And Ronaldo will drag us to it.

I don’t think we’ll find the consistency to win the League, but we now have a huge X Factor in attack. The youngsters around Cristiano will raise their game to match his winning drive. Varane is bringing massive experience with him from Madrid, and don’t be surprised when De Gea finds some form this season.

See you all in May for a party

Might seem weird but it'll probably be easier to win the CL this year as opposed to the PL...

Anything is possible but I personally think it's too early to say we'll win the Champions League this season.

It’s always a tall order. Every year, the list of failed and defeated teams includes most of Europe’s elite teams and most of the best players in the world. The best coaches in the world fail year after year.

But we have a much better chance than we had last year, that’s for damn sure.

Dear football God. If you see this thread it is made by a poster who lost his sleep to the thoughts of Ronaldo joining United. He is not thinking clearly and this thread should be taken as a joke than something that was meant to challenge you. Just ignore this one, thanks.

We should be strong contenders. PSG, Chelsea, and Pewl as well.

We typically do well against big club because of our solid defense and good counter attack. Most team in the champions league after the group stage will be known to play beautiful attractive football. Our game-plan will work perfectly against those teams. So, I won’t be surprised if that happens. We have a much better team than Chelsea that won it last year, so I will not say it is impossible.

There are so many factors involved but I like our draw for the groups.
We have depth. If we can somehow push in 1 more cdm I would be happy… but I like how it’s lining up.

Ronaldo didn't manage to drag Juve to a CL win. Let's not get over the board with our expectation.

My main target this season is still challenging for the league till the last few weeks.

CR7 will turn 37 around the time the knockout rounds begin, just so we taper expectations a bit. But I think United is a contender on all front, but we have to see how the team adapts to all of its new parts and there's also the factor that once CR7 comes into a team, that team essentially becomes at the service of CR7 so we have to see how the squad responds to that.

I'll settle for any of the trophies this year. Just get that first one for Ole, and start developing a 'winning mentality' in the group.

It doesn't have to be the CL, and I still can't see us finishing above City in the PL this season. But FA Cup, League Cup, either CL or, if things go wrong in the group, the EL. Anything! We've got a squad capable of winning trophies, we just need it to start happening and I'm not fussy about which we win first.

Yes we have WC and close to WC players, but we have a gaping hole of mediocrity in the middle of the park and if Ole dont fix it we win nothing again.

Now against Villarreal....everyone knows our record against them....a draw is very possible.

Then i can see one win and one defeat against Atalanta.

I can easily see just 4 points for us after 4 matches.

Even in that terribly negative hypothetical situation..

We’d need to win at home to Young Boys and away to Villarreal to go through, which you’d back us to do.

Villarreal and Atalanta have much better coaches than us.

Just 5 matches to play here.

People talk about Haaland next season.

We must talk about the coach....this performance is a big worry for the next five matches.

Basically we’re now in a position where any further loss makes us very likely to finish behind the side we lose to. 4 points against Villarreal and a further 4 against Atalanta might well be enough with Young Boys at home to come, but that will be easier said than done.

Dreading these Villarreal games as even two further draws against them might cause enough further harm to put us out.

Do you want to edit the title of this discussion? After Young Boys result, I’m just deflated.
