Fix the midfield this summer and we have a chance at a big number 9 signing next summer. It wouldnt suprice me if Matic, Pogba and VDB leave next summer as well so its crucial we only have one main area to focus on next summer if we want a striker like Haaland.

Not gonna happend but ideally we sell Pogba now if a move is inevitable ,and replace him with Camavinga. We give him the year to settle in, and prep him to be a main asset the season after that. We also buy a holding midfielder this summer and hopefully the Lingard and Pogba money will be enough for both. Next summer the team will be well setled and we can crown it with Haaland and win the league=)

feck me its worse than yesterday, didnt even get a loan fee.

We are so shit at getting rid of players
Because our wage structure is ridiculous. We need to sort it out, and fecking Woodward off is a good start.

Also not giving 5 year contracts to peripheral players would be nice too.

He must not be given away for free ,we could sale him for 5m-10m quid, is it not better than paying his salary while he contributes nothing to us and still release him for free at the end of his contract?
The best we can get for him at the moment is a free loan with us still paying 2/5 of his wages.

We’re still unwinding a lot of the shit contracts given out over the last five years. Tough to get a club to take on the wages we’ve given (especially as Covid has happened between a lot of contracts and now) and players don’t want to take less.

Also, there are stories saying the player went to the club and said he wanted Flamengo.

Personally, I’d have tried to sell him for £5m-£10m but with a sell on % and clauses re games played, Intl caps.

It’s backfired hasn’t it. The idea that them being on long contracts ensured a decent transfer fee has only benefited the player and agents

Safe to say if you’re 22-23 and still on loan from United you’re not going to make it. Andreas was about that age for his last extension. Should have just let him go on a free. Can’t imagine we made any money from his loans.

We need 2 in truth, a Carrick style holder and a quality #8.
I hear you. There is only one ball though, Fernandes loves having it, Pogba too, and don't forget Greenwood, Sancho and co. A fit Matic would do just fine. And if I may indulge in some muppetry: N'golo Kanté, we win the the league.

I'm surprised Flamegno didn't offer us a deal where we pay all the wages and they have a buy option for 30m.. I'm sure we would have accepted that too.

Just out of curiosity, do people think english clubs will agree to set their wage structures on fire, then pouring the ashes over an active volcano, then blow up said volcano, to sign Halaand?

Wage structure at Man United means nothing. We'll plan and talk about keeping to it but the moment a good player wants to leave we'll offer them anything to make them stay. The point of a wage structure is to move on players when they get to 28-29 so they sign that last big contract with another club like RVN, Beckham, etc. You can't expect to have any sort of restricted wage structures and then offer Pogba 400k or De Get 370k you have to have the balls to let them walk for free.

The thing I'm saying is I want all our players to be good on the ball, with the double pivot I'd like to see one that screens primarily but who is capable of hitting the front 4 from deep, and an 8 that can do the running McFred do but with much more quality on the ball. A young Matic would be fine as the #6, but sadly his legs aren't up to it.

He's been such an amazing signing for Madrid. Arguably the best they've made over the last couple of decades, when you consider the goals he's scored, the trophies he's helped them win, and the length of service he's given them.

If they like him they can buy him for circa £15m, probably wouldn't happen but at least this deal gets him in the shop window and saves half of his salary,
Not sure the brazilian league is a great shop window

I’ve been seeing posts about this contract renewal for a while now. What’s the alternative for Dybala? Which club has registered interest in him, should he not want to extend with Juvenuts?
I'm sure other clubs would be monitoring his situation, but none have gone to the next stage. On top of that, Dybala himself wants to remain at Juventus, which makes him leaving the club less likely.

FYI, Flamengo are paying United €1 million as the loan fee on top of covering 60% of the wages. I'd say €1 million is better than nothing.

I'm still gutted he never signed for us. Although I'm glad for him he's forged a brilliant career at Real, especially as he's been performing consistently to a very high level during the Messi vs Ronaldo years.

He's been looking to leave for a while, and it looks like the Premier League might be his next destination.
  • Fee: €7 million
  • Torino wanted €8 million, but Lyanco pushed for a transfer
  • Watford also interested
EDIT: More info
