland, Monaco would've sailed through. Hopefully, we were watching tonight with a keen eye.

Will admit I 'm getting that desperate for anyone in that area right now

Monaco were unlucky to go out. They had some good opportunities to kill the game in normal time and at the end they succumbed to a freak goal which looped over their keeper after deflecting off one of their players.

I didn't watch the whole game but the commentary team did say that Tchouameni was excellent.

Castles saying we've enquired about how much both Tchouameni and Bissouma will cost.

Hopefully we can do a deal for Tchouameni as he's exactly what we need, rather than another box to box, who we hope can adjust his game to fill a position.

Any reliable links? Don't know why Duncan Castles even gets posted around here anymore.

Budgetary reasons. It has been reported that we’d need to sell in order to buy after 2 substantial purchases, and Jesse is the obvious candidate.
When I see a report from our financial department that verifies this I will believe it but until then I think it is pure bull that is media driven that keeps us in the news.
If we wanted one of these young talents and they wanted to come we would have them by the end of the window and that would not be dependent on any outgoings in my humble opinion.

Wow. That's some sensational passing. I thought he was a good DM who passes OK. Some of that passing, I don't remember the last time any of our CM other than Pogba did. Granted the compilation didn't have the missed passes. But still.

I haven't seen him much. So I'm open to correction. But based off that he looks perfect for us.

We all agree that United is run like a business right? We have lost over £100+ million in the past 15 months or is this fake news unless you are seeing a report from the financial department?

Otherwise, why is there is a disconnect on this? Any business will need to be financially prudent in such circumstances. If it was me running the business, I am not even sure I would spend the amounts that we have already. I would have chopped off the deadwood first before evening thinking of spending over £110+million so far.
