Incredible. This is insane.

The fact that City were in for him makes it even better.

Can't get excited about this. Seems like a sentimental/commercial deal more than a sporting one. I don't see how adding the a 36-year-old poacher to a front line which already contains Rashford, Sancho, Greenwood, Martial and Cavani will bring us any closer to the title. If Cavani hadn't extended then fine. But this reeks like panic because we couldn't lose face by seeing him go to City.

Hope to be proven wrong.

Think this is a terrible idea. Really isn't the player we need, we have Cavani as the experienced striker and Greenwood as a great player going through with Martial as a decent 3rd choice. Bringing in Ronaldo putting him on wages that are likely to make Sanchez look cheap is going completely F'up and squad harmony we have and raise the expectations of every player we negotiate with.

Plus Ronaldo at this stage of his career is going to be a squad player, he is 36, 37 within this season. He is not going to be able to play every game, I can't imagine him dealing with sitting on the bench very well or being subbed. Plus having your highest earner as a player who can't play every week is always a stupid idea.

This is just an all-around awful idea! Muppets with love it and tell me I'm wrong, but this will only end badly.

I was watching a compilation on MUTV of all of his goals the other week too.
He was simply breathtaking, amazing how spoiled we were back then.

"36 year old poacher".
Talk about underselling him!

Because he scored more goals than anyone in our team last season?

The fact that the type of player we needed before he left, is still the type of player we are still lacking in spite of his return, 12 years later is funny, and not ha ha funny, but despairingly funny.

Put him in that city team they will win everything this year.

Why would you want that?
Cavani will likely not play much this year. Look at his impact last year. Now replace that with Ronaldo. That's right
I'll avoid the rest of the people yelling at me but to me it reeked of a last minute Guardiola signing just so he can win the CL and leave City on a high. Almost a Jose Mourinho signing if you will. Fine by me if it happens, they'll win the CL at some point, no point losing our calm about it and doing stupid things.

City also have enough money to justify signing Ronaldo for winning a single CL and getting rid of him after that, we don't. It'll be a 20M fee + 13M in wages for 1 year, that's 33M and we still have to go get Haaland next year.

The only good thing that can come out of this is that Pep might throw his toys out the pram that he didn't get a striker and leave City in the middle of the season.
