He and James should play rock paper scissors to determine who goes to Sheffield.

Given that we actually have more than enough creativity in the squad vying for minutes, it’ll be worse when Rashford gets back, we keep a player who’ll put in a relentless pressing shift whose development won’t stall if he doesn’t play much over a few months. Amad is 18 James is 24. Stop comparing them. Amad needs completely different treatment to James if we actually want him to become a top player. Unless before the season ends we start playing amad in consecutive games instead of one of Pogba Sancho Greenwood Cavani Martial or Rashford? It’s just not going to happen. Stop turning it into Amad vs James. One has found his level as a squad player. The other we hope can become something special but he needs a lot of games that he simply won’t get here.

Ideally we would sell James (nothing against him really, just see him as having less potential) and play Amad instead. I think that would be better for all concerned.
Not really, when you have such a talented player, the best way to improve as a player is playing regular football. If he takes James spot, he isn't going to play much football considering the signings we have made.

What's the point if hes playing 10/15 games a season and that too not even 90 mins. Its better for his progress to play 30/40 games a season

“He’s above the championship”, the kids played 13 professional games. He needs game time and that would not be a certainty in any of the world’s top leagues, as it wasn’t at Atalanta.

There is potential for more games than that here. Loans are also very much hit and miss. It is a rare loan where a player gets as many as 30/40 games... if we can find him one that could be good I agree.

I agree, especially as the Championship is a strong league - as strong as the top division in many other countries. It's looking like a good loan for Chong to Birmingham. Amad could be a very good option for many Champo clubs, but there are not loads of teams who offer the right criteria.

I think it's a great league for our youngsters, primarily because they actually play. Like Garner last year, Tuanzebe before that.

Sending the likes of Januzaj to Dortmund or Andreas to Lazio makes no sense when they're unlikey to actually get games.

Yeah though I think Andreas to Lazio was a case of it being the best option financially for a player who we would sell if anyone were prepared to pay the fee.

It's more a case of he's good enough for premier league football, so we should be aiming for a loan there.

Brighton, Palace, Newcastle, Norwich etc could all make use of him. Yes he could rip up the championship but that doesn't guarantee he will improve if he doesn't find it a challenge.

So has he been linked with Premier League clubs?
If other Premier League clubs or even Bundesliga clubs aren’t keen on him, then he will end up going on loan in the championship anyway. Either now or in a few months.

So we are out of the race because people still think Wilder and his overlapping centre back system are still here…

I will admit I was excited about this. Purely because we need wingers and I’ve seen him rated highly on here. I best keep away now for when he inevitably joins someone else.

We need to make sure he goes to a side that plays attacking football and just as importantly have some quality relative to the division.

Nothing worse for an attacking player than going out on loan, hardly getting a kick and then being taken out of the team for somebody big and strong who tracks back all game.

I understand your sentiment and reasoning, all valid points.....but I do personally still disagree.

James firstly I dont see as worthy of a place in the squad. I only think he contributes two ways as an impact player late in games but the pace doesnt coutn for much if there is no end product. The other way is his work rate and rpessing....but that shouldnt be an attribute, it shoulo dbe the norm....and its hardly Rooney/Tevez levels for example either. For me, he isnt currently and jumping the gun but never will be good enough for the shirt.

As for Diallo I am not against him going on loan or staying. I think either can work. I dont think consecutive games or regular appearances is vital. Foden didnt at first, Greenwood didnt at first. All players are individual and we havent seen enough of Amad so far to really know where he is at. There have been moments of quality evident but also quiet periods. I do think the ability he has can contribute from the bench or in certain cup games though as much as more as someone like James or others.

I think the comparisons rightly or wrongly are for the fact a lot of people dont think James is good enough where as there is the possibility AMad could be for a place in the squad and appearances from the bench. This could be labelled at other players we have some wonder why they are here in comparison to some talented youngsters....I think this is the most obvious one though

He can play anywhere up front. He is not exclusively a winger.
I think one of the main reasons he is also here is that he is left footed with the ability to play RM.

We can't purely rely on Greenwood for that sort of role in the squad.

You don't want to be playing in a team that is losing every week
Would probably be a worse idea sending him to a side that’s currently winning every game no? Likely wouldn’t play.

We’re no good at the moment because the manager is still using the squad he’s inherited which is accustomed to a specific way of playing. He will get it right, just needs the player’s in. Diallo would do well here.

And I’m sure nobody watched us today but the result was harsh we were actually quite good, we just lacked quality in the final third.

Assuming they will agree to start him in at least 75% of their games, I would much rather he join Palace.

Said all along, he needs to be playing against the best teams.

The teams playing against the best teams will use him as depth and not as a starter unless he comes in and instantly shows great form. He has to earn the reputation 1st. Right now all he has is hype.

Signing off…
You shouldn’t be surprised by now.

We should send him to Bayern so he gets the winning feel good factor and some minutes here and there.

But if he actually joins you guys and either doesn’t play a lot or doesn’t play well, be prepared to read here how we wish your club ceases to exist for treating the soon-to-be balon d’or winner like that.

Some people don’t know football outside of the glory of their own teams unfortunately. We have been awful for a while now but that doesn’t mean it can’t be fixed.

Signing Diallo could’ve been a missing piece to the jigsaw but we will never know. I for one can’t think of a PL side who will start him week in week out.

Are you actually hearing that you guys are out of the race? I know Fab said that Amad wanted a Prem loan but honestly, the club should trump the player's interests here. The most important thing is getting game time, and while I would back him in getting that with say, a Brighton under Potter, I'd be much more confident of it with you guys.

Not from anybody credible. I didn’t think it would happen anyway it seemed too perfect for what Slavisa wants and so far he isn’t getting anything he wants.

The player has to agree to the loan.

Ideally you want to send the kid to a big fish in a little pond juggling a heavy schedule in europa or the champions league. It provides the platform to flaunt his skill in a good set up but also satisfy those European football ambitions.

- S.C Braga - Who want to ensure they compete in europa but also aim for a CL spot.
- Rapid Wien - A team always hot on the heels of RB Salzburg
- Young Boys

Otherwise a danish or Belgium top club. Im over the dutch haha.

Amad and Donny Van de Beek should've come on instead of Lingard and McTominay yesterday IMO. But sadly we brought on two players who contributed to us completely losing the initiative in the last 20 minutes.

Two substitutes Ole would never do. But yeah, I agree.

He’s going on loan in Europe, not the Prem.

Talk of it died down for the last while.

A smart manager would sell James and keep Amad to get a CM imo.
A smart manager would make subs in a European final, one of them things innit. Solskjaer keeping hold of his only left footed natural winger seems to be a big ask.

So Ole has confirmed he will be going out on loan apparently. Disappointed as I think he's better than Dan James but it is what it is . Hope it's a premier league team.
